Gil stands on a rise surveying the land before him. He smiles a wide smile and nods satisfactorily....

"Yes this will do nicely." He whispers to the wind.

After receiving a personal request from Smom, Gil had sent out messengers to all that owed him a favour or two. Looking back behind him now he was happy with the result. The aid promised from Kieran's father had also arrived and joined up with hs train.



"This will be built in no time." Again to nobody in particular...

Just then an old acquaintance walked up to him...



"Is that were you want it built Gil?" Asked the engineer..

"Yes old friend. What do you think? Oh and thankyou again for coming on such short notice." Gil replied

"Aye, tis no trouble my old friend. You can repay me with a nice bottle once we have finished ok? Yes I think this will be an ideal location. Why don't we set up over there"

The engineer points out a location to Gil who nods in agreement. Gil laughed and clapped his architect/engineer friend on the back.

"Thee shall have earnt more than one!"

The two men walk down the hill with the wagons rumbling along behind...

With so many helping hands and ready supplies, construction gets underway pretty quickly and smoothly. Under the watchful eye of the master engineer the work crews quickly get to building the new Manor.

Gil helps co-ordinate the workers and distribution of the building materials...

At the entrance to the property a gate is being erected. A sign stands before the entrance...

As the sun is setting the newly rejoined couple finally break from their passionate kiss..... "Brad, I would like you to meet Gil, my best friend and the man helping me by getting the Manor built, seeing as how in my condition it is not wise. I know you will get along well. Shall we go see him at the Manor site before the sun is completely gone? I was headed there when I saw you."

Walking hand in hand back towards the Site, Smom sees Gil "Gil" she gives him a quick hug "Oh Gil I have the most wonderful news. This is Brad" turning to Brad "Brad this is Gil" readdressing Gil once more "Remember I told you once about him but thought he was gone forever? Well he is back" she felt stupid stating the obvious but continued anyway "He is never leaving me again. I have just agreed to be his wife." pausing to try to read Gil's expression "Give him a chance you know I don't love or care for someone unless they are incredible, I'm sure you will be fast friends." smiling at him "How is the Manor coming?"she knew she was rambling like a school girl but she was so happy to be with the man she so dearly loved, she could not help it.

Gil looks up from the plans in his hands as he hears people approaching. He smiles warmly when Smom walks over with a gentleman friend in tow. He listens to the introduction patiently and waits for his friend to finish babbling and smiles. Gil extends his hand and greets Brad.

"Tis an honour to meet you good sir. I am glad to meet the man who makes my friend swoon and trip over her own tongue."

Gil chuckles at Smoms rambling...

"Well my old friend, with all the help that has been received, you will have a new home in no time! I have the old plans from Bracknell and I have my old engineer friend back who worked on the original so everything should go smoothly. You shall have a house well before Christmas I should think..."

Looking around she was pleased with the progress as she listened to Gil

"That is wonderful news Gil. I am so glad it will be just like Bracknell, I miss my home and this will be like getting a piece of it back."

"Oh, look" turning to Brad as she walks towards him to point out an interesting part of the construction, due to the dim light from the setting sun she missteps and twists her ankle falling a bit before Brad catches her "Oww" she starts to tear as a burning pain radiates from her ankle "Please... let me sit" she sobs as the pain starts to shoot up her leg when she tries to regain her balance.

shakes the outstretched hand while holding onto Smom The pleasure is all mine so it appears construction is coming along nicely. Very beautiful so far... So Gil is this all you do is build manors and luxurious homes for the rich or are you a man of war as well?
picking his fiancee he gently carries her to a nearby log and positions her so that her ankle may rest

Seeing Smom fall, Gil moves over to where Brad sits here down.

"Are you ok?"

Turning back to Brad...

"A man of war? I have swung a sword a few times. Once in defense of Smoms home as a matter of fact. But I like to try my hands at many different things. You should drop into my bakery at some time and sample some of my famous lamingtons."

Gil turned briefly to call out to some workers......

Not caring if it is proper or not, as the two men present are her best friend and fiance, Smom lift her skirt a bit to expose her ankle. Rubbing it she can feel it starting to swell a bit. Checking the movement the way her father, the doctor, had taught her she saw it was not too bad yet she must stay off of it.

Looking up at Gil "Yes and no. I shall live, you won't rid yourself of me that easily Gil." she giggles "I have hurt my ankle and should get back and rest it." watching the two men converse she smiled "When you are done, if one of you wouldn't mind helping me back to the carriage, I would really appreciate it."

Noticing the view from where they were "Remind me to place a bench in this spot. What a wonderful view of the lake."

With only a week left until christmas, Gil is excited as he helps Smom down from the carriage steps....

"Ok now, keep the blind fold on. I will guide you. Carefully now,,,,"

Gil takes his friends hand and leads her towards her new home.

Not being able to see with the blindfold on, I trustingly take Gils hand as I gingerly step out of the carriage, using my other to pull my cloak tight as not to catch a chill. As my body feels the temperature change the babies kick hard "Ouch." I place my free hand on my tummy "Sorry Gil these children are quite active. Won't be too long and they too will be here." she sighs.

"Well what is this big surprise you have for me? If you brought me on a trip to see a snow cover rock again you think it interesting.....well.....I might just laugh so hard I give birth here and now. So you have been fore warned."

Gil is a little stunned at the thought of having to deliver a baby. T'was certainly one thing he had never tried before and his eyes opened wide! Shaking his head to clear the images Gil pats Smom's hand gently....


"Well ok THIS time it wont be a rock I promise! OK we are there you may remove your blindfold."

Gil moves around to help take the blindfold off his friend and whispers in her ear........

"Welcome to your new home! Merry Christmas!"

As you remove the blindfold my eyes adjust to the light for a moment. Seeing what looks like Bracknell before me I am amazed "Gil, Oh My!!" hugging her friend so tight the babies kicked making him jump, she giggled "Thank you it is the best gift. A home in time for Christmas. If I did not know better I would think I am at home, at Bracknell." Tearing up, as she was very emotional lately, she looked around at her new home.

"Gil, did you build that house nearby we discussed? The one for yourself to be nearby but not to close as to feel closed in? You do enjoy your freedom, this I know."

Think of all that was new in her life and that which was yet to come "I can't wait for Brad to see it. Oh Gil, this will be the best Christmas ever. Thank you again my friend."with all the bad she had seen and been through this past year she was blessed she had Her loving fiance, her best friend, her mother and daughter close and new life on it's way.

Gil pondered on Smom's question a moment before responding....

"Nay, I did not build a residence here my friend. Fear not though I shall never be too far away. I am thinking of building my own humble home soon. I just have to find the right location."

Laughing, Gil says....."Would you care for a tour?? Although I guess with it being the same as Bracknell there isn't much point. Maybe though you would like to locate Brad and show him around?"

Laughing at his suggestion she needed a tour "I think I can find my way around. I do wish you would change your mind about a cottage nearby but, I do understand you and your independence. Just don't be a stranger, I like home delivery of Lamingtons." she giggled "Well if you will excuse me I am going to go back into Penrith and have Mother and Molly pack so we can move in." pausing for a moment "Brad went to Keswick for the day so I will give him the tour upon his return. Thank you again Gil is is the best Christmas present so far." having thanked him she heads off to her carriage and tells the driver to take her to Penrith.

Watching Smom leave, Gil stands on the hill overlooking he new manor, his hands planted firmly on his hips and a satisfied look on his face.

"Well tis all but finished Gil." Says his engineer friend, from a little off to the side...

"Yes and ye've done a marvellous job yet again my old friend."

Gil looks to the ground a moment in contemplation and laughs shaking his head, clearing it of whatever thoughts he had.

"Smom was truly pleased for which I am glad. She has her home now for Christmas." Gil continued... "Come, let me buy you that drink I owe you!"

Returning to the Manor briefly, Molly felt drained, although the birth had gone well and Smoms family had been a tremendous help, it had been a long day and night.
Although tired she had work to do, she gathered the staff in the kitchen

Happy New Year to you all, I bring you news M'lady Smom has given birth to twins, she wil be returning home soon. I want this place spic and span, now you all know your jobs and your place, let us all be ready for the mistress's return.
Turning to the cook Please make sure there is always hot water avaliable for tea and prepare a pot of Broth, just in case... NOW everyone get to it!
Molly smiled maybe she had been a bit harsh to the staff, but she understood the responsibilty entrusted to her by Smom and she was determined Morgan Manor would be the best run household in the country
Besides even if Smom said nothing she knew M'lady Richgrams would if things were not right

OOC: I wanted to physically be in Penrith when the babies were born, but since they came early I am still not here yet. Will be in Kendal tomorrow. Can't wait to see my new cousins. For now I will role play as if I'm there. Was glad to be in Sotonian Lodge when they were born. Need to finish my rp there..hehe

Molly decides its time to check the Manor so she knows it is ready for the families return. Starting first with the with the Gardens close to the house, knowing Smom and M'lady Richgrams enjoy a walk in the garden or just to sit and have a quiet cup of tea together.



Satisfied with what she sees, Molly spots the gardener and his assistant she walks over to them "Thank you George you and your assistants a have done a wonderful job M'lady will be pleased, now you take yourselves up to the kitchen and see Rosie, tell I said you can have some fresh baked scones with your tea"

Molly hoped the staff would respond to her, she had learnt from Lord Casey that people responded to kindness and being rewarded for a job wel done, he had told her back then that using a carrot and not a stick brought out the best in people made them feel appreciated, thinking back to the dark times pior to joining Smoms household she remembered the cruelty and suffering inficted on the staff by her previous mastershe quitely said to herself Morgan Manor was going to be a happy house for family and staff alike

She left the garden into the Manor, alot of rooms to check and so little time

Heading up the staircase in the mian entrance, Molly went to her left to the end of the passage entering the chambers Of Smom



Looking around,checking for dust she saw everything was in order, going to the room next door, this was to be the most important room in the Manor now



Molly checked everything, even to making sure that no draughts would blow anywhere near the cots.

She made sure her cot was out of the way, she would sleep here untill the hildren were older, so that they were not unattended during the night.

Leaving the nursery she went to the room across the hall

M'lady Richgrams chambers





Good she mused everything is ready here, she opened a window slightly to allow in some fresh air, leaving the room she went back to Smoms Chamber for one last check, looking out the window she saw Smoms carriage entering the groundsOh my theyre here! she gasped and bolted out the door callind the staff to assemble in the Hallway as she ran

Arriving at the Manor holding her son, Rohnan, Smom looks over at her mom holding Gillianna and smiles "Looks like we are almost home. I am so happy Molly came ahead of us." looking down into the sleepy baby's face "Well Master Rohnan this is your home. Welcome to Morgan Manor."

Letting her mother and new daughter enter first, Smom walks in so Molly can close the door and keep the chill out of the home. Looking at the staff she nods "Molly you have done a wonderful job." she says as she looks around seeing everything in place and the staff lined up.

A messenger approaches the Morgan Manor and slows at the door. He knocks on the door. "G'day, I am a messenger from the town of Reading to bring a message for Baroness Shriekersmom, Lord Derwydden, and Baron Gilanthius Rosedragon. Will you please make sure that they recieve this formal invitation from my Lord and Lady of Reading. Thank you." He leaves the invitations with the butler and rides away from the Manor.

Thank You Smom, now i have taken the liberty of putting my cot in the nursery so the children are not unattended, I trust this meets your approval.

Looking at Molly "Tea would be lovely and I am fine with you sleeping near the twins. I do have to nurse them before they go down to sleep, could you bring the tea to the nursery I will be feeding them there. And Molly....see that none of the staff is near as I will be exposed." she quickly smiles and follows her mother upstairs so she can nurse the twins.

Entering the nursery her mother hands her Gilly. Walking to the chair, sitting and getting comfortable Smom starts to nurse the babies. A feeling that all is right with the world comes over her. As Molly enters the room with her tea and a surprise of scones, that Molly thinks of everything, how lucky she is to have her, "Molly has anyone heard from Lord deGrey? I know he is busy with Military business for the crown but, I was hoping to hear from him. I suppose he will when he has time, it is one thing I knew when I accepted his proposal he will be gone more than here and I will never know when." she sighs "Such is my fate for falling in love with such a man. I would not change it."

Moving Gilly, who has stopped nursing to her shoulder to burp her while her brother nurses away happily. Smom is amazed at how natural it feels to have these two in her life. After a cute tiny baby burp that makes her giggle "Molly would you mind laying Gilly down? Seems little Rohnan was born with his daddies appetite, that man sure could eat." she laughs at the memories, then wonders if Brad eats as much, did her brothers? She knew Caissa had a love of good food but thought it was from the lack of a good home cooked meal while he traveled for the church. Maybe all men ate like this. Rohnan finally finished nursing and Smom moved him to her shoulder, humming as she burped him.

Molly place Gillianna in her crib, humming a gentle lullaby, she went and poured some tea and put a scone on a plate for Smom she put the cup and plate on the small table next to her. Smom would you mind if i joined you, so we can chat about what you want in the household or anything else so I can make this time easier for you

"Molly I would love the company as I don't want to sleep but watch these two. It is so hard to believe they are mine. I loved Illy and Rath when I adopted them but this is so very different. Don't get me wrong I love Illynya with all that I am, she will always be my little girl but, the feeling I get when I see these two is stronger yet the same.....does that make sense? Or am I just a silly new mother?" realizing she is rambling on "Molly please sit and join me. Did I hear whispers correctly earlier is my niece Mini in town?"

Thank you Smom Molly poured herself a cup of tea, taking a scone she sits near Smom, but so she is blocking her view.
Yes Smom your niece M'lady Mini is near I have sent a messenger to her, oh before I forget the Guest room for her is ready, she will be next to M'lady Richgrams, I thought you would want her in this wing of the house

Taking a sip of her tea, Molly mused just how lucky she was in this household, allowed privilages above her station.

Smom is it alright for me to get the stablehands to exercise Roi, Anzac, Dublin,Conquistadore and the others they are getting alittle fat from not enough excerie due o the weather and the feed here is particually good

Sipping her tea as they talk "Oh Molly I would be so lost without you here. Yes by all means have them worked and send to Lord MacBratney's for the wolfhounds I have a stable boy watching them there. I do not want those mini horses in the house, Rollie is bad enough but they should be home with us." she shakes her head "Why people think big dogs are good is beyond me."

Looking past Molly she can only see one of her babies and strains a bit to see if she can see the other, then gives up. "Have you managed to find the staff we need here in Cumberland?"

I really feel we need a Butler, to give the house a more formal touch, especially when entertaining, but I fear we will not find one here


Molly felt a slight chill, she got up and stoked the fire and close the ajar window, she went to the table and picked up the teapot

"Yes, please" she offers her cup to get some more tea "Do we really need a Butler? I suppose it would only be proper. Maybe we will need to send an advert to a London to get one." Smom ponders the idea of a butler and almost chokes on her tea as she can see Gil's face if one were to answer the door to him. "Molly picture Lord Rosedragon's reaction." she continues giggling feeling at ease with Molly like she can't with her peers.

Having bid them good night, Richgrams crosses the hall to her room, where she finds April standing beside the table. The table holds not only a bowl of broth, but a deliciously looking crusty piece of bread.
"Well done, April. How thoughtful of you. We will get along just fine.
Please put another log on the fire before you go.
Get a good night's sleep, as I'll be needing you to help me unpack in the morning."

Yes Smom an advert in London for a butler would be the best idea, I can run your household well enough for you, but a good butler will be the face of Morgan Manor.

Molly muses over how Smom is at ease with her, a butler would help take thier familiarity out of the public eye, she was all to aware how people just loved to gossip

While sipping her tea with Molly a knock is heard at the door "Who might that be?" without answering Molly gets up to answer it and speaks softly to a maid so Smom can't hear then closes the door again. She returns with two pieces of mail and hands them to Smom.

Looking at the first:


"How nice. Grundal and Ana are finally to be wed. We are getting a new family member soon." she smiles and places the invite to the side before opening the next. It was official looking and from the Court of Heraldry.

a messenger arrives at Morgan Manor..Huffing and Puffing..hed just travelled from Kendal Carrying a letter from a young woman with raven black hair..plaited into a braid, the boy had asked her name and why shew aqnted this letter delivered so urgently..she said she would pay him 50 pounds once he returned after the letter was delivered he agreed and left immediately carrying this important letter to be given to Baroness Smom...now here he was at this womans home, he knocked and a servant answered the door

What business do you have here sir?

he nodded and said..

this letters to be given to Baroness Smom immediately, its from a young woman named Adrianna Stewart, she said she was a friend of hers..she wrote this in kendal and sent me here to deliver it

Her conversation with Molly was interrupted by a servant girl bringing a letter, upon reading the letter Smom gets a perplexed look on her face and ponders the letter, glancing back at it several times.

"Molly, it seems young Adrianna Stewart is going to be coming home in February. She has requested your assistance once more, I fear I can't spare you now with the added workload of the Castle. Could you please find a suitable replacement and then send a letter off to her informing her of whom will be in her service upon her return? I do not want her unattended in her condition but I just can't do without you at this time." making sure Molly understood her before going on "Now if you will excuse me I shall be heading off to sleep. Should the babies wake please bring them to me to nurse. Thank you Molly for being here but, we really should think of hiring a Nanny for when our duties call us elsewhere, one who is a wet nurse would be most welcome at this time. Goodnight." Smom heads off to try to get some sleep as she has had a busy new year so far.

Sitting straight up in bed, her breathing rapid as she is in a panic "MOLLY, MOLLY hurry I need you" she pulls the sheet up to her neck, oh please let it not be.

She hopes Molly hurries, her dream was too vivid to not be a warning of some kind. Her babies......her babies were in danger. To paniced now to just sit and wait she rushes into the nursery to make sure they are ok. Oh Jah, please let them be ok.

Someone took the twins. Oh Molly please go and have the guard doubled, tripled if the men are close, I won't be able to rest till I know we are safer. I would feel better if brad were here but, England needs him, I must wait." looking at Molly "Please Molly, indulge me tonight. Tomorrow I will see if I feel better."

Smom please calm down, your safe your babies are safe, now you lie on my cot, sleep here near your babies, I will go get guards at the doors and your mothers room too! Now Lay down I will be back very soon!

Molly rushed down stairs to the Captain of the guards quarters near the kitchen.She burst in the door and woke up the man in his bed

WAkE UP! WAKE UP you lazy oaf!The man stat up rubbing his eyes

Smom has had a bad dream, she fears there is a plot to attack her and the babies. I want guards posted outside M'lady richgrams room, the nursery and smoms Chamber NOW!, call out the rest of the guard have them stand to thier posts. NO ONE and I MEAN no one is to be allowed in the house unless under escort. NOW GET YOURSELF MOVING!!!!!

Molly ran back to the nursery and sat with Smom Smom good you are calm now, I have turned out the guard, guards as we speak are out side the doors of your mothers room your chambers and the nursery. I have given orders on-one is to enter the house unless escorted. Now would you like to stay here witht the children, use my bed, I will sleep in a chair.

Smom you are not being silly, its better to be safe than sorry, you go and lock your door, I will make us some tea, while you feed one of the babies. I will bring the other to you so you can feed it when you are ready.
I have locked the nursery door and will lock the door into your chambers once we are inside. Molly handed Smom Rohnan, then went to the fire and got some hot water for the tea, she took the tea into the bedroom and poured two cups, placing a cup next to Smom, she went and brought Gilliana into the room locking the door behind her. She sat next to Smom gently holding Gillianna

After having fed the twins the 4 of them lay down and Smom finally sleeps peacefully, upon waking the next morning she notices Molly already up and stoking the fire. Looking next to her she see Rohnan munching on his little hand and knows he is hungry, she brings him closer to nurse while looking at Gillianna's pretty little face. She thinks to herself she was pretty silly to worry so last night.

He followed her through the manor. For a brief moment Gil almost thought himself back in Bracknell Manor near Reading. He shook his head to clear the images and focused on Molly's back.

Seeing Gil out of the corner of her eye as she spoke to her mother, Smom turns and smiles "Gil do come in, I believe there is a young lady here you are dying to meet." she walks over to where little Gillianna is sleeping and gently picks her up. With her daughter sleeping peacefully she walks over to Gil. "If you take a seat I will let you hold your little goddaughter. I will be making arrangements soon for the baptism and adoption. And don't worry you won't break her." she smiles and giggles as she gently places Gilly in Gil's arms. Seeing her best friend holding her daughter she hoped it was enough of a distraction to calm her mother down, there was a small Army outside guarding the Manor, all would be well.

With Gils arrival Molly saw Richgrams and Smom relax, she felt more at ease herself. Knowing that a man being present made them all feel safer.
Molly makes a mental note to get an advertisement off to London for a Butler, so as to increase the male presence in a household dominated by women.

Molly takes up a plate of cakes fresh from Gils bakery and offers them around

With Gil and her Mother with the babies she takes the time to return to her room. Once in her room, she takes a couple of deep breaths ands decides to write to her beloved Bradley. She understands why he is away yet misses him just the same. Sitting at her desk she turns and looks out the window for a bit gathering her thoughts after a few moments she picks up her quill dipping it into the inkwell she begins to write......

Having chatted with Gil for some time, Richgrams excuses herself. She has to get dressed for the day she has planned in town.
Back in her room, April helps her wash and dress.
The guard insists that she be accompanied by a bodyguard today. So be it.
The day is too lovely to waste indoors.
She is extremely tired when she returns that night, and plans on sleeping well before the next day dawns.

Coming back to the Manor in between council sessions to nurse her babies was wearing her out. "Molly could you come in here for a moment" she said as she passed her in the hall on the way to the nursery. Picking up Little Rohnan first as he always had the bigger appetite she sat down in the chair and started to nurse him. Seeing Molly walk in she looked at her with her tired eyes "Oh Molly please tell me you have found a wet nurse to give me some relief. I think when I am finished nursing Rohnan I will take Gilly to my room so I may catch a nap while she nurses. Even a few minutes rest will do me a world of wonders in council later." she looks at Molly waiting for a reply and yawns, her eyelids feeling like they are made of iron ore. "I am coming to learn my limits. I also need my beauty sleep before the wedding. One good thing about nursing..... it will help me fill out the top of my wedding gown." she giggles at the thought.

Looking down at her son"My they do grow so fast don't they?" she notices how his little features have filled out and changed in the few weeks since his birth, so much like his father he was, she held him a bit tighter as she thought of her late husband. Suddenly a thought crossed her mind would the children she would have someday with Brad look like him, would Brad love her children all equally? He would be the only father these two would ever know. Of course he would she should not worry, it must just be prewedding gitters. She had doubts last time too.

Shaking the thoughts from her mind as Rohnan chomps down hard bringing her thoughts back to the here and now, she looks at Molly awaiting answers.

Smom I engaged a wet nurse to start in the morning, her name is Wendy. It was not easy to find one well versed in the ways of a house such as the House of Morgan. Opening the letter and reading it Smom starts crying, with tears streaming down her face she tosses the letter on her desk and throws herself upon her bed as the sobs continue. How will she go on without him? Looking over at the nursery a new wave of tears hits as she recalls him just being here holding little Gilly in his arms.

Riding horse Wildfire through town of Penrith, to learn her surroundings. Ah! Slowly stop and dismounting she walk up the Cap'n Morgan's tavern. Well I'm in the right place. She says. Walking into the tavern she as the young man behind the bar for direction to the Morgan Manor.

After receiving direction, she heads back to her horse and heads in that direction. Coming up the path to the front of Morgan Manor she drawing the reins on her horses and quickly dismounts. Taken a few deep breath of the fresh air, she wonder if that would work. Nothing seem to be relieving her upset stomach .

Stepping to the door Tasite knocks waiting on someone to answer.

After having a good cry, Smom gets up and washes her face "I will be fine Molly, we will discuss it later. What I need now is some fresh air, I am going to go take Roi out for a ride."

Heading to the door she hears a knock and waves off the girl heading to open it, in order to answer the door herself.

Opening the door she almost falls backwards in shock when she shes who is there, taking a second for it to truly register she rushes forward and grabs her visitor in a hug "Tasite....How? When? I please tell me I am not seeing things and you are truly here at my door my friend." squeezing her a bit tighter she realizes she is making her friend uncomfortable and releases her. Holding her at arms length she looks at Tasite closely now. "You alright my friend? Your color is a bit off come inside lets have some tea and catch up."

Ringing for a servant..... as soon as one appears "Lady Tasite and myself will be in the parlor bring us some tea and biscuits." looking at Tasite she wonders if she is ok or if the trip was just a hard one but just in case " And make sure you bring some ginger tea as well."

Turning as the door opens and seeing Smom, Tasite yell "SURPRISE" then laughs.

Hugging Smom back she feel her squeezing tightly, [b]Honey it's really me and how is a long story. Feeling a bit peaked she smile at Smom. Now that the million dollar question. I'm thinking its something I ate, but I'm not sure when or where. Because it seem to coming and going for a bit now and it happen more often now.

Hmm! Some tea sound heavenly dear, thank you...as she follow her into the parlor..

Reading the letter Smom starts to tear then remembers her friend is here, she can deal with the duel letters later. Now she has a guest, well more than a guest one of her best friends, my how she has missed Tasite.

"Molly would you mind making Tasite some of your famous Ginger tea. It always helped my stomach when I was..." looking at her friend "Oh my Tas, do you think you might possibly be? Tasite Ming are you with child?"

Molly left the parlour and went tot he kitchen, where she ground some Ginger and placed just the right amount in a pot and added boiling water. Taking up the pot she returned to the parlour, where she poured a cup of the Ginger tea

Now M'lady Tasite, drink this, just small sips mind and it will ease any queezeness you are feeling

Looking at Smom, Tasite wonder if she was ok. Sipping her tea slowly when Smom ask do she believe she with child. While swallowing her drink she starts to choking a little. "AH! WHAT! Me pregnant I never really thought I could be, but I cause I been so busy that I have found the time what really wrong.

Thank you Molly. Yes I will sips slowly. I must admit the queasiness starting to wear me down.

Smom I never gave that any thought. Maybe its possible but I wouldn't know how to find out for sure dear.

Turning to Smom "I know one thing I will need to do and that is buy new clothes it seems like everything is shrunk. Nothing it fitting anymore. Elson with his bad self as been teasing me by saying for someone that can't hold her food down. It really looks like I'm putting on weight."

Looking at her friend a bit closer "Loss of appetite and weight gain, my dear friend I do believe you may be in need of my recent wardrobe. Do come to my chambers before you leave you are welcome to anything. I think the twins may have a new playmate or two in a few months." she giggles.

"Molly, I may be wrong but I think Tasite is with child. Would you mind checking on her at least every other day? And do give her some of your special tea blend to take with her to her sisters." she nods towards Molly in a knowing way as she speaks.

Turning back to her friend "Tasite if you feel overwhelmed staying with another at anytime, as I know Elson likes his independence, I have a guest cottage that I have had built in case I have several family members visiting with friends. You are welcome to stay there until the two of you decide where you would like to live. My home and the guest cottage are alway available to you." glancing over at Molly "Someday I will have the castle in order and ready for guests. Doing some remodeling and decorating currently but, slowly as my plate has been full lately."

Looking at her friend she starts to giggling. "Me pregnant how is that possible. Ok I know how its possible but we are very busy" she stops talking for a min and looks bewilder.

Hearing Smom words in the back of her head “I think the twins may have a new playmate or two in a few months” Her facial expression went blank before she answers. A playmate or two?! Has she tries to make a feeble attempted at laughing.

Stilling trying to let Smom word sink in. When she hear her offer the guess cottage to her. "Thank you dear. I'm not sure what that husband of mine wants to do right now but I will be sure to tell him of your generous offer." I know Elson. He is going to want something of his own. Soon.

Walking to the window. Tasite sees an extraordinary guest cottage and a wonderful view. My goodness that is beautiful dear..

Speaking of which." turning to Molly "Molly dear I have heard rumor my cousin Collen and some of the soldiers he travels with are to be in town. Please have the cook prepare a nice meal for dinner. Collen has said he will take evening meals with us when he arrives. I am sure he will not be alone. And he knows he can bring the whole regiment if need be and I would gladly feed them all. It is the least I can do for England. So be a dear and alert the staff we could have one or dozens of guests soon."

Looking back at Tasite "I would love for you and Elson to join us if Brianna lets you out of her sight. She must be so happy to have you close by as well."

Molly closed the door behind him, took his hat and cape, handing it off to a chambermaid Annie take these to a guest room, then bring some refreshments to the parlour, theres a good girl
Molly motion the way as she led the gentleman to the parlor
Entering the parlour.

Smom a gentleman to see you, I have taken the liberty of assigning a guest room for him to use, refreshments will be served directly

Looking up from her stitching as the door to the parlor opened she sees a familiar face, a smile crosses her face as she stands up and greets her guest half way.

"Decus, I almost had to take a double take when you walked in. How are you my friend." she hugs him politely "I wondered if you would be visiting when I heard Collen's group would be near. Please come in and join me for some tea and something to eat. You do know I must now insist you stay here at the Manor with me during your time here in Penrith." smiling as the tea arrives she pours him a cup and hands it to him before she gestures to the platter of goodies that was sent in with it.

"How is your family? I have meant to write but have been a bit busy getting settled in, I now feel I must write Levoc at least to tell her I have seen you and you are in one piece still. I know the letters I received when Siterath was away were priceless. Do tell me of your travels." she pours herself a cup of tea and sips it as she waits to hear the tales of her friends travels.

"When I heard we would be traveling through Penrith on our patrol, I couldn't keep myself away. I would be honored to stay here at your manor." He grinned happily at her, and entered the room.

"Last I heard the family is doing great, it's hard to keep contact when we're on the move all the time. Levoc said the twins have grown exceptionaly. I'm not sure I'll even recognize him when I get back!" He smiled widely then let it fade,"As always it is hard to be away from those you love, and I'm sure Levoc would appriciate a letter from you."

Accepting the tea, he looked up at Smom, "Enough of me, how are you, M'lady? I'm sure I can speak for my entire family, and much of Wiltshire, when I say we have certainly missed your company in the south."

Taking a deep breath she smiled "I miss Wiltshire and all of my friends there, I always will. I know leaving there was the right thing for me. The memories of future plans I had with Kieran were too much to bare. I could not look around without a thought flooding my mind. I needed to leave Bracknell to start a life without him in my every thought." she pauses to take a sip of tea gathering her thoughts before continuing "I will always have a part of him with me and now that the twins have come I can see him in their little faces. They are growing almost as fast as Sydney and Dante are. I do miss them and Levoc so very much but, I am sure not as much as you. It is so good to see you again." she places her cup down "Now let me have one of the staff show you to a room so you may freshen up and rest a bit if you would like before dinner. Any special requests for the evening meal? Any thing you like, name it and it is yours, Molly keeps the Manor well stocked."

Turning to Molly "Can you get one of the girls to help Sir MacClaren to his room?"

Not feeling comfortable having an employee she feels is family standing while she eats, Smom looks at Molly "My home my rules. Molly please join us you are a member of the family while under this roof." she motions her to sit. "The food tastes even better than it looks."

Turning to her Mother "Our guest is Sir Decus McClaren, he was from Reading. he moved to Marlborough with his brother Ulysses Wolfen McClaren while living there my friend from Salisbury Levoc passed through and they fell in love. I as you may recall I gave her away at their wedding. Levoc was once married to Tropinha King and had twins with him Sydney and Dante. I am their godmother and Ulysses is their godfather so you might say they were destined to meet." taking a sip of wine "Shall we chat or eat?"taking a bite of lamb she smiles as it almost melts in her mouth."One last thing, I am expecting another guest soon."

Why thank you Smom Molly took a seat at the table, thanked a steward for the food he served her.I am happy to report that we are almost self sufficiant now, we have good stocks of sheep and cattle, also the gamekeeper tells me that deer are in abundance. The staff have done a wonderful job we will be supplying other family residences in the next few months, Morgan Manor will be the envy of all England!

Who says we need men to be prosperous? Whomever it is has not been here yet." she raises her glass as she toast then takes a drink, happy to be in such good company. She hopes Decus is ok up in his room, maybe she will check on him later when she goes up to bathe the twins and feed them for the night. Her breasts are a bit swollen as Wendy did the last feeding.

Here she was a humble lass from humble upbringing, sharing a table with the heads of one of the most noble families in the country. She thought how proud her parents would be if they could see her now.

And his crimson scarf taught about the neck did flutter. His dark brown locks tumbled about, born upon the winter breeze. Jersey Rocket were postured outside, amid the meandering flowers, and the creeping vine, from within he heard the sound of dining. The residents of the estate he would not startle, not by arriving unbidden to dinner that is, he remained yet outside, soon he knew there they'd come filing one by one, outside in the evening to walk the garden paths.

He bent now, and smelled a particular blossom, 'This were jasmine.' he remarked unto himself, and then busied his hands being sure that the basket he bore still held it's contents safely inside.

Decus awoke rather groggily and shifted to let the light stream in on his face.

He stood quickly and rubbed his eyes now completely awake, how could he have slept so long! He glanced out the window to view the sun past its peak in the sky, and beginning its downward path to evening. By this time he must have missed dinner!

Striding to the washbasin he splashed some cold water over his face and rubbed the freshly shaven chin, making sure he hadn't missed any stray stubble. Changing quickly into something clean and suitable, he gathered his things into his pack, and set them by the bed for the morning.

He moved out into the hall trying to remember the direction back to the parlour The intricate halls were adorned beautifully, it seems he had been too caught up in the designs then the direction he had come.

Standing sheepishly in the hall he looked right then left. Finally deciding on the left, he walked shyly down the hall, ashamed at having missed his hostess’ dinner.

He heaved the heavy locks of hair from his face, wherein they did fall right back into place. You'd nary think he could see through such a thickness, but he were able, beloved, you had better believe.

'You may ask my name too, and my business,' he shifted nervously, turning his attention to Rich, for he were accustomed to more dainty pleasantries, and had not even warranted a curtsy thus far, 'But yet do you not already know of me Dame Morgan? We have met on at least two occasions over tea, and ale, at the Morgan tavern even.'

'And we are quick to presume it is Smom i come calling on, but this is not the case. Though i be a friend indeed, and bear a favor in my basket for her to confirm said friendship, i am Jersey, a son of Rocket, and as one might tell by the cap i bear in my hand 'ere, i've arrived as bidden to work, to sow a wheat, for it is best done just 'fore the sun do set. Does the lady RichGrams still wish me to set my hand to that task? Or would i kindly return the wages she hath given me, and consider our contract null?'

Rushing in the kitchen door Smom puts a finger to her lips as the cook sees her, making her way up the back stairs, she hopes no one noticed her gone. Regardless she was happy she went to the tavern to check on supplies. Her new bartender should always have what he needs on hand to keep the customers happy.

As she hurried up the backstairs and down the hall to the nursery she absent mindedly started to fiddle with the fastening of her blouse, in a rush to feed her children and did not see him till she bumped right into him. Gasping as she realized she was not alone in the hall she gripped her blouse closed tightly "Uh...Hi Decus." she said as she is blushing and flustered " Please forgive me I was in a rush. The babies are over due to be fed." suddenly wondering why he would be in this part of the hall as his room was not near "If you are lost my friend have no fear, had I not worked on the plans for this Manor I too would be lost often" she pauses to collect herself more "If you keep going forward and down the stairs you will reach the Kitchen, as you pass through let the cook know you are ready for dinner. As soon as I am done with the babies I will meet you I the dining room for desert. So nice seeing you refreshed. Have to run now." and she passed him and walks into the nursery.

Smiling as she picks up Rohnan to feed him first, as he alway seem to be the greedy one. "And how is my little man tonight?" she giggles as she holds him up for a moment listening to him coo, before sitting down and starting to feed him.

Stopping at another cross ways between halls, he sat, nearly scratching his head in confusion. "Surely this way?" He thought growing evermore frustrated over his sense of direction failing him. Having stood for a moment, he was quite startled when a figure bumped into him from behind. Startled he turned quickly, fully ready for a fight. Tilting his head quizzically when he realized it was Smom, he smiled sheepishly at the situation.

"I.. I'm not lost, just well...I suppose your manor does do a good job of confusing people." He ran his hand through his hair abashedly and nodded his head politely as she passed him.

He turned in the direction Smom had given him, wondering how this direction had not occurred to him before. Reaching the kitchen he informed the cook, and sat to eat the most delicious meal he had eaten in weeks.

Entering the nursery, Molly saw Smom with Rohnan so she checked on Gillianna My young Master Rohnan is growing so quickly, he's so much like his father, mark my words he will be quite the charmer when he gets older and Miss Gillianna will be a heart breaker too

"Molly I think I will skip the tea for now. Would you mind burping Rohnan while I nurse Gilly? I would like to get them down and have dessert with my guests. Did I hear earlier Jersey Rocket is here? Or were the chambermaids just gossiping again?" she hands Rohnan to Molly and picks up Gilly stretching a bit before placing her on her other breast to nurse. "Some days I know what a Dairy cow feels like. " she looks down at her her daughter "But I wouldn't change a thing. These two were the best gift Kieran ever gave me. Some days I miss him so very much. I can see him when I look at the babies and know part of him is here with me and that gives me some piece of mind. Guess it never goes away when you love someone so very much." a tear trickles down her check as memories of her deceased husband flash through her thoughts. After a bit she realized Gilly is done and has fallen asleep. Not wanting her to sleep with a bubble in her tummy she places her on her shoulder and wakes her as she burps her, when she is done she places her near her brother in the crib to sleep. Bending over she kisses each of them lightly "Goodnight my little loves."

"Molly shall we go have dessert with the others now?"and heads out of the nursery.

Slowly I make my way up the path toward Morgan Manor. When I finally see the Manor, it takes my breath away. It is a far cry from my little hut. It is so splendid. I feel really out of place with just my loin cloth. But SM invited me and I can’t let my pride slow me down.

I must thank Molly when I see her and I am really interested in meeting the cook of the manor to get some cooking tips that I can use at the tavern.

I stand before the door and take a deep breath. Boldly I stand myself straight and knock…..

As she goes to see where Decus is she almost enters the kitchen when she sees him eating. Watching him for a moment as he enjoys his meal so very much before she enters and speaks. "Decus we are going to be eating dessert in the dining room if you care to join us when you finish your meal." she smiles at him and speaks quietly to Penny her cook about her new bartender coming for recipes before leaving to rejoin her mother and Molly in the dining room.

Entering the room she sees they have been joined for dessert. "Hello, sorry for my late entrance, welcome to my home. It is a pleasure to have you here. Shall we have some wine and dessert? It looks wonderful."

SM catches me off guard as I hadn’t even had a chance to say, 'Hi' to Richgrams or Coyotee. Standing there foolishly all I could say was, ‘Thank you very much my Lady…. It is a honor to be here.’

Quickly I turn to the others, ‘ Nice to see you again Lady Richgrams. Your spirit always makes me smile.’ And turning to Coyotee, ‘It is always good to see you.’

I turn and bow slightly to Lady Shriekersmom. ‘Thank you so much for the invite.’

‘I do so wish to meet your cook……. Polly’ no that isn’t right… ‘Excuse me Milady…. I am a sore sorts with names… Can remember numbers all day long, but Without a face, I have a hard time with a name.’ I bow my face feeling like a fool. Should I sit, or should I stand echos in my mind. So, I stand there……

Lost, in the memories of home, he takes another bite of the tender meat, when he hears Smom speak. Quickly standing he swallows the bite, and smiles happily at her, "M'lady it would be a pleasure to join you for desert, in fact, I believe I have just finished up here.” As Smom finishes speaking to the cook and turns to leave, he himself speaks happily to the cook, “It has been quite long since such a wondrous meal has touched my lips. You have my enduring gratitude, M’am.” He bows his head politely to her before turning to follow Smom into the dining room. Smiling politely at the several people, he waits several paces behind Smom, as she speaks to the guests.

Hearing her mother mention Decus she turns as she sees movement behind her. "Everyone this is my dear friend Decus from Wiltshire County.'' "Decus this is my Cousin Coyotee Degas and the best bartender I have had so far Scott Schwinn, Mother you have met I believe at my wedding." smiling at her guests she takes a seat and waits to be served.

"I shall be leaving shortly for a few days. I am going to go visit my cousins in Southampton. Do feel free to stay and visit with Mother and Molly in my stead."

Decus smiles and nods his thanks tp Smom for the introductions, he approaches Smom's mother and bows slightly taking her hand and gently kissing it,

He nods his greeting to the two men, moving to offer a strong handshake to both of them, "As always it is a pleasure to meet any of Lady Smom's family and friends." He smiles at the two men, and then takes a seat at the table. "As for me," He speaks to Smom, "I must be leaving early in the morn. Your hospitality has been greatly appreciated. You must know that you are welcomed at any time at the MacClaren manor, Levoc and I would love to have you visit.”

MiniPhoenix finally reached Penrith after travelling from Largs. Coughing from her cold, she walked up to her Auntie Smom's estate and knocked on the door. Shivering, she wrapped the cloak closer around her. Mini wondered how long until the servants answered the door and decided she could not wait as it was freezing outside. She openned the door and stepped inside the Manor, quickly closing the door behind her.

"Hello! Auntie Smom!" Mini shouted, pausing to cough. She looked around and scooted in the direction of the fire.

As she is listening to Decus's plans to leave in the morning and invitation to visit his family home, Smom hears a voice and quickly excuses herself from the room "Decus I am so glad I was able to make your stay in Penrith easier. I shall come visit you when the weather is warmer. If you would all excuse me I think I have another guest." Turning to Molly "Where are all the staff? You might want to come with me."

As she heads toward where the noise came from she see Mini standing near the fireplace looking pale and cold. When she hears her cough she quickens her step."Mini are you ok? Lets get you out of these travel clothes and into something warm dry and clean. And some warm liquids too. Then I think maybe off to bed for a bit, you look and sound like you need it." she hugs her niece as she starts to lead her to a room.

"Molly please go into my room and gather what you think Mini might need. Then send word to the kitchen to send warm soup up I am taking her to one of the guest suites. Oh and Molly see if Scott can make a Hot Totty and then send that up as well. And when done find out why none of the staff is nearby."

"Now Mini" she says as they walk toward a suite "What brings you here? You do realize you are now trapped for I will not let you leave my home until well. And if I can't prevent you from leaving your grandmother will. Welcome to Morgan Manor sweetie, consider yourself at home. I will send word to Glad and Daniel that you are here and well cared for. So lets do that so you may rejoin them soon."

Yes Smom Molly rushed out of the room, barking instructions too the staff. Reaching Smoms room she found some suitable clothes and headed to the guest room.

Here we are Smom, warm dry clothes. Soup will be here directly and the staff have been advised of yours and my displeasure! I will ensure what happened never happens again

Molly went to the fire and stoked it so it was blazing freely casting its warmth through the room

upon hearing the commotion and SM's request of me, I hurrily make my way to the kitchen. Feeling lost in there I inquire about a few ingredience I need for the Toddy. (Tea leaves, Brady, Lemon, and Honey should do it...) The cook quickly helps me find all the ingredients and gets me a small pot of water.

In short time the water is boiling and I add the tea leaves and wait till they have given up they soothing flavors. I cut the lemon into wedges and pour the tea into a mug the cook provided. I drop in one lemon wedge and add a good sampling of brandy and a dabb or so of honey. Stir is a bit and take a little taste with the spoon. (Perfect! Me mum would be proud...)

I hand it to a servent and ask them to quickly get it to SM before it cools to much.

I thank the cook and quietly make my way back to the dining room.

Dessert having been enjoyed by all, it is now time to say their goodbyes.

Scott, it was so good to have you join us for dessert. I'll be seeing you

(Richgrams enjoys the sparkle in Scott's eyes, his humor, and his honesty.)

Coyotee, my newly found cousin, go with the wind.
(Richgrams admires his adventurous spirit, and his charm.)

Ducas, your visit has made Smom, and so me too, very happy. Please extend our good wishes to your wife.
Have a restful night, and be sure to eat a good breakfast before you leave in the morning.
(Richgrams instructs a steward to escort Ducas to his room and to supply him with a drawing of the pathway to the kitchen.
She also instructs the cook to have food ready for Ducas to take with him on his journey.)

Being satisfied with things downstairs, Richgrams sets out to find Smom and Molly.

"Thanks so much. I should have sent a message ahead to tell you that I was coming in from Scotland. The long journey through the back country was a bit much for me."

Mini sees Molly Rose bring in some dry clothes.

"Thank you!"

Mini changes and puts on a comfy robe and sits down on a sofa next to her Auntie Smom. A servant brings in some hot drinks from the kitchen.

"Auntie, you have a very good chef, it seems. This is the best Toddy I have had in a long time."

Mini takes another sip.

"How've things been, Auntie? How are the babes?"

Returning to the guest room with some servants carrying some trays of piping hot food and drink, Molly saw Richgrams, she knocked politely and opened the door.
After you Richgrams, I brought up some supper and drinks for all. Mini is alright just very cold, but this will warm her through nicely

Following Richgrams into the room, Molly motioned for the servants tp put thier trays on the table and leave.

Now M'lady Mini, eat some of this fine beef stew, it will warm you from the inside out!

Waiting for all the hustle and bustle to settle down she sits and watches her niece, noticing the color returning to her cheeks as the time passes, happy she was more chilled than ill.

"Mini, the babies are doing well, when you are warm and full I shall have Molly or your grandmother take you to see them. I wish I could but I have to leave early in the morning on a trip and I must bid you a good night soon and get some rest. I shan't be but gone but a few days so I do hope you will still be here when I return. I so do like your visits. Had I known of your visit I would not be going but I committed myself to this trip already."

As she hears her Mother ask about Daniel, she waits to hear the answer as she remembers the picture he drew her just last year that she keeps in her desk to remind her of her grandnephew.

A knock on the door wakes Molly, a young servant informs her that Wendy is unwell. Molly hurridly dresses and heads to the Nursery. On entering she sees Wendy, ashen faced, shivering, but sweating profusely.
Turning to Lilly Quickly get Wendy out of here and as far away from the children as possible, make her comfortable and warm and get her some hot broth from the kitchen. Send one of the boys here quickly, we must get word to Mistress Smom

Molly goes to the desk in Smoms chambers, takes a piece of parchment and a quill.

Mini awoke the next morning refreshed and feeling much better. Sitting at breakfast with Grandmum, she asked if she could see the twins.

She heard Molly Rose say that their nurse had fallen ill.

"Oh, that's horrible! And Auntie Smom's away too. A good thing I'm here; I can help take care of the babies."

After receiving the letter in Southampton Smom's carriage rode straight through to Penrith, having only to stop to change horses along the way. Grateful when she sees the Manor in sight she prepares herself to exit upon it's stopping. Not caring if she was lady like or not Smom rushed from the carriage into the Manor and straight into the nursery.

She knew her children weren't happy by the cries she heard as she approached. Upon entering and seeing them each with a servant trying to calm them and feed them warmed milk, she knew she couldn't have gotten back sooner but, now regretting every moment her children were without her.

Taking Rohnan into her right arm she then walks over and takes Gilly into her left before sitting down. Hurriedly she exposes herself as she feel as if she will burst as her body responds to the cries of her children, the crying stops as they both hungrily suckle as tears flow down her cheeks "I am so sorry, mum will not leave you again, I promise my little ones." closing her eyes as the guilt washes over her she knows she can never travel again without them.

Having had a good breakfast with Mini, Richgrams introduced her to the babies. That's when the wait for Smom to return began.
Richgrams and Mini tended the babes for some time and then passed them over to two servant girls.
So is was that Richgrams was resting in her room when she heard the commotion of Smom's return.
Ah, the crying stopped instantly.
She crossed the hall to the nursery.
So good to see you back my dear. Now everyone can be peaceful again.
I'll be happy to burp the first one done, while you tell me of the Ball.

I want you to strip the babies cots right away, take all of the bedding and get it to the laundry, it must be boiled . Bring back fresh bedding and get the cots made back up Thank you

Sorry I had to disturb your trip, but I could not risk the health of Rohnan and Gillianna, I am sorry to tell you Wendy is very ill, I have her quartered in the guest house with a staff member in attendance to ensure she is ok, but I fear that she will be unable to nurse for quite some time. I have prepared an advertisement for annother wet nurse if you so desire, I have also told the staff to sterilise everything. I do not wish to take any chances with the families health. Is there anything else you wish for me to do?

As first her Mother then Molly come in and speak to her she pauses as she absorbs all she hears. "Mother I will tell you of the Southampton Ball in a minute."

Turning to Molly, "I would like a wet nurse but I do not desire a new one till we know if Wendy will be returning or not. Thank you for getting the staff on the cleaning, we do not need the children or anyone else sick. Please make sure Wendy has all the care she needs. Might want to send for a doctor just in case." she pauses " And Molly, Mother and I have been invited to a Ball at Greystoke, if you could help Mother get ready I would be grateful."

"Now Mum, as for the Ball I was just at it was nice to see family, Irish and Ice look well. I did not have time to spend with Lordchus as I had wished." she paused as Gilly was done and handed her to her mother to be burped "You should see how nice they are making the old castle. I met a really nice Gentleman who was kind enough to show me around. I should have said goodbye to him but when I received Molly's note I rushed away immediately, I am sure Irish will tell him I was called away, not like I will ever see him again. So I hear Nova is going to the Ball, I do hope you finally get a chance to meet him. He will always be a good friend."

Smom I have quarantined Wendy in the guest house, with someone to care for her, I have summoned the doctor to see her and to check the children.
Molly fidgeted uneasily, the thought of a disease scared her.

Miniphoenix was excite to go to the ball with Grandmum. She couldn't wait to see her dear friend Tasite. It'd been too long. As Mini was trying to decide what to wear, she heard a whimpering cry from outside. Mini openned the window, looked out, and saw a most pathetic sight. A poor puppy dog all covered in mud!



"Don't worry, Baby. I'll get you." Mini said to the poor pooch.

Mini held off going to the ball to look after the puppy and make sure it was well. She sent a servant to tell Grandmum and Auntie Tasite she'd be late to the party as she tended to the new arrival.

Upon returning home from the Ball, exhausted and ready to feed the babies and crawl into bed for hours, Smom see a letter has been delivered while she was away. Opening the letter she reads..

Having returned home from the Ball with Smom, Richgrams, followed by April, goes straight to her room.
Hurry, April, I can't wait to get out of this dress and into my night clothes. Then please bring me up some tea and a pastry.
She lets her mind drift over the memories of the lovely Ball. The music, once it finally started, was magical. The gowns were magnificent. So many young people - you could feel the hormones in the air. Lady Bri and Tas offered some wonderful refreshments - yes, they did a superb job.

She went up stairs checking the nursery, she checked in on Richgrams and Smom, see all was well she went to her room where she dressed for bed and turned in for the night

Waking up well rested she stretches before getting out of bed. Once up she washes up and dresses for the day before going to feed the children.

Entering the nursery she smiles as she sees Gilly sleeping so peacefully and content. Going to Rohnan's crib knowing he is always the hungry one her face drops when she sees him. He is covered in a sweat and his eyes are barely open but she knows he is awake, picking him up she starts yelling "Mother, Molly....... Someone hurry.... Please Jah hurry I need help and I need it now." tears stream down her cheeks as she tried to comfort her ill son. Oh Jah why he is so young to be ill. He is burning up in her arms and she walks over to the wash basin and wets a cloth to use on him. She knew enough from watching her father, a doctor, she must control the fever. "Please someone hurry " she yells again.

Hearing Smoms call Molly leapt out of bed and bounded out of her room to the nursery, oblivious to the fact she was still in her nightgown.

Seeing Smom with Rohnan, mopping his brow with a cloth.

Whats the matter Smom?

Seeing the angst on her face she quickly realised that Rohnan must be unwell.

Stay calm Smom I will get your mother and summon the doctor

Leaving the nursery, Molly burst into Richgrams room and woke her.
Please Richgrams, quickly Smom needs you in the nursery, its Rohnan he appears to have a fever. I will summon the Doctor

Molly turned and bolted down the the stairs to the staff quarters where upon she woke them, calling young George to her.

Quickly George get to the Doctors and bring him back here right away, tell him one of Mistress Smoms Babies is ill, and he is needed now!

She then told the staff to get to work and await further instructions, before heading back upstairs. On her way back to the nursery she grabbed her robe from her room

Richgrams awoke with a start when Molly burst into her room, seemingly very upset. Doctor? Hurry? Baby? No time to clear her thoughts. She must hurry. She is needed.
She ran into the nursery to see a very upset Smom holding a wet cloth to a baby's head. Oh no, I've seen this before. If only my husband were still with us, he'd know exactly what to do.
I'm here, Smom. What can I do to help?

A relief washes over her as her mother shows up. "Mom Rohnan has a fever I don't know what to do. Father used to alway say you had to cool them so I am trying but, I have not checked Gilly. She seems ok but I only just peeked at her on my way in. Please check her and for safety sake we need to remove her to another room just in case. I can't lose them both Mother. They are all I have left of Kieran." she looks around panicky "Where is Molly, I need to have her send for a doctor." looking towards her baby girl "And a new wet nurse as soon as possible."

"Oh mom, please tell me I am panicking for nothing and all is well. Tell me Wendy is only ill with a tiny cold and not a great sickness. Tell me my baby is going to cool down and be well soon." she slumps into a chair rocking Rohnan as she tries to cool him with the cloth, under her breath can be heard 'Please Jah you took one son from me please don't take another'

MiniPhoenx rushed into the nursery to see what was the matter. Upon surveying the situation, she then leaves the room in too much of a hurry to tell anyone what she's up to. Mini grabs a cloth from the kitchen and rushes out side. She thinks to herself, 'Thank goodness it's still winter,' as she collects some snow and hurries back to the nursery.

"Here Auntie Smom. Maybe this will help until the doctor arrives?" Mini hopes it may be of some use...The snow is starting to melt, but at least it is still cold. As she stands there with snow-covered cloth, she feels really stupid for not knowing what to do.

Minding to stay a safe distance from Smom and Rohnan, Richgrams gently lifts Gilly from her crib.
Her body feels cool enough to the touch and when Gilly lets out a giggle, Richgrams knows that so far, she is well.

Try to be calmer, Smom. He can feel your panic and that won't help him. Try to sit quietly and wait for the Doctor.
Molly must have sent for him by now. She loves the children as much as we do.
Be assured, Gilly seems well. I think it best if I take her to my room.
Will you be OK now? I don't want to leave you if you're not.
Quick thinking Mini, thank you. Will you stay with Smom?

Mini stays with Auntie Smom, as Grandmum wisely takes Gillian away so she will not also become ill. Mini quickly writes a notice to be put on the door of Kirkoswald Chapel by a servant. Mini then turns to the babe and his mum. "Do you need me to get you anything?" As Mini says this she wipes a finger across Rohnan's wet forehead gathering sweat. She smells it then tastes it. "At least his sweat appears normal, not too salty."

Taking the snowy cold cloth from her niece, she smiles "You are wise beyond your years Mini Morgan, thank you." Using the cloth she wipes down her sons little body as he lays now in her lap.

After her Mother lets her know Gillianna will be ok and with her in her room Smom relaxes a bit knowing one of them is ok. Turning her attention back to Rohnan she tries to remember if father used to starve or feed those with a fever. 'Oh well, food never did anyone harm to her knowledge.' She proceeds to try to see if Rohnan will nurse but so far her normally ravenous son wants nothing to do with it. It concerns her a bit but thinks she must get his fever down before it seems. 'Oh where is that doctor' she thinks.

"Mini would you mind getting a servant to bring up more snow? It seems to be doing a better job of keeping him cool. Thank you so much." she smiles weakly at her niece before going back to trying to cool off Rohnan with the cool cloth.

''The doctor will make you all better sweetie, mommy promises." she says as she sways him in her lap as she cools him down, a few tears of concern rolling down her cheeks. She knew how often babies died from being ill.

Molly arrived back at the Manor with a young lady and an elderly man with her. Leading them upstairs to the nursery.

Smom this is Dr. Theodor Geisel, the town Physician and this is Annabell she will be our new wet nurse

Looking up as Molly enters the room, Smom listens to the introductions and watches Annabell and Molly go off towards her mothers room.

"Dr.Geisel I am so happy you are here. Rohnan was feverish when I woke today and won't eat. I have been trying to cool him d......" she is interupted when the old man grabs her son off her lap and takes him over to a table near the window.

He opens the window with her son right there in his Nappie. Before she could protest her shock he speaks "Must air out this place get rid of the humors. Boy wet himself yet?"he roughly takes off Rohnan's diaper and smells it "good good" he then proceeds to feel the baby and pinches him causing poor little sick Rohnan to make a tiny cry " he still has ability to cry that is good." he now blocks Smom's view with his body as she stands nervously waiting to hear anything "ummhmm yep hmmm" the more noise he makes the more worried Smom gets.

Finally after what feels like a lifetime he turns "This one has the same as the one in the guest house. I will send you some *Treacle from my medicinal stores I made some 15 years ago give him some with some sweets and he might get better. I suggest you pray the demons go away fast or he is not long for this world. I will come back if you need me for another. Good day Baroness Casey" and he leaves as Smom stands there trying to take in what he said in shock. A moment later she blinks and realizes her son is naked in front of a open window in the cold of winter. Hurrying to him she picks him up and hold him close to her. "Mommy is here Rohnan." she rocks him in her arms noticing he is a bit cooler but moves away from the window afraid not to listen to the doctor she leaves the window open.

Molly took the doctor down to the guest house to check on Wendy. After the doctor left she returned to the nursery Ashen Faced

Smom just so you know DR Geisel stopped by to see Wendy, its not good I am afraid she is really ill with the fever. I have someone to stay with her, but the staff are worried.
How is Rohnan is it good news that I can tell everyone?

As Molly re-enters the Nursery she looks up. Hearing of Wendy's condition her eyes start to tear up at the thought of a woman she had come to know and trust was doing so poorly. When Molly asks of Rohnan she looks at her trusted servant turned friend and shakes her head, No.

"Molly I am going to do everything in this world it is going to take to make sure this child lives to be a ripe old age. Jah will have to take me first." she looks at Molly now a few tears running down her cheeks but determined not to give up "Mini was to go see of getting some more snow, can you see what is happening? And please look in on Mother and Gilly and find out if my baby girl is well still. They both were exposed to Wendy."

She stands and paces the floor with Rohnan in her arms trying to soothe him, he is quiet but restless in her arms.

Seeing Smom's tears, Molly comforts her friend and employer.

Smom I like you will not rest until Rohnan is well, I promise I will move heaven and earth to help make it so.
I lost my mother and sister to fever, i will not lose another family member again. Jah knows this house deserves some happiness

Molly hopes she is of comfort to Smom and that she has not overstepped the mark by refering to her being family.

I will go check on Gillianna and Richgrams for you, but it is best we keep them away from Rohnan at this time. I will check my books to see if I have any herbal remedies which may assist.

Rather than her usual tiny knock and abrupt entry, Richgrams hears Molly knock softly before entering on tiptoes, so as not to disturb Gilly.
Is there news, Molly? Has the Doctor been here? What did he say?
Annabell here is a godsend and Gilly ate heartily. She seems quite well.

Richgrams the Doctor has come and gone, he has left some medicine for Rohnan, but he said its in the hands of Jah now, that we should pray. I vow that I will do all that I can to help Rohnan get well again, we have seen enough heartbreak of late

Forgive me, but you all are my family and I love each and everyone of you. But Smom and I need you to stay away from Rohnan and make sure that nothing happens to Gillianna or you. I have mixed up some herbs in to a Tea mix, its an old recipe', it is supposed to help the body ward off fevers and the like. I will leave you some here for yourself and Annabell. Now I must take some to Smom and make her some tea, I must keep her strong.

Molly placed a bag of herbs on the table and returned to the nursery

Sitting down in the chair holding Rohnan, his fever at bay for the moment, she decides to try to feed him. Although weak he does latch on and begins to eat. Finally at ease as he does, Smom starts to nod off in the chair.

Joining Smom in the nusary, Molly brews some of her herbal tea and puts a cup beside Smom, pouring one for herself and sitting with her.Se her nodding off Molly knows Smon needs to drink and keep her strength up.

Smom, please drink this tea it will help you stay strong for Rohnan and help you ward off the fever from yourself

A servant comes in carrying a bucket of snow and places it by the chair, so that the family may use the snow as needed.

MiniPhoenix speaks to her Auntie Smom, "Do you want me to help with Rohnan or Gillianna. I don't want to switch between the two and carry Rohnan's illness to Gillian, so I'd prefer to stay with one."

Groggy and tired Smom nods in agreement with Molly that Mini should stay with them then reaches over and picks up her tea to take a sip, looking down she realizes Rohnan is still in position to feed but is doing so in little spurts. Knowing they both need him to eat so they can rest she takes her finger and rubs his little cheek to spur him to drink. "That it sweetie drink and get strong."

Molly left the nursery and went to the kitchen to order some food brought up, on her return a steward handed her a letter addressed to Smom. She returned to the Nursey.


I have asked the kitchen to bring up some nice piping hot broth and fresh crusty bread rolls, we must eat and keep strong.
Smom, this letter arrived for you, I'll put it here on your table to read at your leisure

A steward arrived shortly after with the hot broth and bread rolls, placing it on the table before leaving.





The smell of the broth and fresh bread wafted through the room.

Now everyone eat up while its hot

Molly took a bowl of broth and a roll, not realizing just how hungry she was.

Inhaling the scent of the broth Smom decides to read her letter before proceeding to lay Rohnan down so she can eat in peace with nothing pending for a moment. As Rohnan finishes his meal she opens the letter and reads...

Molly wondered who this mysterious man was who was corresponding with Smom. She had heard that he was in her company in Southampton, yet no-one knew who he was

Richgrams had a hard time falling asleep - worry will do that you know.
She awoke the next morning, after having a peaceful night's sleep.
There had been no crying in the night by Gilliana, and no commotion, that she was aware of, from across the hall.
Soon April arrived with her breakfast tray.
Thank you April. Today I will dress for the outdoors.
It is my intention to travel to the Chapel and pray for Rohnan's full recovery.
Anabell has said that she will be fine with Gilliana while I'm gone.
Please check from time to time, to see if she needs anything.

Waking at first light Molly stood up and stretched, seeing Smom and Mini were still asleep and Rohnan was resting peacefully, she quietly left the nursery. She came across a chambermaid in the hallway.

Morning Bess, when you have finished the task you are doing, I want you to prepare two rooms in the guest wing for me, M'stress Smom has guests on their way, they may arrive in a few days.

Molly went into her room to bathe and dress for the day

Mini awoke to a rapping on her second story window. She looked out and saw a sketchy figure had climbed to her window using a ladder. She was quite startled by the man's appearence and by the oinking of the pigs below, for to her knowledge no pigs lived at Morgan Manor.

"Lemme in"
The man's voice was a cacophony of discord in her ears. He said no more, however, as he bit the sack with he teeth, to free his hand. Then the man proceeded to open the window.

Mini tried to prevent the man from opening the window, but alas! Her efforts weren't enough. As he climbed into her room, she shouted, "Help!"

Quickly the man took his sack back into his hand and said, "Noa don' be screamin. Or yew not be seein yer birdie agin."

"What?" Mini was confused.

"Oi 'ave yer birdie. If'n you wants it...yew kin pay me fer it. Else, oi be eten it fer supper."

"What the heck are you talking about?" Mini said angrily.

The man did not care for Mini's outburt. "Noa yew pay fer dat. Learn ter treat a man right when da man's got sumfin' fer yew. Noa yew kin pay double wat oi was askin' fer."

"If you have anything of mine, then I don't owe you a penny for it."

"Finders keepers. Not yers anymoa. Yew wants it, in oi wants 50 pounds. We kin deal. Yew kin 'ave yer birdie back fer 50 pounds and yew kin 'ave the pigs fer 150 moa. A flat 200 if'n yew likes."

Hearing Mini's voice, she burst into the room, assessed the situation and slammed the window closed on the mans hands, locking it and the shutters.

Stay still Mini!

Molly picked up a stool and crashed it down on the intruders head knocking him senseless to the floor.

Mini get me the tie from your robe now!!!!

Taking the tie, Molly tied the intruders hands behind his back, then stood ready stool in hand to use it again if required.

Mini quickly go down to the guards quarters by the kitchen and get those oafs here to take care of this ruffian

Hearing a scream semi wakes her up but she isn't sure if it was in her dream. When she hears a scuffle and Molly yelling something to Mini she bolts upright. Taking a second to look around the room she is in to make sure all is ok she goes over and picks up Rohnan from his crib.

To her horror he is burning up once more, the fever she thought she had under control before sleeping has returned but, worse as he does not seem to be sweating now. Knowing Molly must surely have the other situation under control as all seem quiet for the moment she decides the fastest way to cool down her son it to bathe him in the melted snow. It is cool but, not too cool as it has been in the room with the fire going all night. As she is wiping him down he opens his eyes and looks at her. Seeing his eyes, the eyes of his father looking up at her she can't help but smile. "Rohnan, Mommy is going to make you all better sweetie. Are you hungry?" to check she gets her finger wet with some clean water and puts it near his mouth, he lazily tries to suck on it. Not the best of signs but not the worst.

After cooling him down she put on a nappie and carries the now semi cool child to the chair where she proceeds to open her shirt to breast feed him. He needs some prodding with a finger to his cheek but he is showing a bit more interest this morning now that he is cool. "That's my boy, you eat your fill. Ouch." she suddenly feels pain "Hey you may not be well little man but no need to chomp down. Mommy is not a steak for you to chew on."she chuckles as he opens his eyes and looks at her before closing them to continue feeding. This one will be a challenge when older she notes.

As they sat there peacefully Smom starts to sing to him is hushed tones..
"Toora, loora, loora, Toora, loora, li, Toora, loora, loora.Hush, now, don't you cry
Ah,Toora, loora, loora, Toora, loora, li, Toora, loora, loora
It's an Irish lullaby"

Arriving back home from the Chapel, Richgrams sees some guards hurrying into the main part of the Manor, followed by Mini.
Driver, stay here for a while, in case the carriage is needed in a hurry.
She wonders what could possibly be wrong. Should she go inside or stay here? She decides that since Gilliana was put in her care, it's her duty to check on her well being.

As Richgrams goes to check on Gilly, Mini and the guards return to her room. The guards successfully apprehend the scruffy and smelly man, who had caused such a disturbance.

"Thank you," Mini says to the guards. Then turning to Molly Rose, "And Thank you very much for your quick thinking."

Looking at the sack the man had dropped, Mini notices a small movement. Openning the bag she finds Lela's owl. On its leg is a letter to her.

"Awww...poor thing. This is why I haven't gotten my letter from Lela. That guy kidnapped you..." Mini strokes the bird's feathers. Obviously disoriented, Mini notices the owl has a few feathers missing too. "You poor baby."

Turning to Molly "Do you know a good place we can put him until he's better? And do you have any food for owls?"

Mini looks worriedly at Snow. She feels her cheeks heat up with anger at the man for abusing this precious creature. She wanted to yell at him, but was afraid she'd frighten Snow. She pets Snow's head again. "It's going to be alright."

Yes if we take the owl to George the gardener, we can ask him to put Snow in the old bird loft and she can hunt rodents in there to eat

As Mini and the guards kept going down the hall towards Mini's room,
Richgrams enters her own room to check on Gilliana.
She finds Gilliana fast asleep and cool to the touch.
Anabell, why don't you stretch your legs awhile. I'll be fine here with Gilliana sleeping.
Have the cook fix you some breakfast, and while you're downstairs,
please see to it that someone tells the driver that the carrriage won't be needed after all.
Duty has won out over curiosity. Surely someone will bring her news of the commotion.

'Twas raining hard in the town of Penrith,when a sudden knock of the door is heard at Morgan Manor. Molly answers the door to find a man in rags, "Oda! What are you doing here?" says Molly.

"My life is going from bad to worse! I cant get a job in London, I have no friends there, and I am low on money. I dont mean to hinder the family, but is there any chance I could stay here in Penrith with the family? I dont know what else to do Molly!"

"Of course you can Oda! Come in and get dry! Your allways welcome here, as is any other Marius or family member!"

"Thank you Molly, I shouldn't have left in the first place! It was so stupid of me!"

A few hours went by as Oda talked with Molly about his time away, untill Oda dropped off to sleep where he sat. He looked so peacefull that Molly retired, leaving Oda fast asleep infront of the last of the burning embers on the fire.

And so begins the life of Oda Marius in Penrith.....

After she gets Rohnan to sleep for the night, Smom goes to start some water for tea in the hearth. She is happy that although ill Rohnan's fever seems to be able to be controled, if only the medicine the Doctor left did not smell so horrible, it was making Smom ill at it's pungent scent. She sighs as she has to use it.

Hearing a soft knock a the door she goes to answer it. Upon opening the door she sees a nervous Molly standing there. "Molly what is wrong? You never knock." suddenly worried "What is it? Tell me."

"Molly Rose he shall do no such thing" Smom say sternly. Upon seeing Molly's eyes widen she realizes she has just frightened Molly. She swore once after getting her away from her wretched last employer she would never do that.

Going over and putting a arm around Molly, her normally strong willed companion was now a timid and scared woman. "Your cousin may stay here at Morgan Manor Molly. It will be nice to have a man around. You are special to me Molly, please don't ever forget that." she hugs Molly "Now I would like to meet this cousin of yours but, not until morning. Please find him a room for the night. I think you had some made up? Use one of them and have another made for our future guests from the south." she smiles, if Molly only knew who it was, hehe. How much longer could she keep her secret? As she thinks back to her night in Southampton with him she smiles.

A feeling of relief came over Molly, she knew why she loved the Morgans like family, they were special people.

Molly raced out of the room down the stairs to the kitchen.

Oda! Oda!, I have great news Smom has said you can stay here, I will take you to a guest room, where you can bathe and put some clean clothes on. There should be something suitable in the wardrobe. The we can have dinner and then you rest. Smom wishes to meet you tommorrow, I want you looking your best. Now come with me

Oda hadnt been so relaxed in months, this moment in time was the time he forgot where he was and what he was doing there, but this didnt matter right now, he was refreshed and revitalised.

He got out of the bath tub changed into his clothes, so happy to be looking smart as he should, and smelling so fresh. Just then, his stomach made the funniest of noises, which reminded him of Tea.

Oda went straight down to the kitchen as Molly had asked earlier, woundering about the food that would be awaiting him. Life should be alot better for me here in Penrith, thought Oda as he reached the Kitchen.

After drinking her tea and thinking how happy for Molly she was, Smom went to check on Rohnan. Feeling he was close to normal in temperature she wiped his runny nose before covering him up for the night. "Sleep well my future Baron." she kisses his forehead before turning in for the night herself.

Molly beckoned over a servant sending her on her way to bring tea and cakes.she then left the parlor and went upstairs to Richgrams room, knocking as she entered.

Oda was bursting with energy after the very large meal, he hadn't tasted such proper food in five years he had been away form Penrith. He was still thinking to himself why he had left, why had he chosen to leave his loved ones behind?

"I must thank you for the wonderful meal Molly! I don't how I would of turned out should I have stayed in London. 'Tis no place for a man of no money. I have had quite an adventure, most of it being disappointing, especially finding out how hard life with no family and friends is."

Oda gave a big sigh of relief as he took in the warmth from the fire.

"Tomorrow, I shall find a job so I can repay your kindness my Dear Molly. My life here in Penrith will be so much better! I know not to take such things for granted now."

Seeing Oda eat with such gusto, made Molly wonder when the last time he had eaten a good meal.Then as she heard him talk, she realized things had not being easy for him. It seemed that Oda by the grace of Jah had not become a criminal.
But no matter he had found his way back to Penrith, he was family and she would help him any way she could.
Oda, all that is behind you now, I am so glad you came back to Penrith, I want you not to worry about a job just yet. In the morning you will meet one of the kindest people I know. Smom places high regard on family, she will make you welcome, so what you need to do is get a good nights sleep and then after breakfast I will take you to meet her. Now off you go to bed, there are some books in your room if you wish to read some. Good night Oda

Molly cleared away the dishes, humming a tune as she did. What a hectic few days it had been, so much happening, so much to do. But she mused Just a normal week at Morgan Manor

Waking from a restful sleep, that she really needed, she stretched and slipped her legs off the bed, dangling them for a moment as she yawned and awoke fully. Knowing her day had to start she rose out of the warm bed and looked towards the fire, it was dwindling but, she would not be in here long.

Washing herself near the basin a chambermaid had left for her to use, she proceeded to dress. When ready to do her daily chores she headed to the nursery nearby to see Rohnan. A nanny had been with him overnight so Smom could finally rest, her own health was starting to be an issue.

Looking down into Rohnan's crib, what she saw made a smile cross her face.

He precious son had his eyes open and his color was back. He was not completely well but well on his way to a full recovery. "Good Morning Little Man and how is my Rohnan today?" she picks him up and he smiles and almost giggles "Oh you are feeling much better now aren't you? Shall we see if you have your appetite back? Just no biting Mommy now, ok?"

She walks over to the window holding Rohnan to see what the day has in store and to really see his color in the light. Both looked to be pleasant today. Sitting down she proceeds to breast feed, not surprising Rohnan gets a death grip and feeds like he hasn't eaten in months. For once in the last few Days Smom is grateful her body is producing enough milk for two babies. Finally the pressure will subside and they both will be happy.

Upon his being full and burped, Smom asked one of the Nannies to watch him as she wanted to go downstairs as Tori was expected today. And she hoped to meet Molly's Cousin as well. Entering the Parlor she sees Molly has laid out a tray of tea and sits sipping it till she hears Tori being escorted in. Rising from her chair near the fire "Tori, do come in and join me. How was you trip to the Manor? Well I hope. I would love for you to come live with me. It is not proper for a young lady of your station in life, to live alone. But sit now and lets share some tea."

Smom I can be brief as you have guests, The intruder we detained s now in the hands of the law, seems he was sent to harass or worse Mini. By or for whom we do not know yet, but I am sure we will find out the truth. Maybe Mini has some answers.
Now this brings me to security, I am concerned that a person could get in the house undetected, we need to find someone to take charge of Household security. Its a sign of the times I am afraid, what with all those blagards and ruffians about people are no longer safe in their homes

MiniPhoenix wakes up early in the morning to check on Snow. Seeing the owl was doing much better and now sleeping during the day, she went back into the manor to have some breakfast. Upon entering, she saw Grandmum and Tori.

"Good morning Grandmum. Good morning Tori! How are you?" Mini asks as she sits down at the table.

Learning that Smom and Molly are discussing the stranger that broke into Mini's room, she excuses herself to speak with them in Smom's office. "Forgive me, but I believe Smom and Molly may want to see me. I won't be long."

Mini taps on the door to Smom's office and nudges it open a bit. Peeping in, Mini says, "I hope I am not intruding?"

I thought I heard them returning, but it was Mini that I heard.
Now all 3 of them have gone. Do you know what's going on?
There was a commotion early yesterday morning and some ruffian
was taken away from Mini's room by the guards. Seems we need
more security than we have.

Looking up as Mini taps on the door "Intruding? No, as a matter of fact you save me having to find you. What do you know of this intruder?" pausing for a moment she thinks she should say two things quickly "By the way Rohnan is doing much better and Molly's cousin, Oda, is here. I hear he has some military background from his time in London. Anyway I keep going off subject. Do you know if this man was sent to harm any one or just blackmail you?" taking a breath so she did not seem angry as she sometimes seemed when concerned of her family's safety "Mini please do come in and have a seat."

Turning her attention back to Molly "Do you think Oda is interested in a position here at the Manor? I do not want to presume he is staying if he has other plans." she relaxes in her chair as she looks at Molly for and answer then at Mini as she entered the room closing the door behind her.

Smom Oda has told me he wishes to stay in Penrith and make it his home, he was going to go out to seek work. I will speak to him in regards to this position, but I am confidant he will jump at the chance, I shall make the necessary arrangements and if you wish have him use the room he is now using

Upon hearing the new of the intruder, and Smom's job offer, Oda knew this was the perfect chance to repay all the kindness he had received so far. After all, he could hardly say no! He had the experience to handle troops and felt it was his duty to help Serve & Protect Kirkoswald Castle and Morgan Manor.

"Molly, it would be my honor! Especially after the intruder the other day. I feel it be my duty to protect my family and friends, especially after your kindness."

A great feeling of warmth came over Oda once more he felt he was truly being accepted agian.

Congratulations Oda, I told you that Smom was a good person, who sets high stocks on family.Now some details of your position. General Grundal commands all of Smoms troops, he will be stationed at Bracknell Manor in Reading with 376 men, you will command 276 men at Kirkoswald Castle and Tori will command 100 men here at Morgan Manor.
Later we will tour the castle and you will see your office and the guard room

Grundal, mounted on his Steed Old,bil trotted happily up to Morgan Manor. He had shared a wonderful meal of Cheesy corn pie with Lady Smom the previous evening. To tired to take the lady up on her offer of a room at Morgan Manor he took one at the inn instead letting Smom know he would indeed stop in at the manor on the marrow to talk further of events that had taken place.

Looking over the grounds on his approach he could tell by the lay out who had built the manor and knew where the stables was likely to be located Riding to them he dismounts handing the reins to a stable boy then makes his way to the front entrance.

Mini takes a seat and replies to Smom, "I'm afraid Auntie, I think he just wanted to blackmail me. My cousin Lela sent a letter to me via the owl. After capturing the owl, he must've read the letter and seen that it was for me. I don't know how he found I was living here. Anyway, it seems he wanted money in exchange for the owl and my letter. I hope Oda accepts the position to be head of security here."

Pausing, Mini asked, "Do you know what's become of this man since he was escorted away from Morgan Manor?"

Ahh! Tori, Smom has asked me to ask if you would be interested in commanding a detachment of 100 Crimson Guards here at Morgan Manor, with the rank of Sargeant at Arms.
Oda as Captain of the Guard commands 276 guards at Kirkoswald Castle and General Grundal 376 at Bracknell Manor in Reading. Grundal also is the overall commander of The Crimson Guard. So now lassie what do you say?

While waiting for an answer a knock comes to the door." My Lady a messenger has just delivered this letter"the servant hands her the letter and she opens it.

Molly went to the guest house to check on Wendy, finding her better but in distress, as she was now unable to feed the babies.

Now Wendy tis of no matter, Mistress Smom will be glad you have recovered. There is no need to worry the babies are fine, Master Rohnan caught the flu, but has made a full recovery. It would be a good idea that you go home to your family, please accept this as thanks from Smom

Molly handed Wendy a small bag containing 10 pounds.

As Oda prepares to set off to Kirkoswald Castle, he hears the trotting of a horse outside. As he goes over to the window, he looks down and sees Grundal on his horse moving towards the stables.

"Ah, 'twill be a nice surprise for Cousin Grundal if I answer the door, I haven't seen him in so long!" he said to himself.

Oda makes his way down to the front door, as he opens the door, he is greeted with Grundals outstretched hand, who was just about to knock.

"Cousin Grundal! So nice to see you again! It has been so long!"

Seeing the shock on his face, Oda hugs Grundal.

"'Tis nice to be with my family again, Smom has very kindly given me a room here whilst I get settled in. I heard your approach from my room and thought I'd surprise you! Please come in! I'm sure will Smom will be happy to see you!"

Richgrams has been very happy as of late. There is so much activity here at the Manor and such interesting conversations at mealtimes.
She also spends much time playing with the little ones, so happy that Rohnan has fully recovered.
A slight wave of sadness comes over her when she thinks that before too long, most everyone, including the babes,
will be moving into the Castle, leaving her behind. She tells herself not to think of that.
Maybe Tori would like to walk the gardens with me, she thinks. At least Tori and April will be staying here.
Oh how I wish that I could find a friend and companion for me, as Smom has Molly Rose.

I run till I get close to the Manor. Then my steps slow. I am afraid of what I might find. It reminds me of the house I left so many years ago. I am afraid of the mistress. Would she be cruel? Does my sister work here? These thoughts are going through my mind as my feet begin to feel heavier to move. Scott said to find the Steward. Trying to make myself as small as possible I sneak through the gardens looking for the back door. I'm hoping and praying that the mistress is inside and does not find me lurking within her gardens.

Now that Snow is rested, MiniPhoenix gives him a letter to return to Lela and sets him off. She watches Snow fly for a bit. As he gets farther away and harder to see, MiniPhoenix turns. Walking through the garden she sees Rosanna. Shouting, "Hey, there, Rosanna! How are you?" Mini smiles to the sweet lady she had met at Cap'n Morgan's. "Can I get you anything, Dear?"

Tori has agreed to accompany Richgrams on her walk in the gardens.
Richgrams names the various plants and tells Tori what flowers will blossom from them in the spring.,
but she has the feeling that Tori would rather be elsewhere, maybe swinging her staff at imagined intruders.
She tells Tori that she will be fine continuing her walk alone.
Ah, the eagerness of Tori's youth is refreshing, but I wish I had someone to share time with.
Bending down to touch a leaf, Richgrams thinks she hears a rustle behind her - a small animal perhaps.
She turns towards the sound and sees a foot behind a bush. It's wearing a slipper rather than a boot, so instills no fear in Richgrams.
Please come out my friend, I'll not hurt you.

I startle when I hear my name called and hide behind a bush. Oh but tis Mini I have no fear of her. I could ask her. Maybe she could help find my sister. Just as I am about to show myself to her I hear another voice. I shake with fear when I realise this is the voice of a true Lady. I want to flee but my legs are heavy below me and will not move.
I realise I must show myself. The lady says she will not hurt me. I stand before her and with much trepidation I raise my eyes to gaze upon her face.
The face is a gentle one and the eyes shine with kindness. I fall to a deep curtsey. "Please forgive me My Lady'" I stammer then much to my shame the tears fall from my eyes and run down my cheeks

She would have a chat with Smom, maybe Rosanna would be a good companion for Richgrams, just as she was for Smom.

Why yes my Lady. The house where I once worked had beautiful gardens. When I was hiding from the Mistress I used to work with the gardener. He taught me many things. I also love to read. The Master taught me and I used to read to him in the evenings.
Once she had started Rosanna could not stop talking. The day had been such a big one.
My Lady please forgive me I fear my tongue runs away on me. I am not sure how I should address you. You are being so kind to me. I have never known such kindness from one such as yourself

Molly leaves Richgrams and Rosanna, finding a servant she instructs te room adjoining Richgrams room be prepared. Going into the parlor, she goes to Smom.

Smom, I have the most amazing news. My sister Rosanna is here, quite unexpectedly I might add. She and Richgrams seem to be getting on well. I am wondering if Rosanna would be a good companion for her?

Molly has returned for Rosanna. She will take her to her new room and I'm sure they will chat about each others lives thus far.

Molly shows Rosanna to a room. She cannot believe that she is to sleep there. They talk and talk. There are so many years to catch up on. After a while Molly excuses herself and leaves Rosanna in the room by herself. Rosanna is not sure what to do and wanders to the window to look out. There approaching the Manor she spies her new friend Scott.
She wants to run down to see him she has so many questions but decides she must stay in her room until summoned. Looking at her poor clothing she realises that she has nothing suitable to wear. The fear and shame of her condition overwhelmes her once more. Not wanting to crease or soil the bed she curls up on the floor and tries to fall asleep.

You can always speak to Rosanna alone, or at the tavern.
Richgrams leaves Scott to look for April. Finding her, she asks April if she has a simple frock that she would loan to Rosanna to wear tonight.
April says she'd be happy to and will bring it up to her now.

Rosanna feels like a princess in her borrowed gown. She paces the room waiting for someone to come and get her. Finally it was too much. She knew her friend Scott was there somewhere. She quietly left the room and went out into the garden. She saw Scott walking away.
Scott. Wait
She runs up to him and throws her arms around him.
Thank you for sending me here. I have found my sister. You don't know how much that means to me. For so long I have had no family.

I stand speechless....... She is almost unrecognizable....... She looks like a young Princess...... I return the hug breifly, not wanting to be improper and step back as she thanks me for sending her here...... I bit my toungue as I know Grams wants to tell the suprise....

Nay, ye no need to thank me..... Iz glads Iz could 'elp...... Ye looks stunning Iz mustz say..... I try a smile...... Iz 'appy you 'ave found family....

The glow in her cheeks and the happy little tears in her eyes makes me feel glad that I sent her...... Just bein' 'ere a little bit, and ya already looks like Royalty........ I can't stop myself from giving her another hug.......

Rosanna enjoys being hugged. It has been long since anyone has shown they cared about her. For some reason she feels a special bond with this kind man.
Oh Scott I have never before worn clothes such as these. I do not understand why they are being so kind to me. I am to sleep here at the Manor. In a bedroom.
Realising she has been improper to hug a man she steps back and looks around to see if anyone else had seen.

as snow has found his way back to the palce that mini resides for now. snow has left lela to find and deliver his message to mini. he swoops in to find the person who cared for him when he was injured looking for a snack and a friendly face as the trip was long and the weather is starting to break. so with this snow has brought the message that lela was so happy to write.

dearest cousin

it is with great excitement that i await your arrvial, you will have a room in the west wing of the house just down from mine as peg i think if gam moves in will be in the east wing so they can have privacy. i am going to have the staff clean and primp your room and ask glad to bring your clothing and any material goods here to be given when you arrive. it has been far to long since we as kids had pillow fights in the old house, and the fun times of playing with our dolls and stuffed animals. Very Happy
to say that you have been greatly missed and the joy of hearing that you will soon return fills my heart with gladness. ido hope we can ride the country side and show you the wonderful house that you will stay infor as long as you desire. but cousin i must ask one thing that intreages me, will you be teaching at te school? oh i trully hope so as i plan to take classes from you.
your absence has been difficult for me so i welcome you home with open arms and a warm heart andi look forward to our pillow fights again.

I hold back from the rest and let them go on in..... I don't know why, I can do fine among the customers at the tavern, but around here, I am lost..... I can't quite figure it out......

Rosannas heart sinks as she spies Scott moving away from the rest. How she wished she could go with him. She really doesn't know this sister of hers. She seems so much like a lady. Scott is more like the men she knew that worked at the big house. She wonders if she made the right decision in coming here.
Suddenly she is afraid again. She knows nothing of how a lady should behave. Maybe they could give her a job in the gardens or looking after the babies. Surely there would be some menial tasks that she could do.
She wonders if they have any plans in mind.

Molly could feel the trepidation in Rosanna, she was over awed by the surroundings and the people, she knew how she felt after all not so long ago she was in the very same position, but with no other family there with her.

Rosanna sweetheart, I know this is overwhelming, but do not worry, the Morgan Family are good people, they will treat you with dignity and respect. Look at me, all I did was work hard now I am treated like a member of the family. Now I have a question for you.
How would you like to be the Companion for Richgrams?
She has taken a liking to you and that is a compliment, besides you will be able to help with the children and get to see and learn alot. Especially in the ways of a lady. Now what do you say?

Nay Molly Nay. For sure it would be lovely to work at the manor and to be close to you. But surely Mi Lady would be wanting to choose her own companion. She would not want one such as I. I have no idea how to do such work. Mi Lady asked me if I like to garden. Surely she is thinking that I may be of some use there.
How Rosanna wished she could just go back to the cottage with Scott. She was starting to feel very weary. So much has happened this day.

As grundal reaches to knock on the door it swings open leaving his hand hanging in the air. before him stood a man with a familiar face one he had not seen in some time. memory's flooded to him of time past when family get togethers was common. He recalled when he was still a teen one such get together. His family had traveled to Penrith for a reunion of sorts with family from his mothers side. The man standing before him had been at that reunion it was his cousin Oda. With wide eyed surprise at seeing a member of his family he had known in his youth Grundal returns the hug offered by him. Hearing the news that his cousin would be staying at the manor Grundal says .

Aye tis good indeed to see family once more ... we have much to catch up on and I look forward to doing so soon
I need to speak with Lady Smom on a matter of import. .

One of the servants of the manor steps over to the two men saying.

Excuse me sir Ill be happy to inform the baroness of your arrival she has been expecting you for some time now, if you would please follow me the library she will be with you as soon as it is possible.

Well Oda Grate to see you again ill look for you after The baroness and I have talked

With that grundal followed the servant to the library and waited for his long time friend

I sit and just enjoy the breaze coming off the lake...... Aye..... SM was good at puttin' a bench 'ere.....

Seeing Smom enter the room , the radiant glow of recent mother hood still upon her grundal stands and bows then takes her hand as she takes her seat.Smiling as she speaks of how Gil had tried to replicate Bracknell Manor he sees a dark shadow cross her face with her report of attempting to locate their mutual friend. grundal reaches over retaking the Baronesses hand saying .

I know milady I fear the worst and fear more what may be yet to come .

With this he pulls from his side pouch a piece of leather lace attached to it a small onyx figurine of a falcon in flight and rubs it strongly between his forefinger and thumb

Molly left the dinning room and went to the Library.

Richgrams notices that Scott has left, and she understands that he means no offense by it.
She motions to Molly, who then motions to the help. Supper is now being served.
After the initial round of eating, Richgrams stands up.
Word spreads, and they all stop eating to hear what she has to say.
Dear family and friends, I have called this feast to introduce you to
Rosanna Rose, newly discovered sister of Molly Rose, and newest member
of the Marius family. May we all share in the joy of having her here.

Richgrams turns to Rosanna, who is seated beside her.
I understand that you may be quite overwhelmed by all
that has been happening to you, so you can take time before answering.
My hand maiden, April, wishes to return to her family up north.
She sees to it that my clothes are clean and ready, brings the hot water for my bath,
brings me food and drink, and does other sundry things.
I am hoping that you will learn from her, while she's still here, and
take her place when she leaves. She is staying in the help's quarters,
but because of Molly's standing in the Manor, I'm offering you the room adjoining mine.
In time, I'm hoping we can become friends, as Smom and Molly are.
I miss having a companion and confidant, and wonder if I have found that in you.

"Dinner is about to be served, ma'am." John announced.

"Oh, thank you, John." Mini put her pen down and stood up.

"I would have forgotten if you hadn't reminded me."

Mini patted John's head as she left her room.

Upon entering the dining room, Mini apologized to her family and guests.

"I'm very sorry I'm late. I have one more exam to take in Government Institutions, and I imagine it'll be hard. I've been studying for a while, and time just passed on by with out me noticing."

Memory's of that day months before flooded in to grundals mind. One moment It was a simple day sharing a few ales in a tavern called the connection in his town of Reading . Then Lady Tasite rushed in and told him of his friend Lord Austral. "He is bleeding" she had said! The look on her face was of fear and the twins in her arms was all Grundal needed to know that this was indeed a grave event. memory's flowed faster then time seemed possible to allow. A ride to Bracknell then a run to the chapel, lady Irish then his dear friend gil came flying threw his mind. next a mad trek threw the woods with feelings of fear and loss all mingled together . Then time slowed at the moment before he acquired the figurine he now held in his hand. The memory of a blood soaked cloak hanging loosely over a Pike and a bruit of a man that had nothing but hatred for all that was good burning deeply in his eyes ....

Excuse me Smom, Grundal its so good to see you!, but everyone has gathered in the dinning room and dinner is ready to be served

Molly's words drew Grundal back to the present. Closing his eyes for only a moment to regain him self he tucked the figurine in to his palm and looked up at molly with a smile saying

good to see you to , food is ready you say? well then shouldn't keep the family waiting should we ? you know dear Molly ive been called many things in my life but never have I been called late for dinner

With this Grundal stands and follows the two lady's out of the library and to the main dining hall. Bowing To lady Richgrams as he enters the room he holds a chair for Smom then takes a seat next to cousin Oda. The meal of course was most splendid As all Morgan dinners grundal had attended has been. Then Lady Richgrams stood and waited with elegant demeanor as silence flowed over the room. Hearing her announcement that Molly's sister Rosanna Rose had been discovered. Grundal took his turn welcoming her to the family saying

Aye Rosanna a kinder family you shall not find then the Morgans they will do all they can to help you with what ever you need and all they ask in return is loyalty and friendship a grand bargain in my book for all they offer to those they call friend after the second course had been served and consumed grundal stood saying

please excuse me for a few moments good friends and family I have forgotten to take care of my horse old'bil he is vary spoiled and If I do not give him his daily apple he may throw me the next time we ride

Smiling as he walks out of the dinning hall he makes his way to a side patio where he clinches his hand from around the figurine releasing a small bit of blood that had been drawn as one wing had dug deeply into his palm

After they had eaten and her Mother and others had spoken Smom taps her glass lightly to gain attention.

"Rosanna we have not had the chance to meet as yet. First I am very pleased you have found your family and welcome to my home." clearing her throat she stands "Now that you are all here I have a few things you should all be aware of."
Looking around to make sure all eyes were on her she continued "Oda and Rosanna you may be confused by my home. Yes, Mother, Mini and myself are Noble family members but, I run my home my way. In public we must all keep to our stations as it is how things are done however, as Molly can attest to in my home we are all a family. All with rights and feelings, no one under my employ will ever be treated badly. When I bring you into my home you are family with all the good and bad that comes with being such. I expect you to pull your own weight and help where you can but, don't be surprised if you see me with dirt on my hands or a cleaning rag. It takes more than one person to be a family and more than a name to make you a true member of such a family." she pauses to take a drink "The Morgans and the Marius family are connected not by blood but by sweat. We all have our places in the family but that does not mean you should ever feel less that a equal in the family."

"Now I have news to share for those who are not aware. Xander Marius whom I had the pleasure of meeting in Southampton is moving here." looking at Molly "The one the letters are from my friend" addressing all once more "He is the head of the Marius family and I did not want you all to worry when he does. Xander has agreed to assist me in the renovation of Kirkoswald Castle. I shall be moving there when it is finished. I hope that Oda joins me there as it is the headquarters of the Crimson Dragons Homeguard. Morgan Manor shall then be turned over to my Mother where I hope she continues to run a happy family friendly home." as she looks to each of their faces to see they heard her "Kirkoswald will always have a warm bed and meal for any of you. We are not splitting up but expanding as a family and I can think of no better people to do it with." picking up her wine glass she raises it "To Family"

Rosanna listened intently to all that was being said. Things were starting to become clearer in her mind. She began to see her place in this family that was becoming larger by the hour. She looked from one face to the next. She could see the pain in Grundals face though he was bravely trying to hide it beneath his smile and wondered what had caused it.

She realised that becoming part of this family wasn't going to be easy but a challenge that she was ready and willing to take on. For the first time in her life she had been accepted and felt not only a bond but a strong feeling of loyalty grow within her. She would do anything to help these people.

She looked over at Richgrams and could see the pride on her face and knew that she would do whatever possible to make life easier for this lady who had been so kind to her. She wondered why Scott did not come to the dinner and decided she must seek him out when she could and talk to him.

Hearing Smoms words, Molly looked around the table seeing family and friends, a sense of pride fulshed over her. She stood
Forgive me please but I too have something I wish to say to you all, My friends and My family. Smom I wish you to know that the Marius Family will support you in whatever path you may choose.We are a small but proud family, not noble nor wealthy, but we are rich in other things. Up until a few weeks ago we were scattered to the four winds, but Jah is bringing us together, we offer the Morgan family our support, our loyalty and our love. Yes the relationship between our familys is unique built on hard work and trust.
Smom I will not be moving to Kirkoswald with you, my place is here at Morgan Manor, I have nominated to be Mayor of Penrith, so I must stay in the town, we face hard times ahead, but our two familys will survive and grow strong, we will work together to ensure this and in doing so help others along the way.
I hope you all will support me in the task at hand, it will not be easy nor should it be, but we are Morgans and Marius's, we don't shirk the challenge nor do we quit!

Molly raised her glass and doffed to each person at the tableto Family!

Molly sat down, as she ponderd the reaction of everyone

Rosanna looked around to see the reactions on the faces of her new found family and friends but in her heart she was delighted at the news that she was not to be parted from Molly. She was in awe of the responsibility that Molly was to take on and once again was filled with admiration and pride in her sister.

Will I ever be able to live up to her? she thought.

As everyone was leaving the dining hall, Richgrams seeked out Molly.
Having found her, she said Molly, please find a nightgown and robe for Rosanna to use tonight.
Then, handing her a small purse of coins, she added. Please use this to buy some suitable clothes for Rosanna.
You should take her with you, as she seems to be one who likes to have her say in things.
Thank you.
May I add that I am very happy that you will be staying here at Morgan Manor. We would be so lost without you.

Thank you Richgrams, for your support and for giving Rosanna an chance. Yes she has a free spirit, but so do I, with your help we can temper this, to be a fine woman and an important part of the family. I will take her to Penrith in the morrow to buy clothing suitable for her position.
Now Richgrams if I may seek your council if I am successful in my quest to become Mayor.

After Molly left Rosanna she sat very thoughtfully in her room. She was pleased to be going to get some new clothes but was beginning to realise what a huge change there would be in her life.

From now on she would be expected to dress and behave as a lady . This was not going to be easy as she loved to run barefoot outside. For so many years she had behaved exactly how she chose. It didn't matter. Now she was part of a dignified family. Her sister was running for Mayor. She must behave with decorum. The responsibilities began to weigh heavily upon her.

She decided that at first light she would go and seek out Scott. Here was someone she could relax with. Who would expect no airs and graces. She would be able to walk in the woods near his home. At these thoughts her heart began to lift. She could do this to be near Molly and to be a part of a family as long as she had a place to escape to.

Just as the Dining room empties, Oda notices Smom is still here and goes over to her.

"I'm sorry I didn't say anything straight away when you asked me to move to the Castle when its done, I was shocked and lost for words. May I just say it would be my pleasure to reside at Kirkoswald Castle. Your family has done so much for me in the short time I have been back here. I will do the best my abilities will allow me, to ensure you and your family are safe at both the Castle and the Manor. If you need any help with the renovation at the Castle, I want you to know you need only ask me and I will be there."

As Oda finishes speaking to Smom, he has a small but painful flashback.

"I'm sorry Smom, please excuse me, I should get some rest I feel a headache coming on"

Oda left the dining room and headed towards his room.

After all had left her, Smom knowing the wet nurse has taken care of the twins, goes to her Library and curls up in a chair near the fire, picking up a book. Opening it she looks at it but does not read., gazing instead with a blank stare she absorbs all she has seen and heard in the last few days. Molly has been such a blessing in her life in the days since Kieran's death but, it was time to let Molly bloom and be all she could be. When Molly was first taken on as a retainer she promised her to help her be all she could be regardless of station, she did.
Things would never be the same again. Taking a deep breath she finally started to read a book on architecture. She wanted some knowledge when Xander spoke to her.

After ensuring everything was in order, Molly stood for a fewmoments in the dining room reflecting on recent events.
The heading off to bed she saw the light from the library, so she went inside seein Smom reading a book.

Good evening Smom Molly sa wthe look on her face and knew that Smom was a little sad.

Smom, I want to thank you for everything you have done for me, you took me in, encouraged me, but importantly you trated me like a friend and family member, not as an employee. In away it is you that has inspired me to seek out knowledge, challengesn and instill in me the wish to serve our community, you have been my inspiration. But now my friend its time for some else to stand up and share the burden. You deserve some time to yourself to have some fun and raise your children. I am sure it is what Kieron would have wanted.
I will never leave you, I will always be here for you and Richgrams, but you know that if I am to be Mayor, my place is in Penrith.I will still oversee your household for you, you have not got rid of me just yet.
My dear friend I pray to jah that you find someone to be at yourside and share your life, Jah knows you have had more sorrow than is fair for one person to bear.
Beside now it will be me seeking your wisdom and experiance as I embark on this new journey, I hope this is the first small step for the Marius family to step forward and take its place in the community alongside our good friends the Morgans

Blood flowed freely from the now unobstructed wound in Grundals hand. Cursing him self he pulls his dagger out and cuts a small strip from his tartan and tucks it back in to his waist band. Wrapping the wound tightly with the scrap from his kilt he ties it off and heads towards the stables with rage in his eyes as memory's of the past flood and over take his mind.

He did not recall patting old'bil on his snout Nor paying the stable boy to go to town and pick up 25 bales of hay to replace the ones he had set out back of the stables. Now Grundal stood with torso exposed and tartan wrapped around his waist. Surrounding him stood 5 stacks of hay bales 4 at each base with one standing on edge atop each stack. slowly grundal begins to work him self threw a training routine he had used since he could hold a sword upright. Goraf Mcginnis father of Bearlorf and grundal Mcginnis had left the training of his sons in the capable hands of the town black smith Ieon McKenny a Long time Mcginnis family friend.

Grundal, no longer caring who saw the horrible burn scars along his back and sides worked carefully. At first striking at each top bale and pulling it before the blow could land . In his minds eye this was a blocking move made to stop incoming strikes from the replicated attackers he now faced. stepping into the rhythm of the routine he began a series of attacks and counter attacks swinging his sword left then right then thrusting strait forward . adding over head smash and long wide swings in to his work he stepped with cat like grace around the bales.

As he increased the speed and energy he placed into his actions the bales took on knew appearance to grundal. Now Black cloaked figures was before him and he made his attacks with grater vigor names come threw his mind , names of those departed to early from this world. Kieran_Casey killed for unknown reasons by unknown assassins,Ryunyght,
Austral Scott, both good men and both killed at the battle of Bracknell
Then the night his village in Scotland had been raised to the ground.His father Goraf, brother Bearlorf as well as Ieon McKenny had fallen in short order that night most terrible as dark cloaked figures rode thru out the village burning every structure insight. Worse of all this night he watched helpless as his wife Elspith, doughtier Alesta and baby son Kendrew burned to death in the family home his father and brother had helped him to build.

So many friends and family now gone so many questions still needing answered. With each name passing threw his mind he slashed at the ghostly image his imagination had projected on to the hay bales felling it in effigy to honor those who had passed. Tears begin streaming down grundals face as primal roars escaped his lips echoing to all that could hear the turmoil that beat strong beneath his breast...

Old'bil looked on as his human did strange things once more. The Grey stallion had no way to understand what it was this human was doing . He could tell however something was not as it should be with the only human Old,bil ever considered to be part of his heard. Then he saw dark shadows moving in the woods. One by one men clad in black hooded cloaks came out of the woods wielding long shiny things the steed new well enough would cause harm to the funny dressed human. He must help the one who had set him free from his life locked a way in a stall, must some how warn him of the danger he saw. With this the stallion began to neigh and kick at the doors to his stall trying to brake free of the oak doors that where designed to keep him in no mater his attempts

Grabbing his sword by the blunted blade near the cross piece with his left hand. Swinging outward to his left pushing forward on the pommel with his right Grundal connected with the last standing bale sending its 50 pounds soaring end over end off into pieces

lost in his rage he did not hear the footsteps approach from behind him

Some time ago Elmix met Lady Smom, who asked him to come to Morgan Mannor, so Elmix was on the way to visit today.

As Elmix comes closer, he admires the outside of mannor, this was his first time here.

He approaches the door and knocks.

As Oda sat resting in the chair, he thought about how kind this family had been to him. It had been just over five years since he was last in Penrith, and already it seems like he never left. The only thing holding him back was the memory's of the Army he still had, the haunting flashbacks that were becoming more frequent.

The night was silent, Oda drifted off in the peacefulness of the Manor.

It was raining hard, Oda was moving through the woods with three soldiers to his left, and three to his right. Weapons were drawn. Snaps and cracks could be heard all around them, making their heads turn looking for the source, it wasn't easy with the noise of the rain pounding off leaves and trees.

"He has to be here somewhere! This man must be caught! Dead or Alive." Oda shouted to the men.

The snaps and cracks seemed to be getting louder, Oda tried to listen for a pattern, trying to hear for footsteps. It was no good, to much interference. He could hear voices now from the other searching groups. Suddenly there was a loud Bang....

Oda woke immediately. He could still hear the banging, it was real. He jumped up and went to the window. He could see Grundal doing a training routine, but that was not the source of the noise. Then he heard a neigh, more banging, it was Old'Bill! Oda knew there was something wrong, but why hasn't Grundal noticed?

Still fully dressed from the dinner earlier, Oda picked his sword up off the table and placed it in its scabbard. He exited the room and made his way silently to the back door of the Manor. Still unseen, he opened the back door and slide outside, closing it behind him. Moving down the side of the Manor, towards the stables, the banging got louder. Oda reached the corner of the Manor and crouched down behind a bush, sword drawn, with a full view of the stables and Grundal.

Looking round, he could see no sign of a disturbance, or any intruders, other than Old'Bill kicking wildly and neighing. Grundal was still in his practice routine, and Oda watched as the last bale was strewn all over in pieces.

A large man draped in black cloak and hood, armed with Axe and dagger, stepped out of the forest. Flanked on each side by two others armed with short swords. With stealth they approached the man they had watched for several days, Cursing the noise the horse in the stables was making. No normal person on the out side would be aware of the information being passed between these men the movements of the large man was so subtle only one vary experienced with the silent language of thieves could possibly notice...

All energy spent Grundal leaned upon his sword letting the point dig into the ground. Drained of emotion from the rage he had wrought upon the bales of hay, grundal sunk to his knees closed his eyes to lower his breathing and regain total control of himself. A twig crackled behind him and a unfamiliar voice spoke...

In Oxford they say a man asked for me, then Worcester, Warwick and Birmingham, word reached my ears of man upon gray horse making inquiries of me. Seems that every berg,town and capital between reading and Kirkcuddbright you have sought me out. Well grundal Mcginnis, Slayer of my brother Angus at Bracknell, taker of things not yours. Cutter has found you. Oh how I think you shall regret ever leaving that pathetic out post. Cutter is not with out mercy however, give back that which you took from Angus. Return to his brother that which he earned by right and deed. Crawl back to your backwater existence. Play at being mayor again if you wish but stay out of penrith stay out of the north of england. Do this not and forfeit your life and all you have cared for...

Eyes still closed Grundal inhales deeply then releases the breath as he stands slowly and turns to face the voice that spoke. keeping an even tone he says,

I will give you what you seek should you answer my questions as to its purpose and meaning. Answer not and die I may but I assure you it shall be you first thru the gates of hades where we may continue this discussion until end of time. The choice as to location is yours Mr. Cutter

With this he pulls his bastard sword back in front of him letting its tip dangle fractions of an inch above the ground..

Watching silently as Grundal leaned on his sword, Oda could see no sign of anyone else. Old'Bill was still kicking, yet Grundal still seemed unaware as he fell to his knees.

Oda almost stepped out, but curiosity stalled him, something was not right. Old'Bill neighed again, it was then Oda saw the outline of a man approaching Grundal from behind, followed closely by four people what looked like soldiers, two on his left and two on his right.

The man at the front was directly behind Grundal, surely he had heard the twigs snap? The man stood behind Grundal for a shirt while, Oda was unsure what was happening here, although it looked like the man was talking.

Grundal stood up and turned to face this man. Should Oda step out now an reveal his presence? Then Grundal began to speak, Oda still behind the bush, watched as Grundal pulled his sword to his front. Oda prepared himself for the next move, sword at the ready.....

After Molly left her in the Library, Smom took a deep breath and got up, she had to go pack for her trip. The ship would be sailing soon and she could not be late. It would be worth it just to be with her daughter Illynya for the duration of the trip abroad. Not every day one is invited to the Coronation of a Queen.

After going upstairs she knocks on Mini's door hoping her niece was packed and she was the only one falling behind. Cat and Degas would be here shortly to pick them up in their carriage to go to the docks. She doesn't know why she is nervous the staff would have laid out her clothing to be packed by now and would be waiting her final say in what to pack. Knocking once more she hopes Mini is not asleep.
