Arriving at the castle in her carriage, Smom is in the company of Molly, her Steward of Household and on horseback riding next to them, Oda Marius, the new Captain of the Dragon Homeguard for Kirkoswald Castle. The Order of the Dragons were a old Guard of her family, the Morgan.

"Look Molly is it not wonderful? I only wish it was in better shape but, that shall be fixed shortly. For now security is today's task. Thank you for getting Oda to agree to stay on. Maybe if we are lucky later General Grundal will stop by." she smiles at Molly.

The carriage coming to a stop in front of the guard house as instructed Smom exits the carriage and turns to see Oda on his mount. "Oda the troops should be near as they were warned we were coming." no sooner did she speak when a flurry of red was seen moving about. The 276 men assigned to Kirkoswald Castle formed in semi lines and groups. 'oh boy' was all Smom could think knowing these men needed a good leader to shape them into the troops she needed. Looking at Oda once more "Looks like you will be busy Oda."

Alighting from the carriage, Molly looked around with awe, she could see the grandure of the Castle, yes it needed some work but in no time it would be resplendant in its glory.

Smom, its wonderful, so big. We must all work hard to make this a magnificent home

Turning to Oda, she brushed the dust off his new tunic. It looked good on him.
Oda I am so proud of you, now go do your duty

As Oda dismounted, he had a good long breath of fresh country air, taking in the magnificent view of the Castle and grounds.

"This is perfect for you Smom, a beautiful home for a beautiful woman. I will have the Guards stationed within the grounds so all entrances can be seen. I'm sure you will have treasured items here whilst the renovation is under way."

Oda turns to Molly and smiles.

"Dont worry, I wont let you down, I have said it before but you have done too much for me. I shall be back shortly, I must introduce myself to the Guards and give them their duties for now."

After kissing Molly on the cheeck, Oda headed towards the Guards.

Watching with pride as Oda strode with purpose towards the assembled soldiers, Molly turned to Smom. Face beaming with pride.


Look at him Smom, he looks so grand in his uniform, he will do you proud. The Order of the Dragon will be admired by all as the finest body of men in England

Molly went to the carriage and got a bag, returning to Smom.

Its such a lovely day Smom, we should walk the grounds, I brought some bread so we can feed the swans, perhaps then we go up the hill by the Windmill and take in the view of the castle grounds. I had a lunch packed we can sit there and have a picnic and discuss the castle redevelopment

Molly signaled a boy to take the hamper up the hill for them

As Oda approached the Guards, he knew he had made the right choice. The Castle looked amazing as it was, imagine what it will be like fully renovated! The Guards stood to attention as he neared them.

"I am Oda Marius, Captain for the Order of the Dragon, I am to be your Commanding Officer here at Kirkoswald Castle. Our main priority here is protect the Castle and any items stowed in it whilst its being renovated. Once the Castle has been fixed up, it will be our duty to protect and serve the Morgan Family. In the meantime, I wish for all the entrances to the Castle and Castle Grounds to have four men sectioned at each, rotating every six hours, apart from the Main Gate where there is to be six Guards. Anybody found on the Grounds who is not here on business, should have the permission or a valid reason to be here. Should they not have a valid reason or they are up to no good, they should be apprehended and taken to the Guard House, where I am to be told immediately."

Oda shuddered as he remembered something from his past.

"I will go to my office now and decide on the rota. In the meantime I would like you patrol the Grounds, and get to know the area. You will be informed when I have finished the rota."

Grundal had been surveying the grounds of Kirkoswald castle since dawn. This was indeed a home befitting his friend Baroness shriekersmom. This was so much more then Bracknell manor the grandeur of Kirkoswald would be a show piece known threw out all of england he had no doubt. Today how ever fluff and show was not his concern at the moment. He remembered all to well how enemy's unknown had destroyed the first Manor his Friend had owned. Enemy's he now sought for his own reasons. Still they could possess a threat to the Baroness and all she held dear and grundal would have none of that,not while breath still filed his lungs.

mid day approached he had made three circuits of the castle taking notes on possible weaknesses in the defenses when he sees a carriage approach from his place on a hill over looking all of Kirkoswald. Smiling as he sees the men of the Crimson Dragons scurry around to make them selves presentable,Grundal sees that yes a bit disorganized they are but at least they make the attempt to be a force of respect.

Then a man that had been traveling with the baroness steps up to address these men. Grundal was to far away to hear the order he must have given but was impressed by the reaction that was taken.He could see molly and Smom make their way around the grounds and as they stopped to feed the swans. He could see they was coming to the vary hill he was standing on,thinking to surprise his friend he ducks a bit deeper into the woods and waits for them. Tethering old'bil to a tree,he quietly watches the pair as molly spreads a blanket and prepares what must be a picnic lunch for the two of them. Softly grundal steps out into the clearing atop the hill,before he can say a word he feels the a sharp pressure at his back and hears a mans gruff voice say.

If nae you want me spears point to suddenly introduce its self to your spleen Ye best have good reason for sneaking up on the baroness

As she suddenly hears a voice speaking Smom turns and sees one of her men with a spear pressing against Grundal's back "STOP" she yells "Do you know who you have at spear point?" she walks towards and glares at the young soldier. "Don't get me wrong I am glad you are doing your job and I am prepared to give you a bonus for what you have done. Had this man have meant me harm you would have saved my life." she puts her hand on the spear and lowers it, careful not to cut herself "Now may I introduce General Grundal. The man who oversees all of my troops in England. It is safe to let him go and return where you came from just now."

As she is now standing next to the two men, she hugs Grundal politely "Well my friend seems the troops need to get to know you as well. What pray tell brings you out to Kirkoswald the fine day?" take a deep breath as she looks at her dear friend and then watches the soldier scurry off "You are here to check on my safety and the troops aren't you? You have always been there for me. What would I do without you?" looking back at Molly "So my friend care to join your cousin and I for a bite to eat and a drink?"not taking a no for an answer she takes his arm and leads him to a patch of land where no snow is and a blanket is laid out to eat.

As Oda finishes writing up the rota, he hears a knock on his door.

"Enter."

A Guard walks in with a worried look on his face.

"Captain, I fear I have done something terrible! I was patrolling the grounds as you said, and I saw a man hiding in the bushes near the Baroness. I made my way up to see what he was up to, as I got there he stepped out towards the Baroness, so as you commanded I put my spear to his back and asked his business."

"And? What did the man say? What have you done? Tell me!" Oda said

"As I asked his business, the Baroness turned round, and it was then I realized my spear was in General Grundals back!"

"Be calm, you were doing your duties as I asked you. I will speak with the Baroness and General Grundal, and inform them you were carrying out my orders. I'm sure nothing will come of this, if anything the Baroness will be greatfull, you were looking out for her as you should. I have done the rota for the shifts. Will you please make sure all Guards read this, any problems they should let me know. Do you know where General Grundal and the Baroness are now?"

"Yes Captain, they are on the hill over looking the grounds with a picnic."

"Thank you, I shall make my way up and see to it that all is well. But for now, please take this rota to the guards, and continue as you were."

As Oda left his office and made his way to where Smom, Grundal and Molly were, he started to laugh, thinking of the look on Grundals face when the Guard stopped him.

With out stretched palms facing forward, grundal moves not one muscle nor betray his readiness to drop to a sideways roll and plant a boot in the mans groan. Then Smom's actions calmed the situation. Grundal stares the soldier eye to eye and sees the man does not avert his own gaze until he is well with in the woods. Impressed by the mans resolve grundal chuckles once he is sure the man is well out of hearing range.

Milady that is one you should keep an eye on for promotion I know I am not as young as I once was but still their are few that could get in behind me with out my knowing it.

Accepting Smoms offer to have a bit of lunch with them on this fine day Grundal sits down along side his cousin. well Molly what you bring us good to eat he says brimming a smile from ear to ear

Tired, Whisper returns to his new cottage deep within the forest on the Morgan estate..

"Well the deer a breeding again." he mutters to himself. "HEEL" he calls to the wolf hounds Connor and Robin, nothing agitates the wildlife more than a loose dog.

Entering the cottage he throws a log onto the rude hearth. The place is still new and lacks any of the personal touches that a house should have... Perhaps it is better this way he muses, as he settles down to skin the brace of mountain hare he has caught today.

"I may not live in the big house, but we will eat like kings at least".

Coyotee arrives at the castle after arriving back from his trip to Beeston, looking about he takes notes of its structure and admires the architect. Wondering if Smom would have room in her army for one more and thinking"I wouldnt mind being a Crimson Dragon for a change" and heads up to the gate..

There is a gentle knocking at the door, instantly starts the dogs barking, and startles me from my slumber.

"HEEL" I Bellow, "quiet you two"
Grabbing some rags I pull them on, and stagger up rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

"Who’s is it" I call out "What do you want" fear creeping into my voice.
No it cannot be, I have moved on.. They could not; surely it is too far….

With growing trepidation i reach for the door and slowly open it.

Hearing Molly's voice i open the door, and look around.
"Sorry I thought you might be........... Well never mind that. Come in, Come in I cannot have you standing on my step." The hounds rush through the door, and jump up in greetings of Molly. "Seems they remember you Milady" mumbling "seems the got more sense than me" Can offer you a drink or some bread? The water in the jug is fresh, or there is beer." Looks around his humble lodgings, this really is no place to entertain one of my employers.

"Please take a seat... How are you? What’s happening at the house? I cannot really leave the forest at the moment the deer are foaling, its a difficult time. I don’t hear much out here you see."

Momentarily I wonder if I should mention the poachers, her ladyship should be told if there are strangers in the forest, but no this is my land i will solve this myself.

Coyotee upon reaching the castle's gate sees Smom with a guard and another gentleman being held at spearpoint. By the stance of the gentleman Coyotee knew he was a seasoned warrior and not knowing was transpiring he readied his staff to defend Smom if need be..

Oda is walking the Castle grounds, surveying the outline and taking in the surroundings.

As he walks past the lake, which is still slightly frozen in places, he hears faint footsteps behind him. Thinking nothing of it, he walks on but notices the footsteps are getting louder, and it sounds like they are running. Oda slows down and put his hand on the hilt of his sword, and turns around. With a small feeling of relief he sees it's one of the guards.

"Captain! We have someone in the Guard House! He was seen close to the Baroness and General Grundal but we managed to retain him without disturbing them. He is in the Guard House now. What should we do with him?"

"I will go down now to see to him myself, I would like you to go and see the Baroness, and inform her that we have a prisoner. I shall be at the Guard House until she arrives. "

With that Oda made haste to the Guard House. This was not good, only here a day and already a prisoner! Oda glanced behind him and saw the guard heading towards the Baroness.

As she sits peacefully with Grundal chatting about the promotion Oda was about to receive, a soldier rushes up "Baroness, We have someone in the Guard House! The Captain would like to see you right away."
"Shall we Head down there and see what is up? I do want to see Oda anyway and tell him of his promotion myself. I wonder who they have caught? None of my known enemies is thought to be near currently, are they?"she stands up and waits for Grundal's reply.

Listening to the man as he reported the capture of an intruder then the baroness's inquisitive concerns of any enemy's near by. Grundal looked at his friend saying .

My lady that is a subject ive wanted to talk to you about. It shall have to wait for a bit more . let us go and see what this intruder has to say for him self

with this grundal whistled for old'bil and the group made their way to the guard house.

As they go to the Guard house, she ponders what Grundal has just alluded to. Could someone who meant her family harm be here? She quicken her pace to find out, knowing Grundal could keep up easily with his long legs.

Glancing at him as they reached the door "We will speak of that matter soon my friend."and they enter the Guard house and go straight to Oda's office.

As Oda waited in his office, he heard the Guard House door open then close. This must Smom he thought. He went to the door and opened it, supposed to see Grundal standing behind Smom.

"Come in, please. I'll get straight to the matter because this man was armed.

The Guards apprehended him about 500 yards from your location with Grundal on the hill. He had a staff in his hand, but the guards managed to hold him silently from behind and bring him to the guard house. They thought it was best you weren't disturbed.

I have not spoken to the man myself, I thought you may want to see him first."

Oda waited, wondering how the Baroness would take this.

Standing there as Oda spoke she tried to keep a serious look on her face, when she could do it no more she burst out laughing, startling Oda and her troops, even her old friend Grundal looked puzzled.

"Oda I have to commend you on your troops. Not once but twice today they have managed to protect me from those I call friend. This man is no other than Coyotee, a good friend of my cousins Richard and Cat. He can be released as he is no harm." she looks at her friend Coyotee "Unless he is here with bad news in which case put him in the stocks, I am having to pleasant a day to deal with bad news." she laughs as Coyotee gets a look on his face as he was unsure to believe her or not "I am just jesting Coyotee. I am actually pleased to see you here."

Grundal chuckles at the fact of yet another friend being challenged by the guards of Kirkoswald Castle .

Cousin Oda, Grundal says if your men do half as well against those that mean our family harm I feel the castle is in good hands.

Turning to Coyote with a smile on his face he says

well seems you and I have something in common nothing like having a spear at your back to get your blood pumping is there ?
We need to leave with in the hour to attend a dinner at Morgan Manor can you meet us at Capt. Morgans for that drink we can discuss your joining the crimson dragon there?

Upon hearing that the guards had stopped yet another friend of Smom's, a great smile crossed Oda's face. Yes it was slightly embarrassing, but at least he knew his Guards here at Kirkoswald Castle were doing a very good job!

"Coyote, I'm so sorry about this! You must understand the guards were acting on direct orders from myself. As you may of heard one has already had the pleasure of holding Grundal here at spear point!". Oda laughed at his.

"Please, join me in my office for a small drink, we need to make haste to Morgan Manor soon."

Once they were all in the office, Oda poured four small glasses of Whiskey, handed one to Smom, Grundal and Coyote and drank his own in one.

"I'm sorry, so rude of me! Please, take a seat."

"I have the horses from Oisin O'Brian ... they should be expected." Aubrianna crossed her arms tightly and scowled at the little man at the gate that seemed to be new at his post as he and the other man just looked at eachother to see if it was possible. "Quickly." Aubree snapped.

Normally it would have been her sister's job. This trip should have been handed down to Jenibelle, the apple of her father's eye, or it should have gone to Tori. Not Aubrianna. It was unfair.

"I don't have it here on the form ...." The younger of the two piped up as he shuffled through the pieces of paper in his hand. Rolling her eyes, Aubree passed down the letter from both Jenibelle, requesting the horses, and from her father, tallying up how many and what type. Some of the pure bred ones for the officers even came complete with documentation of their linages.

"Here is the paper work ... come on man, I have to get back to Ireland. There is a few men that I left in their ales for their loss of me. I want to go back and keep them company." A mischevious glint captured her eye as she lightly brushed her finger tips across the man's jaw line, her face inching to his. "So ... will you ... help ... me ... out." Aubree whispered feeling her breath bounce back to her off his lips.

All the man could do was nod and press them through the gates. Smirking Aubree tapped the reins of the carrage and lunged forward with the rest of her train and the fifty horses that the O'Brian's were giving to the Morgan's.

Tori scowled as she pushed her horse to its limits. Of course she'd get the letter from her father late. Of course! So with a quick apology to her employers and a request to go visit Kirkswald Castle, which of course had been granted, Tori was headed off to stave off trouble with her sister.

Not Jen, not even Dayton, hell if she got told she had to keep Dayton out of trouble she'd keel over dead on the spot. No, she had to keep her elder sister Aubree out of trouble. Why the hell did it fall to her to keep somone older than her out of trouble?! It couldn't be Jen. No not her ladyship. Had to be the roaming merc who caused enough trouble in her own right.

As she made her way up to the castle, she spotted what were unmistakably O'Brian horses, and spurred her horse (not an O'Brian one) on faster to catch. It took some doing, and nearly bowling over a guard, who quickly recognized teh Crimson Dragon and rank insignia on her cloak, but she managed to catch up with the carriage, and pull the heaving horse in.

"Good day Aubree, here to cause trouble?"

Aubree spun around as she supervised the men unloading the horses. "Would I get into trouble?" Aubree asked before she waved her hand. "Nevermind ... I'm not here to get into trouble. I'm here to hand over these horses and to go back home." She paused before she pulled Tori over to the side. "So ... who's Jen with and why would she ask Da to send his finest?"

I arrive just in time to see the procession of fine horses move across the courtyard.
I'm the master of the stables, Richard is my name, I was made aware of your arrival by my brother Oda, As I understand it he is currently in his office and may join us in a while to look over the horses you have delivered.

I point in the direction of the stables and carrals.

I'll make sure the staff is ready to lend a hand, we have a lot of work to do now that you are here

I'll send the boy to the house to summon mi'lady, I'm sure she will be very pleased to hear that you have made it safely

She grinned, oh to be evil. She was given enough time to ponder it though when Richard came over and talked to them. The young woman gave a nod, then politely said, "If you will excuse me, kind sir, I have not seen my sister for many a year. There's much catching up to do."

With that Tori placed a firm but gentle grip on Aubree's arm and steered her away from the horses. "Jenibelle is now her Lady Jenibelle, betrothed to Lord Blake Morgan. The Morgans are a fairly influential family in the region. In fact," Tori tapped her red dragon insignia, "I am part of their guard."

When they were under a tree, still in sight of the stables and house, Tori stopped and looked at her older sister. "So, I think that's impressive enough for Da to send his best."

Aubrianna looked down at the insignia and back up to Tori's face. "Oooooo part of the guard. Aren't we special eistigi liom (listen to me) little sis ... they have a big house ... and are in politics .... Da's best? I don't think so." She retorted back before she pulled Tori's arm away from her. "Jen ... well now I know what Jen has gotten herself into .... Any attractive members to this family?" Aubree asked hopefully. "That stable hand was handsome."

Instructing the stable hands in directing the horses to their stalls I take a mental note of four of the finest horses of the mob.
these will be the Commander his Captain and Luentents horses.

I motion to the handlers -
I want those four horses kept aside in the main carral for now so I can take a closer look at then

I turn around and I stand in ore as my eyes fall apoun a magnificent animal.
This is with no doubt the one for mi'lady

I have the horse moved into the main stable for special attention.

I want this one brushed and wiped down and change that bridel out for the one hanging on the wall over there ... once your done throw the blanket over him to keep him warm.

The stables are a hive of activity as I make my way over to the tack room to inspect the riding gear.

I stop to look back at the ladies who had arrived earlier admiring thier poise and stature as they stand talking to one another.... and I smile.

Looking over the saddles, bridels and reins, I write down what needs to be done to each and every one, the slightest scratch, loose stitch, a torn strape all goes under close scretainy, I leave nothing to chance, I pick up a length of rope.

Walking back into the courtyard I decide it's time to look over the five horses I have the handles set aside earlier
I walk over to the first caral to look at the horse I feel best suits mi'lady tastes.
I slowly move toward the animal with my hand out.
In low tones "It's ok, I'm here for you, come on"

The horse slowly moves toward me nodding his head as if understanding my words.
I reach into my pocket and pull out a piece of carret from my crop and offer it to him and he nusals at my hand.
I slid my other hand slowly up along his face, reasuring him with my words.
I slip the rope through the bridel and with one hand knot it and letting my hand slid down the rope, I let the horse see what I'm doing so I have his trust.
ok, lets see what you can do.
I let out the rope and start swinging the loose end around and the horse starts to move around at a steady canter, front hooves prancing.

Very nice I think to myself and I smile.

I swing the rope a little faster and without missing a beat the horse starts into a gallop, I motion at him to slow and then change direction and without missing a beat he does.

The smile on my face browdens.

I slow him down and pull the rope toward me.
good work, I think we have a little more work to do but I think we can continue this tomorrow.

I hand the rope to the handler.

Brush him down and put him in his stall

This is going be a great pleasure working here with these horses

I drop my hoe and grit my teeth, scratching at the several large welts growing on my thighs and arms. Bugs are bad here in the South. Absently I continue my animal scratching as I gaze over the landscape. Ground's nice though. Looks fertile, workable, kind. Not like the frozen rocky ground up north. Give and take, I guess.

People are a bit friendlier too. Like that nice lady at the Morgan's pub. She don't know me from Adam's stable boy, but yet she was nice enough to invite me up to the manor to apply for the guard. Must have been something about me she liked for a guard. Well, I am taller than a Dutchman, and wider than a beer-lovin' Tueton...

Little does she know, huh...

I pull the whistle out of my satchel, careful to look around to make sure no one's looking. You never know how people might react to a whistle blower in a new town, especially one who carries it on him even when he's got his elbows in the grime.

*whistles a solemn tune, gradually picks up tempo*

Wheat growing is nice. Sure beats the last job I had. Steady work, no hassle... except these bugs.

*SLAP*

*whistle continues*

I could be a guard again. Seems quiet around here. People up north always looking to give a guard something to do to earn his keep. Maybe they'll just let me alone. I can just guard. Than I won't have to deal with...

...well never mind, don't think about that.

*whistle shrieks*

I look at my whistle. Got it in Ireland. Now it's smashed. Probably won't be able to find a new one around here.

Back to the hoe... yes, this is much more relaxing than my last job.

After a few days of working with the horses, grooming, feeding, watering, My staff and I finally have them prepared for the Armed Guard, and Mi'lady.

I check over the riding gear to make sure all the repairs I needed had been done to my full satisfaction, not wanting a single problem comming back to me because of anothers unforeseen actions.

I assemble and talk with my staff ...
I am very pleased with the work you all have done in such short time, Im sure once Oda, his Captains and most importently Mi'lady see's the fine work you have accomplished here, you will all be rewarded in due course.

I want all the horses saddles, bridle and bits polished, gleaming, once you all have done this, saddle the horses for inspection and I want you all to clean up and be wearing your best clothes.

and with a quiet murmer the staff hassen to thier duties and in timely fashion are done within two hour, Ready for inspection.

I have one of the boy's run to the house to find Mi'lady to inform her that we are ready .

Aubree leaned against a post in the barn. Hidden in the shadows she watched the head of the stable work. Tori would have killed her if she knew what she was thinking. But Tori was back in Ireland with Jen. Finally where Jen needed to be. Taking care of business like she should have been. Who cared about the family or if she were going to marry someone.

"You know ... the O'Brian's sent their finest mounts to you ... as a gift." She spoke up when his meeting was over. "I was just making sure you knew that." Her tone was neutral as she spoke as her eyes checked him out. Men that actually did work for a living were much more fun to look at. A soft voice of Jen and Tori's told her that she shouldn't be doing what she was doing. But she didn't care. She was about to have fun.

I turn around.

Not suprised by the voice comming from the barn, even though all my thoughts and attention was on my job at hand I had a feeling I was being watched.
Looking into the shadows I see a shaply figure leaning against a post.
I stroll forward toward the barn putting my hand above my brow to shade the sun from my eyes.
I give a little smile as I see with more detail who it is.

These are magnificent animals without doubt, I'm sure they will do both families proud.

I stand a few feet away with my hands clasped in front of me, My 6 foot, 4 inch frame filling some of the void in the door way, looking down a little at the beauty that is before me.

How long have you been standing there?

I take a step back and lean back against the post behind me, placing my hand against the post and proping one foot up, I reach up behind my head and pull a length of straw from the bail and with a smile put it in my mouth.

I stomp my feet at the entrance to the tavern, ready to greet everyone with a grin and a back slapping. My first harvest was a success, and on the same day my application for the guard was accepted. Surely my experience in this town would prove to be a positive one.

There were a few hesitant returned smiles, not as friendly as they seemed before. What had I done wrong? My insecurities ran rampant. I had this type of experience before. There was some local culture, some tradition, something minor I had missed in my absent minded oblivion, and because of my faux pas I was now judged. Not harshly, but I wasn't one of them.

Or perhaps some bit of information about my past had reached this small town in England...

As I moved slowly toward the bar, I noticed a familiar cloak shrouding a small frame in the corner. As soon as I looked in his direction, those tiny, beady eyes stared right back at me. I would have recognized the shifty Muscovite from any distance, even if just by his smell. I felt my pride deflate like a bellows. I hoped against hope that he hadn't been talking.

you have a visitor said the barkeep ominously. He had been talking.

My mind raced through distant memories, and simultaneously thought of the logistics of selling my field, resigning my post, and moving even further south.

I smile at the wink that's given thinking, This young lady is having fun, so I play along.

A flogging wouldbe a little rash ... (tongue in cheek) but then again ... the buttering? .. I could live with that

I look up at the sky feeling the light spring breeze on my face and I close my eyes and breath in deeply taking in the smells of fresh hay and ... a light perfume I had'nt experienced before that could only be comming from my new companion, I open my eyes and look into hers.

I was born here but I grew up in Warwick with my adopted family and yes I do enjoy the wheather also. .... and you? .... tell me all about your childhood, where did you grow up?

Listening intently as her soft voice peeks my curiosity.

"That's a lot of questions to some very secret information." Aubree retorted back playfully as she enjoyed the weather. There was a moment of silence after her remark before she continued. "Well I guess I could tell you the basics." She laughed as she turned her head to look at the man. Some of the sense of playing with him seeming to disappate. In short she was growing bored. "Grew up in Ireland ... and will be returning there soon. These horses seem to be an odd dowery for my sister Jenibelle .... apparently."

Arriving at the stables, Xander helped her load the wagon after she had put the twins in the carriage. After the Picnic hamper and blankets were placed inside, he helped her inside and joined them telling the driver to head to the Castle.
"Xander I was looking forward to a day with my children but I am really happy you are joining us. It will be nice having an Adult to converse with." glancing at Rohnan as she hears Gilly whimper "Rohnan Kieran Casey stop now. You down pull hair." she swats his little hand after she un-twines Gilly's hair from his fingers.
"Sorry Xander, he is in a hair pulling stage.....and I guess I should warn you now. Gilly has a nasty little habit as well, she bites." sighing as she shakes her head, she then looks at him and semi smiles "Good news though she is still getting teeth so it isn't too bad."sighing again "You should have seen my others, well Illynya and Asteria still wrestle like animals and they are grown ladies now. I guess I am a bad mother." she can't help but laugh at herself as she looks at him and the unique expression he makes when she mentions the girls.

As they ride towards the Castle she is weary as he hasn't answered her since they left the Manor Stables.

Bad mother I think not, your children are high spirited nothing more, take after their mother I'll wager, not that I am a gambler. I must say it was most kind of your late husbands father to send tradesmen all the way from Ireland to help. The Irish are wonderful tradesmen you know?

As she could not stop looking at him as he sat there calm and unaffected as her little ones tried her patience trying to climb down the seat, causing her to constantly pull one back up next to her.

"Why thank you Xander but, I think they take after their father there. You would have liked him, of that I am sure." she paused as once again Rohnan slid off the seat. "You know little man I should let you stay down there was I not worried you would bruise your little bum." she said to her son as she picked him up once again this time holding him as Gilly seemed to have stopped as well for a moment.

"Now where was I?" she spoke to Xander once more as Rohnan squirmed a bit in her arms "Sorry these two need to burn off some energy as you can see." pausing to collect her thoughts she continues "My father in law is indeed a most generous man, I am truly blessed to still have his assistance. It might be as Kieran was his only son and therefore Rohnan is now his only heir with Gilly as back up should he come to an early demise, jah willing we will never find out. The men he sent have worked here before as they are the ones who built Bracknell and Morgan Manors. They know the area here well and that should help you."she pauses to smile at him and notices where as she has been distracted by the children he has never wavered in looking at her, her smiling getting bigger before she realizes he must only be being polite to her as she is a widow and he is working for her, her smile wanes a bit. Glancing out she sees the guard gate coming up. "Looks like we are here. I can't wait to hear what you have planned."

As the carriage pulled through the gates Xander impetuously took Smoms hand and kissed it.

Ahh we have arrived, now I hope to repay you the generosity and kindness you have shown my family. Molly, Oda, Rosanna, Squire and Elensar all speak of you with the highest regard.
May I be so bold as to say you are a beautiful woman, I am honored to be at your service, I hope that I may be able to socialise with you. Though I fear it may not be possible as I am not of noble birth!

She smiled as he blushed, he was a handsome and polite man, and she did enjoy his company very much. Taking a deep breath ...

"Xander I would be honored but, I must ask you to speak to my son as it would only be proper to get his approval. As for titles I am sure your family has told you that although I have them and it affords me a richer life, I don't care if one has one or not. My Kieran had no title and it did not matter at all to me. Titled or not it is the person and their Loyalty who matters, not a name on a paper in the King's court." looking into his eyes as he continues to hold her hand she smiles and sits there for a moment before hearing a loud thump, followed by crying.

Looking to where the noise came from she sees Gilly on the floor of the carriage. "Oh sweetie are you Ok?" she places Rohnan down and goes to reach for Gilly. Before she can Xander picks her up. Sitting and watching the man who just asked to court her doing so, she is suddenly afraid it will all end now as Gilly likes few people holding her.

Hearing the thud and seeing Gillanna on the carriage floor, tears on her little face, Xander lent forward and gently picked her up, gently cradling her in his arms.

There there little one, hush those tears now he said softly, as he wiped the tears from her face and brushed her hair from her eyes. Cradling Gilly in his arms, he gently rocked her as she calmed down

Seeing Gilly take to him and calm down right away was a good, yet scary sight to behold. This man was certainly a charmer but, weren't the last two as well. She would not be so trusting this time. Feeling the carriage come to a stop in front of the castle she picks up Rohnan.
"Shall we? I believe we have a castle to show you and a lazy picnic to enjoy by the river."she pauses "And thank you for picking up my daughter, I can see you are not a stranger to holding little ones. Dare I ask where you learned to do so?

I do not know how or why, but I seem to have a knack with children.

Xander alighted from the carriage, then assisted Smom down, then helped her with Rohnan and Gillianna before getting the hamper and blankets.

If I may be so bold as to take Rohnan for you, he is an inquizitive one and there are many things which he could hurt himself on here

He smiled as he surveyed the building supplies stacked around the grounds, seeing the workers unloading more timber nearby

Xander and Smom walked the grounds as he pointed out the various materials he had gathered. He showed Smom a floor plan of the castle, before the walked up the hill to the Winmill. Where with the children they enjoyed the hamper Smom had packed, chatting about family and each other.As the children grow tired and irritable, we pack up and return to the Manor to get ready for the dinner that night at The Casa de Marius

"Only one hundred?" Aubree stated simply with an arch of her eyebrow. "I'm more woman than you can ever afford. No amount will secure my hand. But thanks for the try." She stated simply and without the warmth of earlier. Silently she hoped that he would just be in for the fun. Then he had to go and ask for marrage. Men.

I wasnt making an offer, nor would I even try to mi'lady, it's obvious we are of two totally different worlds and thats fine, personelly I prefer to just have fun when the moment arises and I hope it's still here.

Stopping by the well in the middle of the courtyard I take the laddel filled with water from the bucket and offer it to Aubree .... hoping for some sort of spontenaity

Standing for a few seconds and seeing no response from Aubree, I move the laddle to my own mouth and take a much needed drink from the cold, refreshing water and pour the remainder over my head and run my fingers though my hair. ... smiling politly ...

I need to get back to work now, Still a lot to take care of and being the Marshel I have many reponsabilities.

And with that I turn around and walk back to the stable where we started our stroll ... Thinking to myself ..... so many possabilities ..... and I laugh to myself.

Half way back across the courtyard a huge comotion errupts from the stables ... yelling, fearful and angry voices merge, sounds of a horse in distress, I sprint to the building just in time to see my leading hand with a rope in one hand pulling with all his might at the horse, she stands on her back legs lashing out at him and a whip in the mans other hand, yelling at the top of his vioce all kinds of obsenities, with one swift motion I hit the man in the face knocking him down for the count and catching the rope in mid-flight with my other I look sternly around the barn for quiet which I get, The horse almost immediatly calms down to where I can talk to her, her head bobbing up and down in frustration .... in low tones

It's ok my love, quite now, It will be ok now

I put my hand out to her and she moves toward me still a little frustrated but notably calmer

Take that fool out into the courtyard, I'll deal with him in a few minutes .... Now what on earth is going on here?

one of the hands explains that the horse wouldnt move into the stall for the man and thats when it all started ... shaking my head

If it ever happens again there will be all hell to pay

with the horse calmed down totally now I walk the horse into her stall and walk out into the courtyard to meet the fool I had just knocked out, just in time to see him come to ... shaking my head "no" I watch as he gets to his feet.

All the horses here are to be treated with respect, The only action they will see is out in the field of battle, Not in thier own home where they should feel safe, Am I understood? .... the man gets to his feet and takes a wild swing at me and connects squarly on my jaw, I take two steps back, dabbing at my mouth I see the blood and a smile comes across my face that would make anyone nevious and with speed I give him a upper-cut and send him sailing backward about four feet on to the cobble stone.

Take that yeast infected cod piece off this land now and when he comes to tell him "if I ever see him again, he'll wish he was never born".

With that I walk back to the stable alone .... Guess I'll be looking for a new leading hand now. ... and I laugh

On arrival at Kirkoswald Xander took Smom by the hand leading her past vast quantities of building supplies in the front door into the Great Hall.


He allowed her a few moments to soak in the atmosphere the he turned to her. Please Smom look up


Xander then took her arm an led Smom to the Drawing Room.


Taking Smoms hand again Xander then took her through a side door.

This is your own private sitting room a sanctuary so to speak, with your own private staircase to your chambers and the nursery


Taking her up stairs he showed Smom her Chambers and the Nursery


I hope you like the renovations so far, if you don't it can be changed, but I do have something else to show you

He took Smom back onto the landing


which led to the Grand Staircase which took them back to the Great Hall


I trust this meets your needs and your approval, though I must apologise that I have not finished

Xander stood beside Smom awaiting her reactions to his work

After their ride to Kirkoswald, Xander dismounts and helps her down from her horse, leading her inside the castle she is in total awe.
"Oh my" she looks around as he leads her from room to room pointing out the different features, the celling "The woodwork and skill..." she looks at Xander "I would never have believed a roof so pretty."

As he leads her to her room and the children's nursery, then the landing. She runs a hand along the banister railing feeling its craftsmanship "How.....when....when did you have time to do this?" she looks at Xander puzzled as she follows him down a grand staircase. In total shock she sits down on the bottom steps.
"Had I not seen it I would not have believed it could be done in so little time and with such attention to detail." pausing to look around once more she finally takes a deep breath" Do show me more, I think I am ready now."

Smom I am so glad what we have done meets your approval, the men have worked long and hard.

Looking at Xander as he took her hand "Yes, Molly does do a wonderful job. She has been a Jah send to me." blushing as he kisses her hand, not letting it go, she listens to what he says... spend time with her and her family?....did she hear that correctly?...would she mind?... she smiles at him as she ponders the implications of all he has said to her in the last two days.

"Xander Marius it would be my honor to spend time with one as knowledgeable and skilled as you." she looks into his eyes as he still holds her hand, and squeezes his gently back "All three of my children you have met so far seem to be in your awe as well, this does make me wonder what my Illy would say of her mother being courted by one such as yourself. But that is a concern for another day." she sighs and smiles "Can you show me which cottage you wish to stay in sir? I would dearly love to spend some more time in the fresh air whilst it is so pleasant out."

Turning bright red as he kissed her cheek, one would think her a young naive girl with how he made her feel, not the widowed mother she really was.

Hoping to draw attention away from her blushing yet wishing she could kiss him properly, even if only once, knowing it would never be as her upbringing would not allow it, she turned and pointed to a bunch of flowers in the corner of the yard.

"What flowers are those? They look familiar but I cant recall the name."she quickly took attention off herself, she hoped "Yes, I do believe the children would love it here. Thank you for thinking of a safe place for them to get fresh air yet, would we not be intruding on your work?"

"Bluebells...now why could I not figure that out, they are blue.They are quite beautiful." she giggles feeling relaxed around him yet, a tension was there between them.

Was this the start of something good or, just another disappointment in her life that she would bare the scars for once again. Well..... she remembered an old saying 'to make an omelet one must first break some eggs' she was not getting any younger and who knows how many more eggs she would get to crack.

"Xander, I would look forward to getting to know you better even if over lunches. And I know little Rohnan loved playing with you on our picnic. I hardly believe they are talking now. Gilly spoke just this morning. Family is extremely important to me, I have suffered the pain of my family being fractured and scattered to the four winds, I would not wish that on any family, I will if you would allow me do everything I can to assist you in keeping your family together for as long as you desire me too

Solumn removed his helmet and started to look around. He murmured to himself, "Nice place, I could use it one of these though." he finally reached the main hall.

Solumn said loudly to a servant and there was no emotion on his face. The tiny guy was rather scared to answer.

"Never mind, I will go look for myself."

Solumn walked away disappointed and began to explore the castle.

Hearing her sons voice ask "Where is my Mother?" as it echoed through the castle, Smom made her way towards the sound and met him half way.

"Here I am Sol. Are you ok? Is anything wrong?" she holds him at arms length to look at him squarely, seeing the blank look on his face she decides he must just be in a Sol type of mood today and hugs him "No matter whatever it is can wait. You must come have a drink. I insist." leading him into her parlor.

"Xander look who has come to join us for a drink." she says as the walk in. "Would you mind keeping him company while I go see to getting more firewood brought in." not waiting for an answer she leaves the two of them alone.

Following behind her was a servant who laid a armload of wood down near the hearth and added to the fire. 'Why was it castles were always so cold?' Smom wondered before smiling at the two men in her life and waited for an answer.

Solumn tried to control himself and said a lower tone, "Also take good care of yourself, good luck... you might need it later." then he burst a laughter.

Not paying attention to the actual view herself but, to gaze back at her dinner companion. Nodding in agreement to the view as she picked up her wine, a servant had just poured "To health and prosperity" and took a sip for distraction. He made her feel young and vibrant and not like the widowed mother of 4 she was. He had cast a spell over her she was sure but, did not care, she could not get enough of his company since they met months earlier.
"I do hope we are still eating the lovely meal they had cooking in the Castle kitchen, it smelled delightful."

Smiling at the delicious meal set in front of her, she could not help but to take a bite, she was famished. As she enjoyed the wonderful intricacies of flavor as they seemed to explode in her mouth, she listened to Xander. When she finally swallowed, she knew she must answer him so, she spoke her mind, all be it a bit fretful that she would scare him off.
"I would like nothing more than to dine with you here often. Being in your company these last few months has brought a part of me back to life I thought had died when my husband was taken from me." suddenly aware of her words she blushed.

Dropping the fork in her hand as she looks at him in total shock. She wasn't stupid, she knew what he and her son had discussed before they came out here, didn't she. Why else would Solumn have said such words had Xander not have asked for her hand.

But now with him asking it was all too real. Did she love him? Did she love him enough to devote her life to him as his wife?

Gazing into his eyes, as he seemed concerned with each passing moment she did not verbally respond, she could not help but to admit to herself she truly was in love with him.

Did she love him? YES
Did she love him enough for a lifetime? YES
Could she picture a life now without him in it? NO
Would he make a good father for her children? YES
Having her doubts and questions answered, a smile slowly replaced the shocked look on her face.

Reaching across to hold his hand, she notices a slight tremble as he awaits an answer.

As Xander raised his glass and toasted Smom sat shaking her head. A toast, was he crazy...or just that naive to ways of the world. He was a gem, all be it a rough one but a gem none the less.

Rising from her chair she approached him, once at his side she offered her hand to help him stand. Knowing she was being forward, she did not care. If this man was to be her husband and partner in life they must...they just must.

Once he was standing she looked up at him, he seemed so confused but, not for long. Putting her arms around his neck "All of that and not even one kiss for your future bride. Only a toast?" she smirked up at him.

As she slowly became of aware of her surroundings, she noticed the chill in the air from the slight breeze coming off the river. What a beautiful spot, when it becomes a bit warmer it will be a wonderful spot to come enjoy the view. Now this spot would always have a special place in her heart. Looking at Xander once more she thought if possible she would burst from all the happiness swelling inside of her. To soon be his wife, she could hardly believe it yet knew it could be no other way.

Her head finally back out of the clouds she absorbs what he is saying

"I think going back to the castle would be best as well." she looks into his eyes once more and beams as she smiles "Obviously we will tell Solumn first but whom next?" sipping the freshly poured wine as she awaits his answer.

Opening the door and allowing Smom to enter, they move into the great hall and through the side door into the drawing room, where the fire blazed.
While you get comfortable I will pour some tea

Xander went to the side table where staff had left a pot of tea and cups. He poured two cups, Xander placed a cup on the side table and sat next to Smom. The heat from the fire taking away the chill of the night air

Nothing beats a good fire to take away the chill

"Yes, it is very nice. I would like one thing though." she says sheepishly "My tea seems to be a bit cold. Would you mind terribly if I warmed it up? It was a kind thoughtful gesture, and I do not mean to complain." she moved close to the fire and placed her cup close enough to warm it but not heat it to much as she did have to pick it up again.

Kieran was living in Ireland with his grandparents for a few years, he had not seen his father for a very long time and was become weary and upset to whether he was going to see him again. His father had joined the army and has since then settled down somewhere in england, wondering why his father had not returned or even been in contact with him, Kieran had decided to venture out and look for him.

After traveling around much of england and asking around many taverns he got some very valuable information from a certain...... that his father had remarried.....

'Baroness Shriekersmom Morgan-Casey..??' he said surprisingly to the bartender
'where can i find them now?' he asked
'o i laddy, i heard last they were somewhere in Cumberland, you should go to the town of Penrith and ask around there.' the bartender replied

So thats where Kieran set off for, determined to find his father,

Finally arriving in the pleasant and quiet town Penrith, Kieran was in need of a decent night sleep so decided to rent a hovel for the night. The next day Kieran was wondering around the town asking people if they knew where his father was, no one would answering him. He notices 2 guards walking past,

'they must know where my father is' he tells himself.

'excuse me, excuse me!' he shouts

'what do you want we are very busy' one of them replied

'you know where my father is? i hear he has remarried to a lady called Shriekersmom Morgan-Casey, you know where i can find them?'

The 2 guards look at each other and have a little whisper to each other.

Kieran waits impatiently,' well do you know?' he snaps.

The 2 guards stop whispering, ' go to Kirkoswald castle just outside of Penrith, now go, leave us to our duties' 1 of them says.

Been sure this would be his last stop, and will finally see his father again, Kieran, with out hesitating,runs towards the castle. Kieran had many questions for his father and couldn't wait to get answers from him.

Running up to the front gate, Kieran starts shouting ' father! father! it is i,your son!'

one of the guards at the gate shouts back, 'OI! wad'ya think ya doing, stop shouting, get away from here, stop causing trouble,'

'iv traveled far to find my father, i hear he is here at the castle, i must see him!' Kieran replies, then shouts again, 'father!'

The guard shouts back again 'i told you to stop shouting!' then says 'who are you?, who's ya father?'

'i am Kieran Casey II, son of Kieran Casey, i was told he was here at the castle, with his wife Baroness Shriekersmom Morgan-Casey, can i see him?'

The guard looks a bit confused and doesn't know what to say or do,
'wait here....' the guard says, and walks in through the gate.

Having been informed there was a young man at the gate claiming to be her husbands son, Smom could only wonder if it was the really him. When she had met Kieran, the Irish soldier, she knew he had a son but that he was raised by his deceased mothers family as Kieran himself was away in battle often. Hearing that he was asking for his father made her heart sink.

Her Father in Law was to inform the boy of his fathers passing she now wondered why that had not occurred. With heavy heart she went to greet Young Kieran to share with him the news and welcome him to her home. As she walked slowly to the gate she wondered if he even knew of his siblings. He will receive news of a great loss and a wonderful blessing today.

Seeing him, as she approached, made her heart skip a beat till she realized it was not the Father but, the son she was looking at. He looked so like his father with his dark hair and strong masculine lines, she wondered if he had the same striking blue eyes as well, the ones his siblings had inherited for their father.

"Kieran? Kieran Casey II?" she asked the young man who she had no doubts about being her step son "I am Baroness Shriekersmom, if you would follow me up to the castle we can sit and share a drink and talk. I have much to tell you."

Seeing Kieran's excitement makes her heart grow heavier as she knows she has to break his. Exchanging small talk about the weather and flowers as they approach the Castle she leads him to her personal Parlor. Once seated she pours him a stiff drink and one for herself, they both may need it before the day is done.

"Kieran, I must say as I am happy to finally meet you, your showing up has surprised me a bit." seeing him look around as if he is hoping his Dad will show up, she takes a deep breath "Your father won't be joining us." the look on his face showed disappointment.

Sitting on a stool by his chair "I wish I could say he would join us later but, he won't be." taking one of his hands in hers "Your father was taken from us last year. He died as he lived, with a sword in his hand." she paused for him to absorb it. "Your Grandfather told me he was going to inform you. I do not know what happened unless.....you came searching as he went to tell you and you missed one another."

"Kieran, I want you to know your father did not leave you alone in this world. You will always have me and your brother and sister." she paused to allow him time to respond.

There is a moment silence as Kieran tries to take in the grave news of his father, he stands up and walks a few feet away from smom facing away.

"why was i not told"he sobs to himself "my grandfather always told me he would be fine"His heart sinks deeper still,Kieran was tough and cried very little, finding out that his father had been slane was enough to bring tears to his eyes

Theres is a few minutes silence still. Kieran wipes the tears from his face, and finally turns round and sits with smom.

"I must thank you, for the truth you have told me, i now know where my father is and that he is save now, and he will always be with me, watching over showing me the way."

"still even in this dark moment i hear there is some light! a baby brother and sister you say?"

Smiling as he was able to let the emotions be felt then moving on, he was so much like his father. "Your father is buried at Bracknell Manor, My home in Reading. It is where we lived as man and wife." she smiled as she remembered the happy times.

"Yes, the twins are about to turn one. Rohnan Kieran and Gillianna Liegh Casey, your half siblings. Your father helped me name them as we awaited their arrival but, he was not able to meet them, as he was taken from us too early." she smiled " I can't wait for you all to meet. Are you here for a visit or to stay? Please think of this as your home." not sure how he will react but not caring, she hugs him. "Welcome home son."

"wow, that is wonderful news!, i can not wait to meet them, are they here at the castle? will i get to see them today?" Hearing this wonderful news sure had cheered Kieran up,

"I think i am going to be staying for while, i have family up here now which may need my help, im sure you have some use for me here at the castle, yes?". Then quieting his voice again as he thinks about his father,"Although i will be taking a visit to Reading some time soon if that is the place of my fathers burial"

Kieran, who had just found out his father was dead, now did not have any parents as his mother died when he was very young. So when smom hugged him and called him son, he felt loved and that he found his family at long last.

"I can see what my father saw in you, you are beautiful and kind in every way, and if my father loved you to be his wife, then i will love you to be my mother"

Kieran gives a big hug to smom "Thank you ... mum"

A huge smile crossed her lips as he called her Mum "I shall be picking up the twins from the Manor as soon as Xander is finished with the nursery." not knowing how he would take the news of her being engaged so soon after fining out his father had passed she decided it might be best to wait. "Alexander Marius is a skilled builder, I met in Southampton. He offered to come up North to help me make the Castle habitable for a family and not just soldiers. I can't wait for you to meet him. He will have to get your input on a room you can call your own." taking his arm "Till then lets go grab a bite to eat and walk the gardens. We should get to know one another, son." she smiles at him "My son Solumn just moved to our Ancestral home in Ireland with my elder brother but, my daughter who is just a bit older than you lives over in Keswick. She is very busy these days with Council and she is the current county Sheriff and Rector of the University. I miss her but, I am sure when she has time she will visit." her thoughts wander a bit "Perhaps on the twins birthday she will stop in." suddenly realizing the date "Oh my, I seem to need to plan a party quickly they will be one year old on Friday coming." as they continue to walk they enter the kitchen "Food first, shall we? It does smell so wonderful in here."

The last three days had been very hectic, with my Sisters illness I had spent watching over her at Morgan Manor, working my fields at home and of course my work here at the stables .... Now I could finally concentrate on my job .... Riding toward the gates to the Castle I'm met by the guard, he holds the lanten up high so he can see ....

Oh Richard your here late, how was your day? he asks

It was a great day Henery, how was yours, Anything to report?

We have a stranger here but Mi Lady seems to know him Henery leans forward and in low tones He claims to be related, very strange

I nod I'm sure it will be ok, Is my cousin Xander still here?

I think he might be in the cottage on the grounds Henery says

Ok, you have a good evening

I kick at my horses withers and we trot too the stable where we are greeted by one of the night staff I had appointed, A young fellow with short blonde hair of no more then 17 years old ... he looked up at me with glazed eyes. .... I step down and hand him the rains ....

I'll be in my office for a little while catching up on the paper work I'm sure has piled up ....

I walk over to my office, open the door and look around at the mess I have to deal with, I light another lanten so I can see clearly and start straightening up ....

"Well my son." she really liked the sound of that "I have to leave you here to eat as I have to get on with plans for the party. I shall see you later. Have one of the staff show you to a guest room for the night, we will get your room in order soon." she smiles and goes off.

Heading to the Castle scribe to see if the invitations are done, she realizes the babies will be here soon. She has missed them so.

Kieran sits down at one of the tables as one of the cooks comes over with a large beautiful fish followed by a side dish of veggies.

"THIS IS FANTASTIC!", he then gets stuck in his meal,

mouth full he says"ok, i understand you must be a very busy woman at this time," swallows his food, " please do not hesitate ask if you need any help at all, i will always be here for you"

Kieran puts some more of his fish in his mouth"If you need me, after this i think i will be taking a walk around the castle and its gardens, this is a truly beautiful place, and not finished you say? i must see more!"

Just as Smom leaves the kitchen,"bye for now mother"

Their ride to the Castle was uneventful, as Andrew seemed to have a knack
for keeping the twins amused.
They had sat on either side of Richgrams, held by her protective arms.
It also helped that the ride was a short one.
Once there, Richgrams sent the footman to fetch Smom.

Rohnan, Gillianna, watch for your Mum. She'll be here soon.

As she was out cutting flowers for the Party she hears a carriage approaching. Dropping her basket where she is she rushes to the front of the castle, the moment she was waiting for was here.

Seeing it was indeed her Mother's carriage, she rushed towards it as it came to a stop.
"Rohnan, Gilly, welcome home my precious ones."she smiles as soon as she sees them "Mum I hope you had a good trip." turning to little Andrew as the twins were squirming away from her Mum she puts her arms out "Andrew welcome to Kirkoswald Castle. You may go explore the grounds for a bit if you wish but, never let the castle leave your sight."
Watching him as he looked at her mum before running off at her nod.

She just barely catches Rohnan as he tries to climb out to reach her.
His arms outstretched "Mumm" hearing the word from her small son melted her heart and she picked him up and held him tightly to her before extending her arm to her Daughter who in a tiny whisper is heard "Mummy"enveloping her in the embrace he three of them together once more. "Mummy has a big surprise for you both. Lets let Grams out and we can go see ok?" she looks from one bundle in her arms to the other, hard to imagine they were a year old already, where did the time go.

As he rounded the corner on his way back from seeing the works foreman, Xander heard Smoms voice, the excitement in it told him that the children were here. He quickened his stride untill he reached her.

Xander took Gilly from Smom, kissing her forehead, he ruffled Rohnans hair as he greeted them

Rohnan was squirming in her arms so she places him down, holding his little hands as he stands. Slowly they take a few steps forward and Rohnan looks at Xander "Da". Shocked but, suddenly amused as Xander looks even more so, she releases Rohnan's hands and starts laughing, only later realizing her son was walking on his own.

In awe of all that had just happened in a few brief moments Smom decides it is best she sits and does so on the soft lawn, not really caring if her dress gets soiled.

"Hey Da" she giggles "You can let Gilly play here and take Mother in and show her your handy work." She watches his face to see how he is going to take being called that, still chuckling.

Xander blushed slightly, but felt good that Rohnan and Gillianna had taken to him so well. He accepted he was not their father, had feelings towards them as if he were.
He put Gilly down so she could play on the grass, he then turned to Richgrams.
I say Richgrams, would you care to see the castle, I must apologise for the work still being done, but Smom deserves nothing but the best

Levoc wanders up to the castle watching as the twins run around chasing one another. Under Levoc's arm were two small boxes wrapped in silver paper.

As the children played around her feet, Smom was able to finish putting up the last of the decorations.


Happy with the way they looked, she picked up the Twins and went to check on the Unicorn Toss game. The children seemed to enjoy it so she stayed for a bit. Seeing Xander now over by the Roasting Pig on the spit she and the twins made their way over to him.


"Xander that looks really tasty. Did I hear the new gamekeeper sent it over? I do have to meet him one of these days, haven't seen him since the day I hired him." handing Gilly who was straining to go to Xander to him. "This little girl loves you so much. I think she has great taste as her Mum loves you too." she smiled at Xander and leaned over tiptoed to lightly kiss his cheek as Gilly giggled.

After eating his some what 'feast', Kieran decided now would be a good time to take a stroll around KC and its gardens,"This is a beautiful place, it will be a work of art when it is finished"

On his walks around the castle Kieran hears chattering and the sounds of children, "could my siblings be finally here?" he thinks to him self, with out a moment thought follows the sounds of the children. Walking into a large open area Kieran sees the marque and the decorations,"The preparations are coming along nicely",

Looking over to the spit he sees smom and the twins stood with a gentleman tending to the pig, Kieran runs over "HaHa..finally i get to meet my little brother and sister, hello rohnan!"stroking his head,"and hello Gilly!"holding her hands, "Im your big brother, kieran"

The twins looked at Kieran not knowing who he was, and then at there mum, as if to say who is this guy??"Its ok youll get to know me soon enough"

Kieran steps up and looks at his mum "Hello again mother"Kisses smom on the cheek,"they are beautiful mum, i think it runs in the family yes?Heheh," looks towards the gentleman beside smom,"And you must be??Xander?, my mum has told me about you, you truly are kind and the castle is looking great, very nice to meet you xander"

Rosanna and Scott arrived at the castle. Rosanna was in awe as she had never been there before. They were escorted over to the party.

Rosanna was thrilled that Andrew came running to greet them and she gave him a big hug.

I have missed ye me lad. Then hurrying over she greeted the others and gave Richgrams a hug.

Milady the travelling is fun but I have missed ye so much.

Turning to Smom and Xander

I hope ye don't mind Scott accompaning me for his invitation must ha got lost.

She handed the parcels she had to Smom hoping that they would like the wee boat and the wooden doll that Rosanna had painstakingly made clothing for. She hoped there were no blood on the clothing as Rosanna were no seanstress.

Whisper enjoyed his journey to Kirkoswold with The lady of Morgan Mannor. She really was a remarkable woman. The way she encouraged the older child, whom she introduced as Andrew, to entertain and care for the younger two.

Sadly the jounrey was too short for whisper who settled into the company quickly. The sounds of a family happily at play was something he had not heard in a long time. Lost in his revery whisper nearly failed to notice the castle gates as the coach drew under them.
Calling out the the coach-man whisper asked the coach to stop and bids fair well to the occupants of the coach.

"forgive me I am not atired for a party I must return to my home first. I hope it will be acceptable to meet Smom at the twins birthday. Please look for my arrival later..."

Richgrams is so happy to see Rosanna and Scott. She hugs them both.
She watches as Andrew runs back to join the other children.

You should see him with the owls, Scott. He is taking the responsibility you gave him very seriously.
I had quite a time convincing him that the owls couldn't come with us today.
They are being well cared for.
You look radiant, Rosanna, being outdoors more has really done wonders for you.
A new friend traveled here with us, his name is Whisper. He went to his home to change clothes,
but said we will see him later. I think you will like him, as I do.
Come, let's join the others.

Elensar struggles up the track with her arms full. She looks up in wonder at the castle. She had never been here before but had heard of it as her brothers work here.

She slowly made her way towards the gates, hearing sounds of laughter and enjoyment she quickened her pace. Unfortunately, this caused her grip to loosen on the items in her arms. The delicate balance disturbed, all the items fell to the floor.

Elensar sighed to herself...she looked around, not seeing anyone around she quickly began to scoop up the gifts. This time however she could not get the adjustment right and every new thing she picked up caused her to drop one already in her arms. She grew more flustered and eventually gave up and sat on the floor next to the pile of gifts.

Suddenly she heard the noise of footsteps walking towards her...she quickly turned her head to see who was drawing nearer...

"You look like you need some help, Elensar," Meira said, walking up. "What in the world are all these parcels? Presents?" she asked, helping Elensar pick them up and taking a few for her. "I onlyhave these two."

"We should hurry, I'm afraid we're running a bit late for the party. But wasn't the trip fun?" As they approached the castle, they could hear voices and knew things were getting underway.

Elensar looks relieved as Meira walks over to her and begins helping her with her parcels.

Thank you Meira. I was struggling a bit there! I have presents for the little ones...also, I made them a cake...and I brought a present for Andrew as well. I dont want the poor lad to feel left out.

She smiles at Meira and they walk towards the castle together. Ele trips slightly then giggles.

I didn't have any good shoes of my own so Rosanna let me borrow a pair of hers...they are a little big for me...

She heard a chirping sound coming from her pocket and saw Meira looking puzzled...Oh! That's my pet...Ernie..I suppose I should leave him outside shouldn't I...

Both the girls giggled and Meira nodded and went on in. Ele went off to find a suitable location for a gosling.

She walked around to the side of the castle holding the little bird tightly while every so often tripping over her borrowed sandals.

Kieran decides to go for a little walk whilst everyone is busy settling down, if hes going to be meeting new people he would rather do it over a drink or at least when its calmed down a little.

Kieran continues his stroll which leads round one of the sides of the castle wheres sees a young lady sitting on the grass holding something, and rubbing her feet as if in pain.Kieran walks up behind the young lady"Hey there, everything ok?"

Ele is startled and turns to look behind her. Oh! Hello sir...you scared me a little.

She brushed herself down and stood up....she looked up at him quizzically.

I dont believe we have met sir. I am Elensar Marius. I live and work at Morgan Manor., she gave a small curtsey...Would you be to kind as to help me please? My pet gosling got away from me and I lost my sandal while chasing him..., she tapered off, blushing slightly that she asked this stranger to help her look for both her shoe and her baby goose!

Seeing guests arriving, a knowing glance at Xander and the 4 of them head over towards the tent and Party. Looking over at the May Pole they can dance under later she is pleased.


"Look sweetie, a pretty pole we will decorate with the ribbons later" she says to Gilly and kisses her little head.

Turning to Xander "Shall we let them play here? I see Andrew and Levoc's twins are having fun?"

As Ele turned round towards kieran he found himself talking to a very pretty young lady"ohh hello there Ele, i am Kieran, Kieran Casey II, son of Smom, and my younger siblings is who's birthday it is, im new here in these parts so i do not know many people, but i am very glad to have meet you" Kieran takes eles hand and gently kisses it.

As Ele asks for his help he laughs "Your bet gosling? and your sandal? haha ,sure i will be happy to help!" He then follows Ele looking in bushes and tall grass, all the time keeping an eye on his surroundings in case something runs past.

Elensar blushes as the man kisses her hand and then giggles as he laughs at her request for help.

They walked through the long grass searching for her sandal and keeping an eye out for the gosling. Ele turned and smiled as the man looked like he was enjoying himself, Ernie should be alright. I expect he's found himself some water...

As she was speaking she slipped and fell backwards luckily missing a patch of mud. She giggled.

Kieran was laughing then bent down...holding up her sandal in triumph.

Ele smiled and blushed a little...she replaced her sandal and Kieran helped her to her feet.

I think letting Rohnan and Gillianna play with the othersis a wonderful idea, they need to be around other children

Kieran was enjoying every minute as ele kept falling over and needed helping up, finally after a good search they found the sandal "come now, we must get back to the party, they will be wondering where we are"

With that they made their way up back to the castle grounds where it was bustling with people and children, Kieran looks around and sees the twins happily playing. He suddenly remembered he has there gifts somewhere in his room he was given to stay in, "i must leave you for now, it was a pleasure to meet you elensar marius, hopefully i will have the honour again sometime.", Kieran runs past a few people and heads into the castle...

Ele looks thankfully at Meira...she leans over and whispers, I just met Kieran Casey. He says he is Smom's son...do you know anything about him?

Meira takes the largest box for Elensar, so she doesn't have so much to carry. "Here, we can put these over on this table with the others. No, I've not heard anything about him, other than that. But I did catch a glimpse of him earlier." She sees the flush in Elensar's cheeks and the glint in her eyes. They walk further into the crowd, then she leans towards Ele.

Grundal rode thru the gates Kirkoswald Castle seeing the guards stiffen to attention grundal chuckled thinking of his last encounter with the guardians of Kirkoswald. Riding further up the road until he reached the front entryway,He dismounted handing his steed over to a servant then taking two packages from the saddle he strides over to the tent where the party was obvious to be held and says in loud boisterous voice

Ele spies food cooking and points it out to Meira, Shall we head to the food? I'd like to see if it's as good as my cooking., she gave a little wink to Meira then had a quick glance around to see if she could spot Kieran anywhere.

Irish and Ice had sailed the HMS Adventure Galley up to Cumberland to visit family there.
Having docked the ship in a town not far from their destination,they gathered the triplets and the hounds and all climbed into the waiting carriage.Ice gave the drive the directions and off they took.
A few hours later they arrived at Kirkoswald Castle, Ice climbed down out of the carriage and waited as Irish handed Liam to him,them Michael,while she herself gathered up Bella and placed her hand in Ice's as he helped them down out of the carriage, the hounds following close behind them.
Gathering all three children,gasping hands of everyone they walked up the steps and knocked waiting to be let in.

Whisper arived home and quickly moved to the bed and pulled out from under it a small wooden box. With a gentle care he rmoved the lid and placed it to one side. Laying aside the portective hessian, whisper looked dowon the contents. He took out the black silk shirt the box contained, it was not ornate yet it was made of the finest silk. Placing this shirt on the bed whisper removed another couple of items from the box, closed it and slid it under the cot.

Quickly changed whisper made his way to kirkoswold castle.

As she listens to Xander speak of the new arrivals she agrees and looks as he kisses her cheek, agreeing to meet for a drink.

Seeing her cousin, as Xander points her out, she rushes over "Irish you are a sight for sore eyes. How I missed you so." she envelopes her in a hug, seeing Ice she smiles "And Ice, I can see you have been taking good care of her." she releases Irish to give Ice a hug.

Looking down at the triplets she is amazed at how big they are. "Hello Bella, Liam and Michael" she lowers herself as she speaks to them "I don't know if you remember me, I am your Mum's cousin Smom. If you would like you may go play with the other children, they are just over near the the side of the tent playing games." she points to where the others are laughing and playing.

Standing once again she speaks to the adults once more "It is safe we are walled in so they can't wander to far and the guards are close to keep them from straying. Relax and let them be." she smiles reassuringly "I would like to introduce you both to my fiance. I believe you know him as it is because of you we met." she takes Irish's arm to lead her over to Xander "I can't thank you enough for that invitation to the Valentines Ball you had in Southampton, it changed my life, for the better." she gushed as she showed off her diamond ruby and emerald engagement ring. "The twins just adore him and his work on the castle is amazing."she waves her free hand towards the Castle

"And Kieran's elder son has just joined me from Ireland. He is so much like his father and they look like so, don't be too surprised when you meet if you feel you met him before." they walk on a bit "Irish my life here is only missing you and it would be perfect. I am so glad you and Ice came." she looks over at Ice and smiles once more.

Finally they meet up with Xander and Grundal. Releasing Irish she hugs her old friend Grundal. "Nice to see you healed once more my friend. Did your cousin tell you the news yet?" she shows him her rings as she smiles.

Irish felt herself being wrapped in a huge hug and returned it. I am happy to be here. It was a great excuse to take the Galley out for a sail. We have found that the triplets love to sail also.
She leaned over and whipsered into Bella's ear and then Maeve's. Watching as they three of them along with the hounds walk off to play with the other children.Smiling at them as they go.
I still can't believe they are walking and tlaking. They have become a handful to the point I had to hire another anny just to help Etienne out. None too soon it seems for there is another on the way. Irish lets her hand fall to her now rounding belly and smiles even wider.

An audible gasp escapes her "Oh Irish" she hugs her but gently now "I am so happy for you. When is the baby or babies ....." she looks at the triplets "due to join us? They grow up so fast don't they. Illy on council again and Solumn moving away to Ireland just as Kieran came, now the twins turning one. Well we expect this one in July sometime.Hopefully there is only one or our lives will really get complicated. your brother was at the house for a visit not too long ago.while we were all at dinner,Bella chose that particular moment to ,er, display her magical prowess. all I could think of was good thing it was family at dinner that night. I have no clue how I would have explained floating bread. Now lets go and find your mom I haven't seen her in so long.

Kieran was looking through his chest of draws, "I am sure i put them here". Getting a bit worried he searches around and sees that they are in fact on his bed.With a sigh of relief, he picks up the two gifts and makes haste outside to the party.

Walking up to where the children were playing he brings Rohnan and Gilly together, "Today is your birthday is it not? Well i have gifts for you both," Kieran quickly checks the contents of each box to see whos is whos, "ok Rohnan i believe this one is yours, and Gilly this one is yours.", children been children, they wanted to get inside.

Ice walked along with Irish as they headed over to greet Smom. He greeted Smom kindly and spoke he kept a close eye on the triplets as they headed over to the other children.

“Well I do my best to look after Irish all though she needs to take it easy now that she is with child once again.”

Ice walked kept close to Irish and Smom as they talked. Ice listened to how good how many people Smom had in Cumberland with her.

“Well it sure is nice to get out a visit every one. Wiltshire seems a little deserted these days with everyone leaving for new counties. I also afraid that the Patrons have taken over in the Parliament Buildings but I guess you can’t win every battle.”

Ice looked over to see Smom new ring.

“Well congratulations Smom, I guess we will be back really soon.”

Ice continued to listen to the conversation. When they started away Ice spoke up.

“Well if its ok with you Ladies I’ll take the hounds out for a walk I think that there a little Cabin Fever.”

Ice gave a quick whistle as he started off. Titian, Athena, and Poseidon quickly followed Ice where they were quickly joined by Maeve Fin and shadow.

Iirish turned as Ice said he was gong to take the hounds for a run. Ice ,love,leave Sicarioand Rosisin and the other 3 wolves with the children I can take them later.
Irish turned back and continued her walk with Smom. You know he spoils me something awful.Not that I am complaining,but I think he would wrap me up and keep me safe in one spot until this baby comes.Makes you love him even more.

Tas dress baby Marius and they stroll to Kirkoswald Castle for the birthday party for the twins. Tas new that walking would make them a little late but she wanted to enjoy the fresh spring air with her son.

Making their way to the Castle they were stop by the guards at the front but quickly release to continue on to the party...Making their way to the front she knocked and waited for someone to let them in.

Richgrams had been helping with the children's games, but now realized it was time to mingle with their parents.
She bent down to kiss Gilly and Rohnan, and was rushed by a number of other children looking for hugs.
She assured them all that she would be back later.
As she left the tent, she spotted Smom with Irish, and made her way over to them.

Irish! How good to see you again. It was easy to know which are your children,
just see who the wolves are watching over. I suppose Ice has wandered off with Xander?
What do you think of Smom's news? Has she shown you her ring?
Lovely party Smom. Some of the games are new even to me!

After a very long ride, Oda finally came to outskirts of Kirkoswald Castle. As he neared the main gate, he noticed one of the guards there was the same that stopped Grundal the first time he came here. Laughing as passed through, Oda noticed the great improvement on the Castle.

Reaching the stables, he was hoping to see his brother Squire, but he was nowhere to be seen. Dismounting Bastiaan and leading him to a stall, he wondered who was here already. He had noticed the huge marque but could see no one, he could only see the back.

Oda made his way towards the voices from the party with a huge smile on his face, wondering who he would see first.

It was then Oda saw the Pig, where Xander was stood with Grundal.

"Excuse me sis, I want to go and see Grundal. I haven't seen him since that night." Oda looked at his hand, then made his way over to Xander and Grundal.

It was so funny. We were at a tavern and there were a bar fight going on. He just asked me. The whole place came to a stand still and every one shouted drinks. He said I make his life complete as he does mine. He's so romantic. I do love him with all me heart.

The party had gone on around whisper with no one paying him too much attention. Whisper was conetent with this enjoying the pleasent company and the happy atmospher, untill in the crowed he saw a face he recoginsed.

Arriving late as usual, Illynya rides up to the gates and argues with the guards until they let her in.

Imagine not allowing me into my own family's keep just because I'm wearing a sword! She thinks to herself, riding up the road and dismounting to check the gifts she brought along for her siblings, a pair of stunning miniature colts they can grow with and learn to ride on.

Irish hugged her Aunt warmly, Oh aunt Richgrams how I have missed you. Yes our three are not hard to miss with their 3 wolves and 2 wolfhounds. Tis a good thing the animlas and the children all love to sail. As for my darling husband I do believe he is off with the rest of our beasts giving the puppies time to run. It has taken and given me a son, it is where Kieran has been all these years." looking over at the children "Your godchild is here as well. "Hi Mum" she listens as the man is introduced "Whisper I would be pleased to speak to you. The pig you sent over is wonderful. Shall we speak over near the spit?" She gestures to the right.

As he was nearing Xander and Grundal, Oda saw a woman approach them both. Rather than butt in, he stood back a short while, hoping to get a chance to step into the conversation without being rude. Oda heard a familiar voice behind him, it was Smom! He turned around to see her stop at the other side of the spit with another familiar person whom he missed.

Oda was now stood between two groups of people who seemed quite into their conversations. He had Xander and Grundal talking to a woman on his left, and Smom & Whisper on the right. Not being one for interrupting, Oda took a seat in a quiet corner of the marque, pulled a small gold object from his pouch, and looked at it.

After putting the gifts with the others Kieran decided now would be a good time to meet some new people, who knows many of them may have known his father. After looking around to see who he could chat to first, he sees the two ladies jumping around excitedly and thought he recognized one of them.

"Greetings m'ladies, why all the excitement?", turns to Rosa."Hello there i don't believe we have met, I am Kieran, son of Smom, who you will obviously know" turns to ele "Ah, ele nice to meet you again, i see your liking the food,"Kieran smiles,"how you liking the party? maybe later we play a few games of horse shoes together?"

Meira had been hanging back, feeling a bit shy in the large crowd of celebrants. She took her plate of food over to watch the babies and children playing for a while, then saw Rosanna and Elensar jumping around happily with Richgrams and wondered what was going on. However, by the time she made her way through to where they were, Richgrams had already left.

"Quite a large turn-out for the party, no? Ele, are you sure you're feeling alright? You look....flushed."

Yes the castle is coming along nicely, the Keep will be finnished soon, the walls and defences will take longer, but when finnished wil be formidable

" Xander, I overheard a conversation where I thought I heard Ele had been very ill, is this true? I know she is fine now, I spoke to her just before I heard that." Oda took another swig out of the flask and handed it back.

Whisper followed Smom and the twins into the feeding tent. He smiled as he watched Smom feed the children. Though she tried to feed them they seemed far more intent on feeding as much food over their faces as they could.

When Smom finally stood up having fed the twins as much as she could whisper coughed.

"I’m glad I have found you altogether, I would like now to give my gift. You cannot turn up to a birthday party with out a gift!"

Whisper reached into his pouch and produced a small dirty green brown rock. I know it is not much but I thought this might be appropriate.



"I know it does not look like much, but I believe it to be an uncut emerald." Whisper mumbled apologetically. "I’m sure to a baroness such things are but trifles. It is the birth stone of May and as their birthday is the 1st of May I thought it fitting."

Whisper puts the small rock on the table, and from inside his shirt a dagger. Using the flat of his blade whisper cracks the stone into: "half for each of them"



Replacing the dagger whisper said" I know they are not valuable now, but I thought perhaps when they come of age they could have them cut into a gem and used for something special"

I was really hoping to see you here at the party.
There's a rare quiet moment at the manor now, as much of my staff has gone fishing.
Too quiet to suit me.....and now with the twins leaving too.....whatever shall I do?
Have you seen Asteria? She's here for the party. She brought dresses back for Smom and me.
What have you been up to besides Council and Teaching?

Xander came and greeted grundal warmly with out stretched hand. grundal returned the firm grip smiling broadly saying,

is good to see you as well cousin. I am far better now then I was thanks to the excellent care I received at Morgan manor, looks as if life has been treating you well.

Walking with Xander over towards Smom grundal returns the friendly hug she gives. As she shows him her rings grundal says,

My friend I did not need to see what that angelic glow on your face already told me, you have been happier these last weeks then I have seen you in so long and I for one am happy to see it .

Grundal joined in with small talk and greetings of others gusts. Lady Irish and Lord ice dragons came along and spoke a few words.

Aye Milady, Grundal responded to Irish, it has been to long indeed, good it is to see you and your husband again may it not take a 2 week trip for us to catch up on one another's lives next time

Seeing lady Richgrams grundal excuses himself for a moment to walk over to her. Bowing with a flourish he takes the lady's hand kissing it gently with the respect due her station.

Milady good to see you once more hope you enjoyed your trip from the manor.

After a few moments of pleasant conversation he goes and rejoins with Xander. Chuckling as Smom fusses over Rohnan and his choice of nourishment. Grundal responds to cousin Oda still smiling over his godsons actions.

Aye I am standing and fit to go another round as soon as that scoundrel is found.

Taking a long pull on the offered flask from Xander and hands it to Oda he cant help but feel happily pleased that the family has come together for the birthday celebrations.

Smiling as he listened to Grundal, Oda thought to himself what would of happened if he hadn't heard Old'Bill kicking away that night. Anyway, now was not the time for that, it was the twins birthdays and the family was here to enjoy the celebrations.

He looked over at his sister again. "I'm sorry Xander, Grundal, there is something I need to do and I cant hold it off any longer. I will catch up with you when I have done it." Oda smiled and handed Xander the hip-flask back.

Oda walked over to where Ele was stood. "Ele, can I have a word alone please? It wont take long but I need to do it now, I have held it off for too long." Oda smiled as he saw the puzzled look on her face. "Don't worry, its nothing bad. In fact, I think you will be very happy with it."

Ele smiled as Oda came towards her and she nodded as he spoke. She placed her arm in his and they walked over to quiet corner.

Oda reached into his pouch and pulled out the small gold object. It was a plain gold ring. "I wanted to give you this. It belonged to our mother, and I have had it since she died 5 years ago. I wanted to give it to you before I went to Beeston, but as you know things were a bit crazy then."

Oda gave Ele the ring. "This has never left my side. It means alot to me. I know you wont remember mother as you were so young when you were taken, but I'm sure it would be better with you than it is with me."

He hugged Elensar. "Now, have you seen Squire here today?"

Ele hugged her brother back and tears came to her eyes.

Thank you so much..., she slipped the ring on to her finger, I dont remember much...as you said I was very young. I feel a part of her is with me now.

She smiled as her eyes glistened.

I haven't seen Merks here...he may still be busy catching fish! We've been in Egremont for a while now.

She looked up at her brother, He was going to contact you while I was ill...but he didn't know himself until I was already recovering. I sure he didn't want to worry you...and I'm fine now., she smiled and gave a twirl, stumbling slightly due to the sandals...

after waking up in my office, totally confused as to why I was there, remembering all the papers I had to catch up on ... I recall hearing horses hooves on the cobble stone out side but I thought it was just a dream. ....

I stand and see the invition to the twins birthday party sitting on the table by the door and I read it .... It's today? ..... yes ...

I check my look in the polished full length mirror that is stored in my office ... hmm a little rough but it will do for now. I walk out into the sunshine and make my way over to the well and take some water and splash it over my head and face, running my fingers through my hair ... better ...

I make my way from the stables and over to the castle, I can hear the hum of voices, laughter and music in the air .... I follow the sound to the rear and come across a sea of people, activities abound, I smile as I watch from the gardens edge, feeling somewhat out of place, my height gives me advantage over most, I can make out several familliar faces .... i'm a little suprised to see ....... My Brother, Oda, I walk in his direction smiling and nodding as I pass by others that have joined the celebration.

Brother, good to see you finally ....

We hug and shake hands, I see Ele and put my hand on her shoulder. ... smiling as I see the food she had collected on her plate and reach for a piece of carrot.

I am tired mate, too many long days and too shorter nights of late. ... I have so much going on right now and no time to do it all, .... such is life though.

I take a plate and start placing some of the food on it, not really watching what I put on it. .... I look at it and laugh

I must appoligise to you brother, I did not know Ele was ill when your messenger arrived, it wasnt until I found out after sending you the reply message that I learn of her difficulty, I went to her side and watched over her the best I could. ... I'm sorry I could not tell you sooner.

Levoc walks around the party following the twins as she had no idea where she was going. Finding herself in the food tent and lost sight of the twins she laughs knowing that they wouldn't be far. Levoc places the two boxes on a table and goes to get herself something to eat as she hadn't eaten all day. Taking to back to the table she sat quietly and eat the food.

"Thank you, Grandmother, I envy your leisure right now! I do understand how dull it can get after a time though. I'm amazed at the size of the Castle, ashamedly, this is my first time here." She pulled her gaze away from the Castle entrance
"The twins are leaving? That's also news to me, I really should stay better in touch. Last I heard of Asteria, she was declaring herself Queen of the Scots. I guess that didn't work out too well for her in the end."
She chuckled at the thought of the former 'Dread Pirate Queen of Dorchester Lake' ruling Scotland.
"It's almost a pity, the Scots don't know what they're missing..or maybe they do."

She slipped her arm through Richgrams' and started leading her towards the Keep.
"I'll help stay your boredom, how about a tour?"

I'm sorry Illy, it seems I was unclear in what I said.
The twins were staying at the manor while their new nursery was being built here,
so I was speaking of them moving from the manor to the castle.
Richgrams stops and gives Illy another hug.
We really do have to catch up on things. You see, I'm not bored here at all.
I love the party and watching the children play. It will be sad to head home to the manor with only Andrew.
He is my ward, and will miss the twins as much as I.
Richgrams tilts her head and with a big smile continues speaking.
As to a tour of the castle, I haven't yet had one myself. You'll have to find Smom or Xander to show you around.
If ever you find the time, I would love to have you spend a day at the manor.
With that, the noise level of the children changes.
There may be something new going on at the party - shall we go see together?

Ele smiles as her brother ruffles her hair. She frowns at the wink to Merks.

That was Kieran Casey II...he's Smom's step-son. They have recently been reunited.

She paused and then giggled, I lost my sandal earlier and he helped me find it...he also helped me look for Ernie. I think Ernie found the pond...

She wobbled once again because of the sandals...

Do you think they'd mind if I went bare foot? These shoes are dangerous...

A courier delivers a whispered message to Xander, his face loses some of its color and a frown comes across his face.
He turns not saying a word and sprints to Smom.
Smom Smom!, a messanger has just informed of a revolt in Keswick, it may not be safe to stay here. I suggest you get the children inside to safety while we decide what we should do.
I will organise escorts for all who wish to leave immediately, the roads will not be safe!

Not knowing who was attacking so close to home she quickly gathers the children and ushers them all inside the castle proper. "Don't worry little ones your Mommy's will be here soon."

Going over to one of the staff she whispers "Please have my chambermaid pack for Xander,the children and myself as quickly as possible. And warn them I expect to be gone for a bit of time." waiting a moment the servant did not move "Now, not later."and watched the servant almost run at her barking the order 'Now'

Pacing the room as the little ones played, she wondered who would attack Keswick and why.

Irish had just returned from the carriage withthe twins birthday present when she heard Xandeer say there had been a revolt near the Castle. Looking for Ice sne went to the tent where the triplets were and left the Twins present there also



She gathered the triplets to her and called the hounds and wolves also.

Enjoying the food and laughing with Ele and Squire, Oda notices a man approach Xander and talk into his ear. Almost immediately Xander went white and rushed over to Smom. Oda knew something was not right.

"Excuse me you two, let me go see whats wrong with Xander." Oda left his brother and sister and went straight over to where Xander was with Smom. Oda heard Smom shouting "Now" at one of the servants.

"Xander? Is everything ok? Is there something I can help with?" Oda wondered what was wrong, he had never seen Xander loose color so fast.

An out of breath messenger arrives with a letter and thrusts it at Illynya.

I....was tol..told it was..important, Lady.

Frowning, Illynya accepts the letter and tears it open. As she reads, her face drains of all colour and her legs go weak.

"I'm sorry, I have to go...Keswick is in trouble. I'm sorry."

She runs to the stables and leads out Alcippe, not even bothering with the saddle. Mounting, she turns her head towards Keswick and kicks her into a fast gallop as soon as they reach the road.

Richgrams was still speaking to Illy when an out of breath messenger arrived with a letter.
Illynya read it and went pale. All she said was "I'm sorry, I have to go...Keswick is in trouble. I'm sorry."
As Richgrams stood there dumbfounded, her mind trying to understand what Illy meant,
she immediately thought of her friends who were in Keswick on their way back from a fishing trip.
Richgrams headed towards the guests still milling around. She was looking for Smom or Xander.

MiniPhoenix limped to Kirkoswald Castle gates. Her hand covered a wound trying to slow the bleeding in vain. She was glad she had dropped Daniel off at Kirkoswald before going to Keswick to get a gift for the birthday. Seeing Kirkoswald Castle renewed her determination and she tried to push herself to move faster. Her new pace was too much, and she stumbled over her own feet. Her knees became bruised, and the palms of her hands became skinned as she hit the gravel. She stayed on the ground in pain for a moment. Finally telling herself she could do it, she struggled back to her feet. She lurched forward, bent over. The sight of the Castle became blurry. MiniPhoenix blinked. The Castle was still a blur. Worry set in her mind. Feeling discouraged that she might never see her son again, Mini began to cry as she continued to wobble towards Kirkoswald. Falling again, she did not pick herself up.

Heading down the path to the road, Illynya flew past a limp figure on the road before registering what it was. Whirling Alcippe around, she headed back quickly to investigate.

Dismounting, one hand on her swod hilt, she cautiously approached.

"Hello? Do you need some help.."

No response.

Drawing nearer, she realized with shock that this was Miniphoenix. Dropping to her knees, she turned her over, and saw she was covered in blood.

"Mini?" tears welled up in her eyes, fogging her vision. "Mini, who did this to you?"

Still no answer, was she still alive? gathering the limp body in her arms, tears openly streaming down her face, she carried the young woman the rest of the way to the gates.

"GET SOME HELP!" She screamed at the nearest guard.

After seeing a horse race past, the guards at the main gate were a little shocked but they thought nothing of it. They leaned against the wall to continue their duty.

"GET SOME HELP!"

The guards looked up and saw the horse still about 70 yards away, there was a body crouched next to it. They ran over as fast as they could to see a body lying on the floor, covered in blood. The woman off the horse was crying on the floor next to the body.

"We need to get her inside. The best way is for two of us to carry the injured woman in. You take this woman inside and then take her horse to the stables." With that two of the three guards picked her up and carried her off to Castle.

The remaining guard tried his best to calm the crying woman but it was no use. "We need to get you to castle right away, I will hold your horse."

Xander hearing the screams of Illy and Oda, knew someone had to do something or panic would set in..Reaching the scene seeing the bloody body of Mini.
Without thinking Xander reacted.
Oda get Mini to Smom NOW!!!. Then I need you with your men, I know shes more than a friend, but you have to secure the castle.

Turning to Illy. Illy you must get home to Keswick secure the town, leave right away!

Xander then went to the other guests calmlt he spoke to them.
My friends and family, please remain calm, Keswick has fallen to rebels, but here at Kirkoswald you will be safe. I suggest you all move inside now let our men do their duty. For those of you who feel they must leave do so now, while you can.

Xander kept moving talking to people reassuring them, standing tall and calm as an example to all around

Oda was standing in the garden near Ele and Squire when a guard ran over to him. "Sir! Come quick to the castle! Miss MiniPhoenix is seriously injured! We found her at the castle entance."

Feeling nothing but fear, Oda pushed the guard out of the way and ran straight towards the castle as fast as he could go. Reaching the main door he pushed it open with aloud bang, making the heads inside turn. He was met with the horrible sight of Mini lying on the floor of the hall, covered in blood, looking lifeless. Oda fearded the worst.

Without saying a word, he went straight to her side, tears pouring down his face at the sight. He wiped the blood off her face. She didnt move or make a sound.

Xanders orders snapped Oda back to reality, he nodded slightly and carefully picked Mini up, taking her into the parlour where Xander had pointed, placing her onto a rug by the fire.

Oda looked at Smom with his eyes full of tears. "Tell me its not the worst! I beg you!" He knew, he just couldtnt face it.

Having had the children taken up to the nursery by one of the new nannies, Smom was returning to the main Parlor when guards came in carring a limp form of a woman. As they placed the bloody form down Smom's eyes went wide as a gasp escaped her "NO" she fell to her knees as she recognized the woman. Taking a couple of breaths to slow the tears spilling down her cheeks she gets up and goes to her.

"Mini? Mini can you hear me?" she calls out to her niece as she touches her. The chill of death just barely upon her. "Oh Jah no." she lowers her face to Mini's mouth to see if she can feel a breath against her skin....nothing. Placing her hand upon her nieces heart she tries to feel it beating. Whispering softly "Please Jah Please let her live." but knowing it is too late, her beloved Mini is gone from this world.

Slowly raising her eyes she sees Oda looking at her with hope in his eyes. As tears stream down her face all she can do is shake her head , NO.

Looking back at Mini she wants to make her pretty, she wants her to be ok, this can't be, not another loved one taken so young.... ripping a strip of cloth from her dress she starts wiping at the blood...she must clean her and all will be well. It must....how will she tell Daniel? Reality hit her at the thought, getting up quickly, she knows she can't have him coming in to see his mother like this.

"Oda we must move her to another room and clean up the blood. The children must not see this." looking at Mini she shakes her head wanting to erase this and have all be well "Why? Oh Oda, we must find out who did this and why." looking at the General of the Northern Order of the Dragon "Please see that the castle is secure General. I think it best we keep the rest of our loved ones safe first."

Hearing all the commotion and then what Xander had to say I placed my hand on ele's shoulder ...
I want you to stay here at the Castle for now until I tell you differently, This is the safest place for now, Oda will be required to assemble his men and I will need to get to the stables and make ready the horses for whatever may come.

I take Ele by her arm and lead her through the crowd to the rear of the castle ... I smile at her ...

Don't worry, I'll be back as soon as I have made preperations at the stables and once I know more details we can make further plans as need be.

I give my sister and brief hug and turn toward the door, exit and run to the stables as fast as I can. .... I see my Brother comming out of the castle

Oda, I've taken Ele inside for the time being and now I'm on my way to the stable to get ready the horses, Is there anything else you need me to do? .... I can have carrages ready if need be also ...

Still numb from the shock, she sees Ele brought in by Squire, as the last of the blood is washed from the stone floor, the rug removed to hopefully get the blood out. Clean or not the memory will always be with her. Making her way over to Ele she decides it is best to be busy or the tears will flow.

"Ele, would you mind taking over the kitchens and making sure all are fed and happy? I need to go see my wood workers. I will be back shortly if any should ask." she starts to walk away and remembers "Ele, two more things. Chose any room on this floor to stay in you wish and please go to my room and get yourself a pair of shoes. I do believe mine will fit you better." she tries to smile but does not quite make it.

Walking out the castle door and over to the workshops she sees a wood worker "Whom do I see about weaving a casket out of willow?" she waits as the man puffs up "Me Baroness, I am the finest weaver in Cumberland. Tis' why I was hired on here by that Molly woman." as soon as he said it he realized he was wrong, he could see anger form on Smom's face "I ..I ...I mean that nice Molly Rose the Steward." he gulped hoping not to be fired.

Looking at the man she wanted to be upset but it just was not in her now. "Please can you weave a casket for my niece, you may see her body in my private chapel, for size. I need it as fast as you can weave. Get as many helpers as you need, just get it done." needing a moment alone she walked away. Seeing the marquee in the distance reminded her how the day had changed so. Looking over and seeing a guard shadowing her "Stop following me and get that Marquee down." she knew he was there to protect her but she needed to be alone to take all of it in.

Sat there with Smom and the body and of Mini, Oda was torn in two. Half of him wanted to stay with her, whilst the other half wanted wanted nothing but revenge for this. He could not keep composed, he tried but the tears kept coming. She was gone.

Listening as Smom spoke to him, Oda knew the castle must be kept safe. Some of his family members were here at the castle, along with the guests. Slightly regaining composure, Oda stood, wiping the tears off his face, only to have them come back.

He nodded slightly at Smom, and made his way outside towards his office and the guards quarters. He was met by Squire who asked if there was anything he could do.

"Brother, shes dead! Someone has killed Mini!" Oda still unable to control his feelings, felt the tears pour down his face again. "I need to go wake the sleeping guards and have the guard points doubled immediately. I'm not sure what else you can do, maybe you should go to the castle and ask if they need you."

Trying to be strong, Oda set off at a run towards his office, he just wanted to be alone, but knew that would have to wait.

Xander saw Oda leave the keep and head towards the Guard House, he knew the anguish his cousin was feeling, but also that no matter how he was feeling he would do his duty.
As he turned he saw Smom wandering alone through the garden, concered that she was alone at this time, he ran to her

Smom, you should not be out here alone
Xander saw the tears in her eyes and the llok on her face and hw knew the worst had happened.He put his arms around her and held her
I am so sorry my love, Mini was a special person. I share your grief and hear this we will not rest until we find out who did this and they pay the price with their blood

Being held in Xanders arms she looks up at him "Is more death really the answer? I am...." her thoughts wander off, as she is not sure if she feels anything or can even think straight as the weight of the loss sinks in. Placing her head on his shoulder she stops holding back the tears and lets them flow freely.
Her mind wanders to poor Daniel, so young yet, she remembers back to Asteria and Kingtnt when her brother and his wife died to early. Maybe if she had gotten to her niece before the Wolves....... can't fix the past. But, she will take in Daniel and raise him in the knowledge of his mother and what a great woman she was. Gone, but she will never ever be forgotten as long as Smom still had breath in her body and memories to share.

As he reached the guards quarters, he entered to see most of them asleep. Oda picked up the hand bell and rang it loud.

"WAKE UP NOW! I want you all dressed and at you posts in 5 minutes! Under no circumstances are you to switch shifts or posts, you will remain there until notified. The entrance guarding points are to be doubled immediately. NOW!!" Oda waited until the last of the guards had left and went into his office. He sat down behind his desk and pulled out a bottle of Whiskey. He took two big gulps and shuddered as it went down.

Oda sat for five minutes with his head in his arms. The one woman he truely loved... Gone forever. How could you do this to me Jah? What has she ever done wrong?

Knowing he couldnt sit here and drown his sorrows away, Oda stood and headed to the Castle.

Of course you are right, there has been too much senseless bloodshed this day. You and I must be strong, our families rely on us to guide them through good times and bad, so no matter how much we grieve and hurt we must give them hope.
Daniel needs us, we must look after him and raise him to be the best person he can be, this will honor Mini.

Whisper, moved out of the tent, a commotion was happening at the front gate. Instantly he knew something was very wrong…

People were bellowing and calling all around him as alarm bells sounded... Some one was being moved to the keep, probably the injured. He caught the eye of a young man, clearly used to authority. ‘Where was his authority’ now he thought as he watched the man curse Jah in his greif.
Whisper hardened his heart he had seen this too many times before. Calm and calculating whisper ran through his options. First is to flee, seek the higher ground, but know the picts up there would be hostile certainly to a man like him. It seemed he had no choice he would have to stay and fight.. Perhaps with enough luck they would repel the invaders...

Casting around he saw Shriekersmom stricken with grief, clutched to the breast of a man he did not recognise. He felt a hot stab of jealousy pierce his breast. “No time to think like e that he though, force it down, and drown it out, logic and cunning with serve here.” Whisper new too well the cost of emotions in combat, rage is powerful but like all storms it blows out.

Whisper walked slowly towards the couple. He then saw that the man with Smom was the man he saw earlier barking instructions Heart heavy at the thought of what was to come he spoke..

“My lady of Kirkswold Castle, I believe events have over taken us, I would offer you my dagger now. I am of little use on the open battle field but I know your forest well. If need be I can lead you to safety, within the sanctuary of the forest you will be safe”

"Yes Dear. The family will need me here. But you be careful, one funeral to plan is one to many already." she kisses him tenderly then rushes off to the castle before emotions overtake her once more.

Entering the Castle with dread at what she has to do next, not finding her Mother at hand, she decides to go alone. She heads up to the Nursery. She can hear all of the children giggling as they play unaware of what happened so near to them. Taking a deep breath she enters smiling.

"Daniel, sweetie can you come with Auntie Smom?" she calls her great nephew over.

Taking him by the hand she leads him to a room at the far side of the castle.
"Where are we going Auntie?"he asks. "I need to talk to you alone Daniel."

When they are far enough away from the other children they wont be able to hear Daniel scream, if he choses to do so, she takes him into the room. Sitting down on the settee with him she slowly tells him of his mothers death and that he will now be living here with her and the other children.

While he cries and screams for Mini she holds and rocks him. Her heart breaking for his loss as well as her own. "I love you Daniel" she says over and over hoping to provide him some comfort.

Kieran, who had just finished talking to ele and rosa, was on his way towards the group which included smom. Suddenly Kieran saw a few of the castle guards run up to smom, with troubled looks on there faces.

Kieran knew there was something wrong when smoms smiling changed to shock, he tried to get towards smom but couldn't as there was now a lot of people running around, and he was getting pushed around by the bigger men who accompanied smom, who had now ran to the castle front gates. The atmosphere had suddenly become hectic and Kieran did not know what to do, he tried shouting to a guard running past "Whats happening??, is everything ok?"

"Nothing that concerns you boy, stay here and you will be fine" the guard replies as he runs to his post.

Feeling very confused at what was happening around him, he looks round and sees ele going into the castle, he runs after her making sure she is ok,"hey ele! are you ok? you have any idea what has happend? im worried about smom, she looked shocked, i tried getting to her but there was to many guards about,"he worriedly says.

Reaching the castle, Oda saw three guards stood at the front door. "You three, Main gate, Now! I want everyone entering and leaving stopped and asked about their purpose in doing so. Anything suspicious, I want to know immediately." The three guards set off to the main gate, leaving Oda.

The whiskey seemed to of calmed him for now, although the pain was still there, be it visible or not. Oda stood for a moment outside, took a deep breath and opened the door. He stepped inside to be met by people rushing round and shocked faces.

Caissadiplomat receives a pigeon in his new home in Ros O'g Cairbre. He supposes that it has to do with his appointment as arch-bishop. When he opens it and reads the news of his daughter's death he begins to tremble.

He sends a lad over to arrange immediate passage to Cumberland. He goes to the mostly constructed church and gives the sole beggar ten pounds telling him the church is closed and that he must be off.

The tears flow freely as Caissa encloses himself in the church and fumbles with his Book of Virtues trying to find a verse to comfort him; his fingers won't cooperate and the pages stick. In frustration he hurls the holy book across the room knocking over the celtic cross.

"Why Jah why? Why have you ripped my daughter from me? I am old, you should have taken me. Its not fair! It makes no sense!"

He hears no reply. the anger boils over in him and he shouts, "I hate you, Jah! How dare you destroy someone so good?! ... What of her son? ... And I trusted You!"

He throws himself on the ground howling in sorrow and pain and anger mixed together until his throat is bloody and raw.

With Bastiaan saddled and Oda feeling calmer than before, he stood at the stables and watched the carriage disappear. His heart had been ripped in two, and a huge hole had been made in his life. Mounting the horse, he headed to the main gate.

Oda was glad to see six guards at the gate instead of the usual three. He stopped as he spoke to them. "I need to go back to gather my things, I will return in a few days. Make sure you tell Squire and Xander on his return."

Taking a quick glance at the castle, they set off at speed.

I watch as Richgrams carriage disappears from sight ... thinking of our sister back at the castle ...

I take it the threat has more or less come to an end? .... if this is the case I'll take Ele back to Morgan Manor so she can keep busy for the time being, it will be good for her to be in formillar surroundings.


I see one of my stable hands working near the hay stack .... and tell him to find the over seer ...

Caissa stand on the deck of the ship bound for Cumberland. It is pouring rain and howling wind but he stands transfixed ignoring the threat to his safety.

The crew are not sure if he is a holy man or a lunatic, and most are convinced he is both.

Inside Caissa is still destroyed with grief and rage.

It will be another two days before he reaches the Manor, he has sent word ahead to await him before doing the funeral.

Illynya draws near to the castle, her brief time as steward of Keswick now over. She is visibly paler than normal and hasn't eaten much in the past two days, but she pushes on, looking for comfort from the grief of dealing with one cousin's death and another's betrayal.

Arriving at the castle she learns she's just missed her grandmothers carriage and the family seems to be leaving the castle. Too tired to go after them, she wanders through the corridors until she finds a spare bedroom, curls up and falls asleep almost instantly.

Having spent some one on one time with Daniel as he made the first days adjustments to being without his mother, Smom hears news her Beloved Brother is on his way. She was happy the letter sent off to Molly had traveled quickly and he heard the news from her instead of a piece of paper. Lots still needed to be done before Mini could be laid to rest.

Deciding to prep the body in the morning she was heading to bed when she was informed her daughter was back. With the harshness of the day to come on her mind she entered her chambers and fell into a restless slumber.

Caissa arrives at the port in cumberland and tries to engage a coach. He has not shaved and he has taken ill on the ship. With his shabby appearance and with criminals preying on the nodes he has a great deal of trouble getting a ride. The fellow he gets is not usually a driver, but with enough gold, Caissa manages to convince him.

Caissa begins the journey, hoping to arrive the next day. He has serious coughing fits, spitting tan mucus out the window of the coach. His only medication is a flask of irish whiskey. His thoughts are still dark ones, wondering why Miniphoenix has been taken from the earth.

They dismounted and cared for their horses. Xander made sure the men were well fed, before they turned in with orders to leave them be for a day so they could rest .

Waking in a somber mood Smom and two of her chambermaids head to her private chapel, within the castle proper, to prepare her niece for burial.

While cleaning her body Smom is perplexed by the gash in her nieces side that caused her death. She has seen many sword wounds and this one is not like any of them. Upon closer examination she sees wooded splinters just inside the wound proper. Could it be she was not attacked but met harm another way? She would have to wait for Xander to return and ask him about what she found.

Dressing her niece in a lovely cream dress that made her pale lifeless body not look so sad, she and the others then place white rose petals and lavender inside the casket she had had made, to make the smell of the body not so pungent, she should have been in the ground already but, it was her brothers wish to see to his daughters funeral, making a small delay.

Standing back she was pleased that her beloved niece would get the send off she truly deserved, with those who loved her most in attendance.

Now off to find Xander and compare notes as to why this tragedy happened.

After another long journey, Oda finally arrived back at Kirkoswald. He had plenty of time to think about what had happened over the last few days, and the truth with what had actually happened had set in.

Upon reaching the castle gates, Oda spots a man sat down outside the gates, with the guards eying him suspiciously. On closer inspection, he notices the man sat down is very upset, unshaven and in dire need of sleep.

"Greetings Sir, I am Oda Marius, General of the guard here at Kirkoswald. Is there anything I can help you with?" Oda dismounts Bastiaan and moves over to the man.

We will be glad if you and your fiance make Egremont your home. As for the business proposal, I will be glad to have a partner only if the following is in agreement for our mutual interest.

1. All products should be sold under my shop's name.
2. I shall sell the boats alone. You will assist me in oars and hulls when demands are too much for me to handle.
3. Only you will have the right to make unhooped buckets and other products (no interventions from me).
4. We will take each other's orders and sell them only when one of us is in retreat or out of town and have recieved permission from each other.

I hope these conditions are not too difficult for agreement.

Reaching the guard house, Oda went straight to his office and picked up the bottle of whiskey off the side. Pouring himself a drink, he thought about what the future may have in store for him. Every time something good happened to him, something bad happened shortly after. He downed the drink in one and poured another.

Moving over to his desk, he sat down and slouched in the chair. Whats done is done, I need to move on and start a fresh. Finishing the drink, he leaned his head back and closed his eyes.

In the days that passed after Mimi's funeral the residents of Kirkoswald Castle stayed secluded in Mourning. Upon their first trip to town Xander and Smom learned their services were needed by the Mountaineers.

Returning to the Castle Smom has a private talk with Daniel "Sweetie, Xander and I need to go on a trip for a bit. I need you to help me by making sure Nanny takes good care of the twins for me ok? Snow, Xander's sister might come and get you to bring you for a visit to her home. If she does I am counting on you to show her how wonderful you are." she gets down to look him in the eye at his level "And I need you to do a special thing for me ok, at night just before you go to sleep look at the moon and know that every night Xander and I will be looking there too, as long as we are both looking at it we are together in our hearts. I love you Daniel."giving him a big hug and kiss before she stands "Want to help me pack?"

After going in her room Daniel wants to fold her things and put them in her saddlebag, insisting he used to help Mommy. Leaving him as he was concentrating hard on doing his task, Smom enters the Nursery to inform Nanny that Snowlynx might be coming and she was to follow her orders if she did. Smom went to kiss the babies who were sleeping quietly before rejoining Daniel.

A letter is handed to Kieran from grams.

After reading the letter, Kieran was excited and thought it would be great for the family to go see their grandmother, who Kieran hadn't actually met yet. Now in a really good mood Kieran runs towards the nursery to tell the Nan and the twins of there visit to Morgan Manor, to his little surprise they were already getting ready to leave! Kieran looks at Sarah, 'oh, 1 step ahead i see, haha', he then goes up to the twins and where Daniel was trying to put some clean trousers on himself,
'come ere, what ya like..' kieran says whilst helping him out with his trousers,'excited about seeing grandma?', Daniel gives of a cheeky nod, Kieran stands up and strokes him on the head while smiling, who then walks to where sarah was preparing the twins, 'hey lil bro and sis,ya ready to go a little trip to go see grandma?, the twins were not taking massive notice as they squabbled between them selves and Sarah was trying to get them looking decent,

Kieran looks at Sarah, 'i will get the carriage ready, we will be ready to leave soon?'

Sarah relplies' ok, thats fine i will have the children sorted very soon and meet you in the yard, '

With that Kieran gave an acknowledging nod and walked out torwards the stables looking for a stable hand..

After talking to the stable hand everything was nearly ready for their departure, there was a nice red oak carriage for the kids and Sarah, and Kieran had borrowed a horse from the castle to ride alongside.

Looking towards the castle doors Kieran notices Daniel running out with the twins trying to catch him, he laughs to himself. Then seeing Sarah following further behind, ' come on kids up here pointing towards the open carriage, rohnan tried to climb up him self, but kieran gives him a hand, 1 by 1 he helps the children into the carriage, he then takes the bags from sarah to let her get herself in, and safely put the bags in there with them. Finally making sure the door was safely shut, he makes his way to his horse.

Kieran felt a bit rusty on a horse as he hadn't been on one for years since his father took him riding, and was finding it hard to keep the horse under control. After finally steadying the horse he acknowledges to the carriage driver that hes ready, and the carriage slowly starts to move away, Kieran motions the horse to move...but it stays put for for a few seconds, He then lightly jabs his heels into the horse and then it shoots off nearly knocking Kieran straight of the back of it. Managing to pull himself back up, but barely keeping himself there,the horse races past the carriage, onwards towards Morgan Manor.

Xander and Smom rode towards Kirkoswald Castle, returning from their stint of duty with The Cumberland Mountaineers protecting the County's northern border
I am hoping that the work on the castle is progressing well my dear. We cannot have it looking like a building site on our special day
As they topped a hill, they saw Kirkoswald in the distance, its keep clearly visible amongst the trees.



As they got closer they could see the castle in better detail, clearly even from a distance the work was well advanced, Kirkoswald looked majestic against the backdrop of Cumberlands scenic countryside

Awestruck at the sight of the castle before her she turns to Xander as he rode beside her on their way home.
"It is more beautiful than I though it would be Xander. The changes you had the workers do while we were gone sure show. It's .....it's beautiful. What a pleasant place it will be to celebrate our special day." looking at him and sharing a smile "It is approaching quickly."

Riding on she sees the gardens are in need of care and makes a note to look for a grounds keeper as soon as she can. She must get a new staff as she left the old one at the Manor with her Mother, they were like a family now and her mother needed that with her growing age.

Thinking of the Manor..
"Xander my love, we will have to go claim the children and bring them home soon. I so miss the little ones and Kieran too. Will be nice to have the family back under one roof." as thoughts of her two oldest children fill her mind for a moment "Well almost all of them. Solumn and Illynya have lives of their own now but, I miss them both daily."

Going on further she sees the pens of animals she is now responsible for breeding for the county. Getting a pungent whiff of air as they ride past she remembers being Sheriff is not a very glamorous job and starts laughing.

Amazed at the beauty of the castle she was so lucky to have been given for her service to England, she remembered the sad shape it was in when she first arrived. Xander had done wonders over the last almost year.

Looking over at her fiance, she knew she was truly blessed to have him in her life. She tried to recall if she ever felt this happy with her late husband. She knew she would always love her memories of Kieran but, it was true she did love Xander with all her heart and with such intensity she knew he was the one for her.

Bringing her thoughts back to what Xander said as they were about to enter the castle proper, grateful he allowed her to walk at his side drowned in her own thoughts silently, not pushing for an answer.
"Yes, I think it would be wise to settle back in and get a few things out of the way then go visit Mother and gather the children. I miss them all. Even Rosanna and her herbal brews she has Ele make me when she thinks they are needed." the sudden memory of the taste made her face pucker with the thought of it "Will be nice to see all of them. Need to ask Merks if the horses are doing well and if we require more."

Entering the castle with Xander she is grateful to be inside and very unlady like plops down on her favorite chair when they reach her sitting room.
"Ah....home at last."

A messenger arrives with a message from firebird manor;

It is with great sadness that my brother Blake, duke of Chester has died. Little was know of his illness since he moved to Chester and sadly had little contact with his sisters.

We look to the family for help in dealing with any funeral arraignments.

No sooner had they come home when a messenger arrives. As she reads the note from her Niece Lela, tears start streaming down her face. Another one gone. Why the young ones? Looking up at Xander she goes to speak, to tell him but, struck with grief she is unable to form words.

As his concerned look grows she hands him the note as sobs take over. How is she ever going to tell Jenibelle? Their poor son now having to grow up without his father.
Burying her face in her hands she lets the tears flow. She must be the strong one when she tells her Mother another grandchild has passed on.

On seeing Smoms face change suddenly from happy to sad, the tears rolling down her face. Xander reads the message handed to him by Smom.

Oh Jah no, this cannot be happening!

Xanders mind races. Turning to a servant Get the carriage prepared immediately, we leave for Morgan Manor within the hour, have someone pack some things for us both and put in the carriage

Xander went to Smom and held her gently consoling her in her grief.
We must go to Penrith to your mother my dear, we can do what needs to be done from there
Xander wipes away her tears and holds Smom, keeping quiet noe so she may gather her thoughts

Putting her arms around Xander she cries on his shoulder, grateful he is with her, till the servant returns saying the carriage is ready. Pulling herself together a bit she looks at Xander.
"I must wash my face. I must not scare the children when we arrive at the Manor. Can we please enter via the Kitchen just in case? And would be best to have Ele have some spirits handy for Mother and warn Rosanna a draft may be needed to calm her down. Two grandchildren lost so close together, what a waste."she shakes her head in disbelief.
She gets up as Xander offers her his hand. Going to the anti room and the wash basin before and following him to the carriage. The normally short happy ride to the manor now dreaded and endless.

Covered with dust, a messenger asks for Lord Llop and finally is directed to him, and delivers his message. Llop generously tips the messenger, and, breaking the seal of the Morgan-Casey family, reads the note inside.

Well, well, well! This is a great news! Llop thinks. He tells his servants he will be away for some days, and in a few hours he is on the road riding Nightwish at a good pace.

Two carriages and a wagon arrive from Penrith. They carry Richgrams, Caissa, Meira, Andrew, Squire_merks,
Elensar, Oda, and helpers from the kitchen, gardens, and stables of Morgan Manor.
Flowers and food have been brought to aid in the celebration.
All immediately set to the task of preparation. They find tables already set up on the spacious grounds.
The gardeners start arranging the flowers. Elensar and her kitchen helpers head for the kitchen with all sorts of food.
Merks and his men head for the stables to prepare for the arrival of many horses.
Oda has full command of his Dragons. He has vowed to serve and protect.
Meira takes Andrew to find Daniel in the Castle.
Richgrams and Caissa seek out Smom and Xander.

As the carriage pulls up I was happy to see the castle when it came into view...it was such a long trip in my condition and hot ...I was ready to get out and get some air...and the twins so excited for the trip and meeting the other children of Smom and Tas and with my hand over my ever so slightly bigger belly I think of how big our families are growing and how nice it is to have them come together...Jenny and the children follow a servant to their rooms and I go in search of my old friend and see what she needs help with...

As Smom sits in her rooms, the butterflies finally come. With all that has been happening in and around her family of late, she and Xander thought it best to just jump and get married before anything else could interfere and delay the start of their new life as man and wife.

Sitting in her favorite chair by the window so, she could enjoy the cool breeze it provides, she sits and brushes out her long blond tresses as she prepares for the wedding. Hearing footsteps approaching she turns and smiles as she sees her Matron of Honor arrive. Thank Jah she made it in time.

"Jealeaia!" she rushes over to hug her friend upon her arrival, taking care not to squeeze her friend to hard as she is with child "So happy to see you my friend. This child agrees with you you are positively glowing." she holds her after the hug at arms length "Come sit with me I will send for some tea while we prepare for the wedding. I cannot thank you enough for coming all this way."

Xander greets Richgrams and Caissa downstairs. He offers Caissa a drink and after a hug for Richgrams he points upstairs.
Knowing that he means for her to surprise Smom, she makes her way up the stairs.
She hears more than one voice from Smom's room and slowly opens the door.
Since she sees Smom's back, she quickly puts a finger to her lips to silence the other person.
She comes up behind Smom and gives her a squeeze., then steps back quickly as Smom spins around.
Beaming from ear to ear she says:
You look ravishing today my dear daughter. I have arrived with a full entourage to help you have a perfect day.
I brought your Uncle Caissa, who was about to leave for Ireland, Xander's best man Oda, my companion Meira,
my ward Andrew (to play with Daniel and the twins,) Elensar and some of her staff, 2 gardeners, and Squire_merks with some of his men.
They are all busy getting your grounds ready for your guests. We have brought lots of flowers and food also.

A guilded carriage of Gold, ebony and dark red ,pulls up to the draw bridge, surrounded by twenty heavily armored guardsmen in the family colours. The leader of the Carriage Guard calls up to the gatehouse. "Honour guards and the personages of Lord and Lady de Stryke. Travelled here by invitation to witness and celebrate the marriage of Lord Alexion de Stryke's beloved cousin Lord Alexander Robin Marius to the honoured and respected Lady Smom Morgan" he waits until a guard from the guardhouse exits and inspects the wedding invitation then ushers the party inside.

As the carriage stops the doors open and Alexion steps out and turns, holding a hand out for his loving wife, Esther. Helping her down he asks a nearby servant to find Xander and notify him that his favourite cousin has arrived with his and Baroness Smom's wedding present.

He admired the magnificent castle as he and his beautiful wife waited for Xander.

Seeing the Castle in all its glory made Oda's heart skip a beat. It truly was magnificent. The day was perfect for the wedding, and it looked like it would stay like this.

Leaving the others to make the preparations, Oda headed towards his office at the Guard House where he could give the guards their orders, and change into his best uniform. Today was going to go well, and Oda was going to make sure of that.

Entering the guards quarters, he could see the guards were all up and ready. "As you all know, today is the wedding of Xander and Shriekersmom. I want today to go well as you would imagine. The guards that are at the gates and entrances to the Castle will be staying there for the duration, whilst the rest of you make regular patrols round the Castle, keeping an eye on ceremony especially. Any of you see something out of place or anything suspicious, I want it investigating straight away. Right, I want you all out now to do your duties, I will be in my office for a short while before I go to help with any preparations."

As the guards all left, Oda made his way to his office, where he changed into his best uniform.

Xander wander to the window, he could feel the sensations of butterflies in his stomach, as he prepared for the biggest day of his life.
He gazed over the grounds seeing everything was in readiness



He saw guests arriving, seeing his cousin Lord Stryke and his wife Esther arrive he waved, turning he summoned a steward.
Please go down to the garden and take Lord Stryke and his wife to a guest room, they will be staying a few days before they return to Wiltshire

Xander moved back from the window satisfied everything was in order

Once dressed he had one final check and went down stairs moving through the reception area, he had one last check ensuring everything was in order.

Jersey Rocket come, and at the gate his invitation was carefully inspected, and finally authenticated. 'It's alright,' he assured them, 'you must be cautious of the irish man.'

But no sooner had he reached the wide front doors when he sat down on the steps instead, and drew out of his knapsack a pair of shoes, a shirt, a gilet, a pair of trousers, and fine shoes. He was content to don these right then and there, and comb his hair half decently.

He knew he was going to be in the presence of lords, and ladies, so he took a mome'to make sure he smelled nice also.

Mal arrived, on time for once, and stepped down from her carriage and smoothed down her dress. She held her hand out and helped Cery down before reaching in and lifting Phoenix out. Taking a firm hold of his hand so that he couldn't run riot as he tended to do, she slipped her free hand into Fire's. 'The place looks beautiful' she said to her husband as they made their way forward, 'I'm so glad that we were invited, it will be nice to see Smom and Xander again'

"Andrew!" Daniel shouted back, running up to the other boy. The two quickly settled down with what looked like a battalion of small horse figures, planning out a battle while they waited for the ceremony.

Seeing that Andrew was thus occupied, Meira smiled fondly at the boys, winked at the nanny, and left to find Richgrams and Smom. She wondered if they needed anything...

As she is helped into her dress by her mother and Jealeia after her hair had been finished by her maid.

"Thank you so much both of you. I do have to admit even thought I know Xander is the right man for me , I am really nervous."

Walking around the room a bit her nerves only get worse.
"Mum, I am going to go see if the twins are ready. Xander has Daniel down with him. Sarah said he looks adorable."

Entering the nursery she is informed the children are down in the hall where the flowers from her garden were being gathered for use at the wedding. going there she sees Gillianna sitting, holding one of the bunnies Xander has allowed them to keep as pets. What a little princess in her dress.



Turning to the other side of the room she sees her little man, Rohnan sitting calmly playing with his bunny.



"Well this is a sight to make your Mum proud. Dressed and staying clean." gathering the children she heads back to Jeal and her mother. "Mum if you could take the children down now, Jeal and I won't be too far behind."

Ice and Irish arrived in their carriage after leaving the Galley.
Ice stepped down and reached out to take Irish's hand to help her out.
Irish placing her hand in her husband's slowly climbed down fromteh carriage and the turned to get the triplets out. Handing Ice,Bella, then,picking up Liam and putting him on the ground then Michael.
they each took a hand of one of their children and then preceeded to the place where the wedding was being held.
As Irish and Ice slowly made their way,Irish spotted Mal and Firewith their children.
Irihs leaned over as best she could to talk to Liam, Liam ,love,please hold on to Michaels hand so I can hold on to Ice for a while. There's my good boy.
Taking Ice's hand they continued their journey.





Looking up at her husband as they walked Ice, I"m beginig to feel and look like a cow.I"'m sure I move like one by now too. Come lets go and talk to Mal and Fire.
You look beautiful as always ,dear.
Irish smiled up at Ice.

They spot Levoc's twins and pull hard on Richgrams arms to go over to them.

Kieran rushed to the castle, he was running rather late and knew his mum or grandmother would not be to keen if he turned up any later. He wondered why there was no one at MM they were all here! he kinda wish he was told they were all leaving but he soon left that thought when he reached the front gates, he jumped of his horse and gave it to a guard and rushed to where he thought smom was getting ready, he brushed his hair down and tried to straighten his new clothes he bought especially for this day. He then knocks on the door lightly and opens it a little before realizing noone in there. 'damn'

Kieran runs to where the ceremonial is been held and quickly finds his place hoping no one really noticed him, once there he lets a breath of relief and sits ready.

As she waddles over she feels a slight twinge but dis misses it as an active baby making its presence known. Aunt how lovely to see you again and this time for a more happy occasion.

After being shown what room Smom was in and getting such a delicate hug from her I think another one to treat me like a delicate flower...and smiling at her I shake my head a bit...

After helping her dress I notice how nervous she's getting...I did that same pacing when I was waiting to marry Cor and I can't help but giggle a bit...

Taking a deep breath he walks out, mingleing with the crowd but talking to noone. Standing in a quiet corner whisper looks around, today he will see his friends tie the knot.

Taking a hipflask from his belt he pauses with the nozzle against his lips.

Having bathed at the inn, and his horse rested, watered and fed, Llop puts on appropriate clean clothes and rides to Kirkoswald Castle. He dismounts and hans the reins to a page.

A great reunion is already waiting and Llop fears he is late. Soon he discovers some known faces, and hearing pieces of conversation he knows he is not late.

Taking one last deep breath, Smom pauses and thinks of her last wedding. Kieran was a great man and she will love him till the end of time but, with Jah blessing she was given another she loved just as much, and some days she felt maybe even more. Knowing her future husband was awaiting her arrival, she put the past behind her and left her rooms headed to the garden and alter where her life would begin anew, as Xander's wife.

Seeing the twinkle of happiness in her eyes grundal led the Baroness down the isle towards the alter. She was beautiful as always but something special was about her today something he had not seen since her last wedding day and per haps even more so now as grundal knew she was so happy. Reaching with in feet o the alter grundal stops and takes a step back letting her continue they last few steps into her new life. Then grundal turns and takes his seat

/ooc Jersey scooped me up from another thread to bring me along, so I'll just sort of try and ease myself in. Wink Hope that's OK with everyone.

Desi quietly excused herself while Jersey was changing - she herself had just changed into a light dress she had pulled out of a saddlebag which still looked a bit creased. She was travelling light, but her housekeeper had packed a silk dress and some bits of jewellery, for just this sort of eventuality. Seeing that he was changed, she gives him an nod and finds his arm again.

"So my little brother, you'll have to introduce me to everyone. I know a few. Arial of course!"

She waves to Arial, remembering the old days in Coventry with a sigh. Things were simpler then. Seeing that the ceremony has started, she quietly takes a seat.

Standing at the alter holding Xander's hands, she listens as he speaks his vows to her. When she hears him mention her children, her lip quivers and a lone tear is shed. The love she feels for this man as she looks into his eyes washes away all doubts and nerves. Smilingly at him for a moment before she recites her vows to him.

"I, Shriekersmom Morgan-Casey, will forever love you, Alexander Robin Marius and promise to share my most intimate thoughts.
I promise to hold and cherish and value you daily.
We will live each day as if our last, vowing to never go to bed angry.

Laughing at Jeal's words after she is hugged tightly "No need to squeeze me to death while kicking me," she places her hand on Jeals tummy "we will feed you all the sweets you want." in a quieter voice "Thank you for standing up with me my friend."

Looking out she sees her son Kieran and her brother Caissa, truly smiling as they clap. Was nice to have a joyous occasion in the family after the sadness of late. Before she could do another thing her leg was grabbed by Rohnan as she saw Gilly do the same to Xander.
"Welcome to the family 'Daddy' seems the kids approve of their new father." she giggles and reaches down to pick up her son

Just standin' in the background as I always do...... I can't 'elp but smile.... I still remember the first day I met Smom.... I would 'ave never beleived me brother would be come her husband..... But then again, she does look so very beautiful.....

And me brother.... such a fine Gentleman..... (Ahh.... I be better in the woods, that who I am...) Still I smile and stay in the background.... it tis my way....

(I hope they 'ave a long and 'appy life.... They seem to be made fer each other.....) me heart aches as I think of another, but I push that away.... (Past be past...)

Storal arrived very late. The road had been long,but he had finally arrived at the castle. He dismounted and headed in, handing the reigns of his horse to a stable hand.

During the ceremony, Llop had been casting glances at the door, nervously. Seeing one of his pages there, he sighed, relaxed. When his friend the Baroness was finally married, he motioned to his page, who disappeared and returned with another one. Llop waited until they brought a big carpet nearby, neatly rolled.

Approaching the happy couple, Llop sees his good friend Jealeaia beside Smom. Bowing to them, Llop expresses the wishes that fill his heart.

"May your happiness last, for that is what you deserve. Love, health, and happiness to you both."

"Jealeaia, my good friend. I am happy to see you again," he says to his friend and general.

"Smom, I do not have the pleasure to meet your husband yet." Turning to him, Llop bows again. "But this is the best of occassions. I hope you both enjoy this piece, meant for your game trophy room." One of the pages unrolls a length of the carpet, showing the embroidery.

ice and irish walked the children to where the receptoin was being held. Upon entering the grand hall Ice made sure Irish sat down,Irish, I will go out to the carriage and get the gifts we brought,please sit and rest. I will be right back.
When he returned Ice placed the gifts they had on the table with the others.
For Xander and Smom was something Ice had made himself in his forge.


For Smom, Irish had gotten this,


For Xander they had found this,a sword from Irish's homeland


Ice then walked over to Irish and joined her and kept a watchful eye on the triplets.

Standing with Smom, seeing family and friends gathered and clapping, Xander felt a huge wave of happiness over him.
Daddy?, yes I am now a father to five wondrful children and husband to the most wonderful woman in te world.

He felt some little arms hug his legs, looking down it was Gilly. Xander picked her up, gently kissing her forehead.

Hello Gilly, give daddy a hug now

Xander grinned, today would be a day he would remember all of his days
